Three red tule roses? Created by me in March 2010 at Artfest in Marion and Tracy Huskamp's class.( BTW, it was not the class project - it was something totally different). A local artist grabbed the photo - or a photo of the piece taken by someone else in the class - and posted it as her own work on FB. I still have the artwork - and am 100% sure the photo she posted is the same piece.I don't know if she intentionally ripped <strong>me</strong> off or found the photo on someone else's blog - which would be an odd coincidence. I'm just angry and disappointed that somone I know and respected would do this. How do we protect oursleves from fellow artists? Thoughts?</p>

You arrive and check-in at Fort Worden on Wednesday after 3 p.m. and classes are from 9 am to 4:30 pm Thu/Fri/Sat. I carefully consider which classes I am going to take on which days. Thursday needs to be a "getting into the groove" kind class. Friday I can try something out of the box for me. Saturday can't be too challenging - cause we're usually tired and I'm a bit sad that it's the last day.</p>
<p>Wednesday Class with Syd McCutcheon aka <a href="http://www.sheepfloozy.com/paint_2.htm" target="_self">Sheep Floozy</a> was a composition/color/painting class. Much fun as I love Syd's color palette:</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e591f3970c-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Artfest 11 Syd 4" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e591f3970c" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e591f3970c-320wi" title="Artfest 11 Syd 4" /></a> <br /><br /></p>
<p>and here's one of my tries - there were three in all:</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e8806287b970d-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Artfest 11 Syd 3" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc48833014e8806287b970d" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e8806287b970d-320wi" title="Artfest 11 Syd 3" /></a></p>
<p>Thursday was class with <a href="http://www.allendesigns.typepad.com/" target="_self" title="Michelle Allen">Michelle Allen </a>- I had a bit of a challenge because the part of my brain that sorts out spatial relationships was inoperable and I packed a box that was way too big.</p>
<p>So here's what Michelle was thinking we might be able to make (and some great students did)</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc4883301538e126f9b970b-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="IMG_0137" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc4883301538e126f9b970b" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc4883301538e126f9b970b-320wi" title="IMG_0137" /></a></p>
<p>and this is what I made (and I am very happy about - who knew I could make a 3D figure out of paper clay?) I'm going to give the whole project another go around very soon!</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062c5c970d-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Artfest 11 michelle allen class" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062c5c970d" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062c5c970d-320wi" title="Artfest 11 michelle allen class" /></a></p>
<p>And then Saturday was Karen Michel. She's into "green" art supplies and even published this book:</p>
<p><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Green-Guide-Artists-Resources-Eco-Conscious/dp/1592535186" target="_self" /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Green-Guide-Artists-Resources-Eco-Conscious/dp/1592535186" target="_self" /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Green-Guide-Artists-Resources-Eco-Conscious/dp/1592535186" target="_blank">Green Artists Resource Guide</a></p>
<p>The class was jammed with great trips and tricks and I love my piece, though it does need a bit more work before it is ready to hang...</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e59891970c-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Artfest Karen Michel Class " class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e59891970c" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833015431e59891970c-320wi" title="Artfest Karen Michel Class " /></a></p>
<p>and moi with the lovely Karen:</p>
<p><a href="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062f24970d-pi" style="display: inline;"><img alt="Artfest 11 Karen Michel" class="asset asset-image at-xid-6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062f24970d" src="http://artcricket.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54ed58dc48833014e88062f24970d-320wi" title="Artfest 11 Karen Michel" /></a></p>

<p>a few pages from my friend Michelle's art journal</p>
<p>I dodn't take many photos this year or I'd be posting alot more of my fellow artists's creations - so much talent discovered and enjoyed. Counting down the days till Artfest 2012!</p>

<p>artfest thursday night bonfire - yes, I really did go wild and toast two marshmallows and slam my annual artfest s'more!</p>

<p>Next to the bonfire, this is what's rockin and rollin in the Beach House...art journaling, laughter, friendship. It took me a couple of years to realize that hangin' with my peeps is one of the things that makes artfest so special to me.</p>

<p>Gotta have a Fort picture, this one taken with Toy Camera. It really wasn't as cold as the photo suggests. The weather was actually perfect. That's because Tracy and Teesha say some prayer to the weather gods every year,</p>
