I had a Veriflex board from a department store and no pads or helmet. I kicked at the facewall for hours trying to get to the top. A few days later I did my first backside grind.</p>
<p>Check this video (the B&W super 8 footage) of some of "The Loud Ones" crew (Fred Smith, Kevin Day, Frank Lannon, Sean McLean). These were they guys I looked up to when I first started. Jake Phelps used to bag on me for not partying enough and skating too much. Still does. ha ha. </p>
