July Papertrey Release

It's release time again at Papertrey, hooray! This month brings some wonderful sets, from a beautiful floral to a whimsical couch set! I had fun creating with all of them and I can't wait to see what you all make with them! So here we go...

In Bloom - the flowers in this set are just gorgeous, you will just have to have them;)!

Mod Squad - fun, crazy patterns and cute sentiments, I had lots of fun creating stuff with this one!

Out to Sea - I love all the images in this one, perfect for masculine cards!

On My Couch & On My Couch Additions - my personal favorite of the release, had so much fun creating with it and I am just itching to make more stuff!!!

The on my couch card also uses Polka Dot Basics II - seriously you have to have this set, it is wonderful, I have been using it on everything! You will love it more or at least as much as Polka Dot Basics!!!

Good Monday Morning! I got the baby down for a nap and thought I would post a quick little card I made using Papertrey's Cupcake Collection set. I love all the different possibilities with this set and all the looks you can create with it! I paired it here with New Leaf, Hibiscus Burst, and Dark Chocolate which mirrors some of the colors in the patterned paper (from DCWV). I also used a couple of bright green buttons from my older stash, these probably came from WalMart! The card measures 3.75x6 a fun size that I have been enjoying a lot lately!

Everyday Button Bits

Welcome to the monthly Papertrey peakee! I was so excited when I heard Nichole's concept for this fun set, especially with all the luscious buttons they have released! Does anyone else enjoy filtering through all the buttons and looking for all the differnt shapes and sizes, it is so fun?! For my card I chose to work with the topiary image in the set. I love that the topiary can be made smaller or taller with just a little masking or stamping the stem again. I stamped the image in Dark Chocolate, then added some stitching marks and back stitched with some DMC embroidery floss that matches Spring Moss. I found those two similar Sweet Blush buttons (flowers yay!) and stitched them on with Rustic Button Twine. The sentiment on the bottom is included in the set, love that mix of fonts. I added a little flower (punched with an EK Success punch) with a small Dark Chocolate button in the center.

Here is a little close up of my topiary, isn't it cute!? Those buttons just make is so sweet and pretty, I love all the flower buttons I find in my button mixes!

Shabby, Soft and Girly!

Happy Friday! So nice that the weekend is here again, hoping to get outdoors and go for a nice hike or something this weekend. I also have projects to work on for my sisters' upcoming wedding! And of course I have lots of Papertrey projects to upload and one fun project I will be able to share tomorrow! For today though, I have a nice soft, shabby, pretty little card to share. I used the flowers from this years PTI anniversary set, Everyday Classics, to create the focal point. I stamped it in a few pastels - Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, Lavender Moon, and Lemon Tart - then cut them out and distressed them and layered with a pretty little button in the center. I used a sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages, some Bitty Dots Patterned Paper, and also a little strip of Spring Moss I stamped with Polka Dot Basics. The ribbon is Lemon Tart Satin, such a pretty soft color.

Look at the dimension on the center flower, so cool and I love it paired with a dry embossed piece. I also had to add a little sewing on the bottom just cause I love how it looks!

Fun Layout

Good Afternoon and Happy Wednesday! Already we are halfway through the week, it goes so fast I tell you - seriously where has the summer gone, I can't believe we are in July. My little boy starts school in a little more than a month - don't like that, we always had summer vacation until Labor Day - what happened to that?

Anyhow, thought I would share a couple of cards using the same layout, one I think is so cute, I keep turning to it over and over for quick cards! The first card uses Heart Prints, Borders and Corners Circle, Background Basics: Text Style, and Scattered Showers with Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Rustic Cream, Pure Poppy, and Summer Sunrise. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey and the border punch is the Upper Crest punch from Fiskars.

Here's a close up of the focal point - I used the Super Jumbo Scalloped Circle from Marvy and a cute Rustic Wood Button.

Okay, second card uses Star Prints, Borders & Corners Circle, and Background Basics: Text Style with Rustic Cream, Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides and Spring Moss. Same stuff - Basic Grey PP, Fiskars border punch.

And the close up...I turned the button over this time, love that! I also inked all the edges with the Vintage Touch Inking System.

