Its' so easy to use other backgrounds and embellishments in MemoryMIxer.  I think that's part of the reason MemoryMixer is rated #1 for digital scrapbooking software.

To add other backgrounds simply open  the "Backgrounds" tool drawer & select Custom. 

This allows you to browse for other images (even photos) to use as a background on your page.   

To add embellishments, open the Embellishments tool drawer found along the left side of MemoryMixer, then click on Add Embellishments.  From the Add Embellishments menu select Browse Other.

Some clip art wasn't created for digital scrapbooking and may not have been created or saved appropriately.  Those files will come in with a white background around the image. These items might not work as you would like, but work fine if they are placed on a white background.

This is a throw made from a MemoryMIxer Layout using a B&W photo as a background.  The background photo was changed to black & white using the photo effects feature.

This throw was made from a MemoryMixer layout using a single photo with a background paper and embellishments. As you can see the colors vary, but it is so cute!  We used digital backgrounds from the  Autumn Bliss Collection from Designs by Krista.

This throw was made from another MemoryMixer layout that includes background builders, soft colors, multiple photos and a black & white photo. The throws colors are more subtle and some detail is lost, but it couldn't be any cuter.
