You may have noticed my last post was some time ago. With so much going on currently, I've decided to take an extended break from blogging. Thanks for checking in over this last year. It's been a real growing experience for me and I trust you've been blessed.

Shooting Star

The scriptures tell us that life is fleeting. Even a long life passes by in what seems like an instant. Almost like a shooting star that streaks across the heavens. Look quickly or you’ll miss it completely.

This being the case, the question in my mind is, “How do I make what little time I have count for something?” I wonder if part of the answer is to determine to give my very best to each moment, each opportunity as it comes along. If I do this, then the moments add up to days and the days to weeks and so on. Pretty soon, looking back at all the moments added up, I will see a life lived with as little regret as possible.

Only a handful of people make a significant enough impact on the world at large that their name is remembered past one generation. Yet the greatest impact may simply come by acknowledging the presence of God in every moment. And by doing so, leaving the indelible mark that only he can make as he works through you…moment by moment.

Choose Life

Welcome to this day. First of all, with each new day, you have a choice. In fact, you have many choices. You can choose your attitude, your energy, your focus, your thoughts, and so on. One of the most important choices today will be the choice between life and death. In fact, all the choices I mentioned above include the choice of life or death.

Not so much as in "will I cease to exist on earth" kind of life and death, but more along the lines of moving toward life or moving toward death in my choices. Is the attitude I’ve chosen to approach the day with going to lead myself and others toward being more alive, or becoming lifeless? Am I focused on infusing life into my daily activities or am I caving in to the pressure to break down?

Too many times I’ve given in to slowly dying, resigning to the circumstances, swallowing the truth or allowing a calloused heart to direct my steps. But not today…today, I choose life.
