Poetry for all stages of the love relationship, Whispers is honest and open, sometimes lighthearted, sometimes poignant. For example, in “Love Is the Music the Heart Makes “ the poet says, “Love is the music the heart sings/ And its music has the sweetest tune around/ If you are attuned and listen carefully/ You can hear its lovely sound. ….”

I do like to have a place to share my little digital doodles and verses. I like to have a place where family and friends know that they can stop by and say hello or in some cases (Hey! did you know your phone is off the hook?) LOL I sometimes will hit the receiver when I'm scanning something and not even know it until my cell phone rings or I get a note from someone on email, etc.

Anyway, here I am and I hope some of you will stop by and say hello.

It's always cool to learn that you've been doing the right things but just in the long way. CS4 has shortened a lot of steps since I first learned to use Photoshop back with version 4. I won't say that was a long time ago, but I believe that the date was in Roman Numerals and had a BC after it...:grin:

This year we went to the opening keynote and it was super fun! It was like a football pregame show and really well done. (Of course there was a bit of "Vegas" in it.

Next year, health and finances permitting, we would love to attend the precon workshops and the photo shoot with the pros. The photos from their experience really made us wish we had signed up.

NAPP staffers must be the best staffers in the world (next to our SNR staff) because they were so friendly and helpful. If you even looked puzzled, one of the team in their back tee shirts was at your side. They kept me from getting lost a number of times. I loved the way they all liked each other and reacted and interacted with each other.

The classes were great! The only problem was that I couldn't take them all. That's why I'm so thrilled with the big text book. I can still benefit from all the classes at the event.

I loved the informality of the classes on the expo floor. I liked being able to get a taste of various classes and see different products demonstrated. We had an idea of what products we were interested in and headed for those right away. The demos confirmed our interested and we left there with product in hand.

The instructors were top of the line, as usual. I will share about them later.

this generation exclaimed
And Me they sought to please
They wanted everything right now
And wanted it with ease.

The Cabbage Patch Doll
Became the prize sought after
And angry mobs of shoppers
Made gift giving times disasters!

The 1990's were a noisy time -really fast and loud
In came the New Kids on the Block
To please the younger music crowd
And there were scandals that didn't make us proud....

We tore and ripped our tee shirts
And bought some already torn
We loved our long hair again
And grew out locks once shorn.

We discovered that sweat suits
Were comfortable as could be
And no longer had the fancy jogging suits...
But could order sweats from QVC!

And now the new millennium is here
And we have the benefit of the past
To look back upon those things that are fads
And see the kinds of things that last...

But have we learned from all of this
You would think that perhaps we would've
But we still do some really weird stuff
And haven't always learned the things we should 've.

Bare skin seems to have become the trend
From bubblegum pop stars to grown men
They dance around the stage until our brain is addled
And then want us to choose one to become a new American Idol.

Where will this century go
And what will our look be
We've seen it all and done it all and
It's part of our history...

But someone looking through a scrapbook
May find in something old delight
And think the cool 60's cars
Had a look that was just right..

And glancing at Ms Farrah's hair
Might think it just might set a trend
If brought back into this new century
And accolades might win....

And that Southwestern look
That the 90's bravely wore
Might suddenly be revived again
In some designer's store...

We just never know what might appear
For the century is young as yet
But will there be some exciting trends-
YOU BET!

Thena Smith
