Hi, everyone!  It's time for our latest Color Throwdown challenge!  Barbara is our fabulous hostess and she's chosen some traditional and fun colors, just in time for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday!  Can you believe that it's almost the first day of Summer, and then July?  Well, I can't!

I chose to go "mixed media" this week.  I love making cards, but lately I've been craving all the ink and embossing paste on my hands!  So I combined them into a mixed media card.

I played with some embossing powders - Ranger Red and Super Fine Silver by sprinkling them on my blue cardstock and then heating from underneath the cardstock (so they wouldn't go flying everywhere!). 

I used Studio 490 embossing paste on both the blue layer and the #5 kraft tag with a TCW stencil and when it dried, I painted on some Ranger Brushed Pewter Distress paint.

The Graphic Greetings Birthday stamp from Taylored Expressions was stamped in Versamark and embossed in the same Ranger Red powder.  Then I ran the Versamark pad around the edges and embossed them in silver.

I tied on a strand of Maraschino twine and called it done!
