Field Trip: Aulani Resort in Hawaii

Aloha! I am so happy to be back to blogging. Gosh I have missed you all. Forgive me for being late with my visits to your blogs. I can't wait to stop by. My family and I just got back from a trip to the new Aulani Resort and Spa on Oahu. Quite simply: it was magical. I have a lot to share but I think I'll start with some images of Aulani itself. Translated from Hawaiian, Aulani means "messanger." It is a Disney property, but the "Disney-ness" is very understated. The amazing beauty and heritage of Hawaii shines through...<div class="feedflare">

There is nothing simplier than making Monkey Bread... yet it seems and tastes like something special. Here are two ways to make it-- a sweet version and an a Mexican version. Here's the sweet...My pal Deanna shared this delicious Monkey Bread Recipe with me. I'm bananas for it! (Sorry-- couldn't help myself) De's Monkey Bread 4 cans of biscuits (maybe 3 if a regular size bundt pan) Chopped nuts (optional) 1 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon + 1 tsp cinnamon (separate) 1 large ziplock bag 1 cup brown sugar 1 ½ sticks butter or margarine Open biscuits, one at a...<div class="feedflare">

Vintage YoT: Making Bracelets from Belt Material

A few months ago I scored a gigantic roll of woven belt material at the thrift store. It cost me $2.99. I was pretty pleased until I thought-- What the heck am I going to do with this? Make bracelets. Supplies: Woven belt material, needle and thread, fabric flowers, bracelet end pieces, jewelry clasps, jump rings, buttons, cabochons and strong adhesive like E-6000. Measure the belt material against your wrist, allowing for bracelet clasps on either side. Sew the bracelet and belt material together. Repeat on other side. A blank canvas! Attach jump ring and fastener to one side. Now...<div class="feedflare">

Vintage YoT: Interview with Keren from FPTFY

Hi! I wanted to share a "vintage" edition of my Behind the Blog series-- with a blogger who is as genuine and sweet as the vintage images she shares... Keren from Free Pretty Things For You. She's even gifting us with a darling new image right here-- at the end of the post. How did “Free Pretty Things For You” come about? I believe the Lord works something negative into something positive when you’re trusting in Him. FPTFY was created after I was laid off from a staffing agency—while I was pregnant. As I searched and applied for work online,...<div class="feedflare">
