It's Nomination Time Again at AUGI.com - October 2009
October 2nd is just the beginning... of what? A fantastic and rewarding experience for any hardworking volunteer!

So
what’s happening today? Members are given yet another way to be
involved with AUGI. You can do this either by nominating someone for
the Board of Directors or throwing your own hat into the ring for the
next term.

Being
a Director requires some work, effort and carries responsibility, but
it offers many rewards as well. So how do I apply, you may ask? All the
details can be found here.

If
you are considering running for the Board, keep in mind that they meet
in person three times per year. In January, June and at Autodesk
University near year's end (for a combined total of about two weeks
minimum). There are also monthly teleconferences to keep everyone on
the same page. So, you can anticipate about 15-20 hours per month
(maybe more, depending on the level of your involvement).

Nominations need to be submitted to the Chairman of the Nominations and Elections Committee no later than Midnight (CST), October 26, 2009.

AUGI and AMI/Burns sign agreement for event management

AUGI has retained a new event management and marketing firm, AMI/Burns, to manage the AUGI CAD Camp tour starting in January, 2010. Schedules and locations will be developed and announced in the fall at www.augievents.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 03, 2009

AUGI is pleased to announce an agreement that sets the stage for the 2010 AUGI CAD Camp season.

“We are very excited about our relationship with the team at AMI/Burns because of their extensive knowledge of technical events. They are based in San Francisco and
Loveland, CO., and have developed events for Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Nvidia, Oracle
and dozens of other high-tech companies and associations” says Mark W. Kiker, AUGI President. “We look forward to a vibrant renewal of our CAD Camps next year.”

CAD Camp has had a significant impact on the level of understanding of the Autodesk tools. They are one of the best training event values and are open to members and non-members alike. Each event promises to be innovative, invigorating, educational and spawn great ideas and relationships.

Tim Bostwick of AMI/Burns adds “We are excited about the brand recognition that these events already have. We expect 2010 to be a banner year for AUGI CAD Camp.”

Some of the immediate goals are to:

• Maintain affordable tuition levels at the 2008 level.
• Finalize the 2010 schedule to include prior cities and expand to new ones.
• Continue to offer world-class content for the camp series including national and local subject-matter experts.
• Revamp the augievents.com web site so that it serves our attendees better. The site will look better, contain a lot more information, and leverage the latest social media.
• Create a sustainable financial model for the camps that will insure their continued operation. The arrangement with AMI/Burns insures that AUGI management will have detailed financial and logistical information about how the camps are managed.
• Develop an expanded brand for the camps and extend the AUGI brand even further in the CAD marketplace.
• Increase the number of sponsors and exhibitors at each camp.

To find out more about sponsoring or exhibiting at AUGI CAD Camps contact Tim Bostwick at 650-416-2401 or tim.bostwick@amotive.com

AUGI announces its newest offering to members—a Web-based career center that connects job seekers with prospective employers in their industry. The new job board, powered by career services leader JobTarget, can be found at www.augi.com under the Careers Link. Access at this time is available to AUGI members and nonmembers alike.

By launching an online career center for CAD professionals in every field, AUGI again offers its members superior benefits. The firms that have job openings can find targeted resumes to review and post their openings for our members.

Members can post resumes, create Job Alerts, view open jobs and apply online.

Posting your resume is easy. Just fill out the online forms and you are done. You can upload a resume that you have already created or create one on the fly, complete with employment history and educational background.
Our resume count will grow as AUGI members post their resumes online.

As we expand, there is no shortage of jobs or resumes since the AUGI Career Center taps into the network of JobTarget sister sites. We are just getting started and we already can access over 1000 open jobs and over 90,000 resumes.

The AUGI Career Center distinguishes itself from generalist job boards in a number of ways.

These include:

a highly targeted focus on employment opportunities in CAD, 3D and BIM

anonymous resume posting and job application—enabling job candidates to stay connected to the employment market while maintaining full control over their confidential information;

an advanced Job Alert system that notifies candidates of new opportunities matching their own pre-selected criteria;

access to industry-specific jobs—and top-quality candidates—often not seen on Monster, CareerBuilder, or HotJobs.

Special offers include the ongoing FREE posting for those who are seeking employment. For those looking to post an opening, AUGI is offering special introductory rates – available the first two months. Take advantage of these low rates today!

Go to the Career Center Now!

.
