Red the Ultimate Christmas Color

I saved the best for last, not because Red is my favorite color. It was my Grandma's favorite color, she had red carpet throughout her house, my grandpa’s truck was red and she always dreamed of having a little red sports car-but she never learned to drive. My mom didn’t grow up loving red, needless to say we didn’t have much red in our house. If it weren’t Christmas, I might not have ever noticed the color. Times have changed, now I do enjoy a variety of shades of red… in my house, clothes and shoes.

During the Christmas season the color red takes on new meaning. It is deeper and richer; even it’s whimsical shades. It reminds me of the true reason for this season. It is because of His birth, love and sacrifice that we can find peace and hope, truly bringing JOY into this world. May the color red remind us of His love for each of us throughout the year. Colors of Christmas...

I love lots of colors, however during each season there are specific colors that we are all drawn to. Christmas is no exception-we are drawn to red and green. Although the shades may vary from year to year, and we may sprinkle in a few accent colors, the message behind them is the same.

Green often symbolized as an evergreen or pine tree is a natural representation of eternal life. It's ability to stand tall with such beauty, surviving the winter storms. I remember talking with one of our designers and learning that her favorite color was green. I thought to myself, "interesting...I don't really view green as a color, it is more like a background or a supporting color- like grass, leaves, etc. But certainly not the color that stands out or is the focus.” Surprised at my thought, I have observed and focused on the Green that surrounds me. I have learned and will admit that Green is a color, even a color of choice and one that I have come to appreciate and enjoy year round, not just at Christmas. adding Other digital backgrounds and embellishments

Its' so easy to use other backgrounds and embellishments in MemoryMIxer. I think that's part of the reason MemoryMixer is rated #1 for digital scrapbooking software.

To add other backgrounds simply open the "Backgrounds" tool drawer & select Custom.

This allows you to browse for other images (even photos) to use as a background on your page.

To add embellishments, open the Embellishments tool drawer found along the left side of MemoryMixer, then click on Add Embellishments. From the Add Embellishments menu select Browse Other.

Some clip art wasn't created for digital scrapbooking and may not have been created or saved appropriately. Those files will come in with a white background around the image. These items might not work as you would like, but work fine if they are placed on a white background.
