<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Off the shores of Emma Schmitz View Point, you may have witnessed a hollabalou of spectating seagulls diving over forceful splashes in the sound. We watched for a while in the park and decided to trek back to our house to try to capture some photos. </p>
<p>Through  telescope, you could see that a sea lion decided to have a late afternoon snack of squid. It was amazing and I wish our photos did more justice.  </p>

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">If you'd like to learn a little more history about this quaint 12 table restaurant, West Seattle Blog posted a<a href="http://westseattleblog.com/2010/05/followup-memories-of-west-seattle-restaurateur-neal-saffer" target="_blank"> fabulous article</a> along with reader's memories of the restaurant's owner/chef that had recently passed away. I also hear that Quesnel's is mentioned in the book <a href="http://www.loghousemuseum.info/gift-shop/" target="_blank">Memories of Southwest Businesses</a> that can be found at the Log House Museum off of Alki.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">My next quest for photos is to get some choice shots of <em>Sans Souci</em>, the old Schmitz mansion that used to adourn what is now Mee-Kwa-Mooks. If you have any leads on photos, please share!</span></p>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Some Beach Drive neighbors were contacted by the Seattle Police after 2 am this morning to learn their cars were damaged by punks.  Windows were broken on the west side of the street and some of the cars may have items stolen.  There are at least four cars that I'm aware of south of Jacobson on Beach Drive. </p>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>Weather forecast can and do change.  At 4:30 this morning, <a href="http://www.mortgageporter.com/beach_drive/2012/01/barking-dog-report-wind-and-waves.html" target="_blank">we issued a "barking dog" report</a> which basically means that we're preparing to possibly flood or lose power because of high winds, tides and waves slurping over the bulkhead.  A "barking dog" would be like your neighbors friendly retreiver who howls when he thinks something may be wrong - sometimes he's right, sometimes not...but always on the lookout with best intentions. </p>
<p>We indeed have water coming over our bulkhead and thankfully have a back-up pump since the first one failed.  </p>
<p>This photo is of our neighbors patio where the waves knocked some of the brick pavers out.</p>

<p><strong>Our next high tides</strong> are an 11.3 at 2:25 this afternoon and a 12.3 at 5:08 Sunday morning followed by a 11.2 at 3:20 pm Sunday afternoon.</p>
