Final Drill Results Received From the Ngualla Rare Earth Project.

February 15, 2012 (Source: Peak Resources) -- Peak Resources Limited (Peak) is pleased to report that the final remaining assay results have now been received from the recently completed resource drilling program at the Ngualla Rare Earth Project in southern Tanzania. The complete data set has been passed to resource consultants Hellman and Schofield Pty Ltd, who have commenced work on the maiden JORC compliant rare earth resource estimate for the Southern Rare Earth and South West Alluvial Zones at Ngualla.

Kimberley Rare Earths Upgrades Resource Estimate at Cummins

Kimberley Rare Earths has announced an 18% increase in the contained total rare earth oxides to 85,000 tonnes for its Cummins Range project located in Western Australia. The increase is the result of the reverse circulation drilling program that was completed on the project in 2011. The Cummins Range rare earths deposit is one of merely 20 formally known rare earth deposits in the world. The reverse circulation drilling at the site was conducted by Navigator Resources. They combined all the results in to a validated database and handed it over to Hellman and Schofield for resource estimation.

Baogang Group and Jiangsu Tiancai Technology Material Co. will jointly build and run a rare-earth luminescent-material production base in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, Xinhua News Agency said today, without citing anyone. The new base will cover an area of 67 acres and have production capacity of as much as 1,500 metric tons, according to the report. The venture targets annual output value of more than 1.5 billion yuan in its first phase, Xinhua said.

Last week at TMS 2012 in Toronto there was a lot of buzz about the investment made by the principal Chilean molybdenum miner, Molymet, in American re-startup rare earth mining venture, Molycorp. The questions being asked where mainly of the type “Why did Molymet make such a sizable-for its revenues-investment in a venture apparently not related to its (Molymet’s) core competency?” and “Why, if Molycorp’s revival project, Project Phoenix, is fully funded did Molycorp need the money, which it will put into the corporate kitty by issuing new shares?” As it turns out, public documents show several pre-existing connections between Molycorp and Molymet. At present, I cannot make any firm conclusions about the content of these relationships, or what role, if any, they played in bringing about the Molycorp-Molymet deal, but I imagine that their existence will be of interest to investors...
