Flip a lever on the sink, and I can catch a stream of clean, cool drinking water whenever I'm a little thirsty. So can you more than likely. The keynote speaker was Kevin Maney, associate editor of Conde Nast publications, author and former USA Today technology columnist for 22 years. He specializes in "what's next in technology". I was really impressed with his talk...because he was bringing a lot of what we already know as information marketers to the suit-and-tie CIOs of the top Alabama corporations. The big news to this crowd was social networking (such as Facebook and MySpace) My latest favorite is Ning (click on the badge below) because it's about building your own niche social network.

Last weekend, I attended the first Internet Success System Gold Member retreat in a beautiful North Georgia mountain setting. Because we're gold members, the only cost was expenses of the lodging. (Membership has its priviledges!) I've been to three previous ISS seminars. They're excellent info-packed events unlike any other. Mark Hendricks, the founder and ringleader, started this several years ago with just a few members and a simple vision of being of service. Now, it's grown to hundreds. The gold membership has become extended family of a couple of dozen marketers involved in different aspects of doing business online. And the really cool thing is that each of us are leveraging the other members' specializations.

Some sleaze ball operating from a European IP address (which means he could be anywhere) managed to get my account information for my primary domain in one of my three accounts. Then he (or she...or it) sent out more than a million spam e-mails using my MaximizeCommunications.com domain. That will get a respectable server blacklisted in a heartbeat.