Hey Cupcake

Good Morning all! Hopefully you had a wonderful, relaxing, fun filled 4th of July! We spent time with family, swimming, BBQing, watching fireworks, it was nice. I took some super cute pictures of the boys that I will have to share as soon as I download them from our camera. It is amazing how much my little ones have both grown in the last year - I took a cute brothers picture last year too!

I thought I would share another card using Papertrey's new Cupcake Collection from the last release. I really like how the cupcake looks stamped on Kraft - this time I used Dark Chocolate and Hibiscus Burst with Fresh Snow sprinkles. The background paper is from the Carolyn Gavin Greenhouse collection, which has some wonderful stuff in it with lots of colors that match PTI. The Spring Moss strip at the bottom was cut on one edge with scalloped scissors and I stamped the sentiment in Dark Chocolate and the sprinkles randomly in Hibiscus Burst.

Close up of the focal point shows all those buttons I used, I just couldn't stop myself, those buttons are so cute! The flower is a Prima which really does match the Spring Moss despite the fact that it looks like it is yellow in the picture. I also sponged the edges with Fresh Snow and wrapped the Rustic Button Twine around the back before adhering the whole thing with foam dimensionals.

A Trio of Thank You's

Finally I am back to share some more Thank You cards I made for Mikey's birthday gifts. I primarily used Star Prints for the cards, I just love that set! The first card was inspired by a card from Amy Rohl in this post. I used Kraft for the cardbase, Spring Rain and Dark Chocolate for the focal image and a little Rustic Wood button.

Second card was inspired by this months Guest Star Stamper winner for Papertrey, Tracey Cuccia - you can see the card on this post from Nichole. Anyhow, it uses Fancy Flourishes and Star Prints - a perfect pair in my opinion!

The last card closely resembles the Father's Day card I shared a few posts ago...only different sentiment and different colors!

Shower Invitation

Good Monday Morning! Hope everyone is well and had a nice weekend! Our weekend felt busy but we didn't really do that much outside of cleaning and house projects. And it was HOT!!! So thankfully my hubby put in our air conditioner and it makes life so much more comfortable. Anyhow, I promised to show you the bridal shower invitation I made for my sister. She really likes tea so we decided to have a tea party themed shower. And what is more perfect than Papertrey's Tea for Two set to make the invitations. I used the flourish and flower from With Sympathy on their wedding invitation as well so I thought it would be perfect to do the same thing on the shower invitation. So here they are, simple cute and fun I think. They took a while to reproduce (we did about 40) but I love how they turned out. Her wedding color is mainly tangerine so I used Colorbox Chalk Ink in Tangerine and the cardstock is from Paper Source in Poppy. The blue is SU!'s Pacific Point (last years In Color).

Papertrey Blog Hop

It's Papertrey Blog Hop time again! Usually I don't have time to participate but this month I did and I love the summer theme! I found this super cute photograph on Flickr of some yummy looking Coconut & Lime Cupcakes, doesn't that sound delicious?!

I used the new set, Fruitful, to create a cute lime background using New Leaf and Spring Moss. Then I used my glue pen to add Prism glitter to the edges. I thought the perfect companion to this paper would be a cute margarita glass and sentiment from another fun set, Day at the Beach. I added more glitter to the glass and to the lime wedge. The card is 4.25x4.25, a really fun size and I added circles to echo the background above on the bottom New Leaf layer using Borders & Corners: Circle.

A little accent of New Leaf Saddle Stitched Ribbon completes the look...here is a close up.

Star Thank You

Wow, I have been trying to find a few minutes to blog all day!! Such a busy day I should have known I wouldn't get a chance. I had to work, Mikey had his 1 year doctors appointment (and shots), Jakey had swim lessons and we had to go to the post office and mail a whole bunch of invitations for my sister's bridal shower. I will share that invite soon, I really like how it turned out. For today though, I thought I would share one of the thank you cards I created for Mikey's birthday gifts. This is one that evolved using scraps I had on my desk - had two rectangles cut with my Nestabilities and just a random rectangle that was a scrap. I thought they would look cool as a panel with the stars spread across them - does that make sense? Anyhow, I have been using Star Prints like crazy lately, I just love it! I even picked up a couple of other sizes of star punches from Fiskars to compliment, I will use them soon and share! Anyhow, here's the card, using Spring Moss, Spring Rain, and Ripe Avocado. I also used the Vintage Touch tea dye to antique each panel.
