strikingly moderate movement. The protesters are not directly
challenging Khamenei, or the constitution that allows him nearly
unlimited power, despite the widely shared impression that his hand is
behind the apparent manipulation of the election results and the
crackdown that has followed. Instead, they are demanding that their
votes be counted and, numbers permitting, that they be allowed to elect
the candidate of their choice, from among the few whom Khamenei’s
Guardian Council had preapproved to run for office. In effect, they
insist that the path of legal, internal reform be kept open. Whether
this unity and singularity of purpose will survive depends partly on
Moussavi’s leadership, and partly on how much pressure Khamenei brings
to bear.(...)" <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/talk/comment/2009/06/29/090629taco_talk_secor">LINK</a><br /><br /><strong>Oil Schock - James Surowiecki</strong><br />"ow fast the world turns. Only a few months ago, as consumer spending
evaporated and commodity prices collapsed, investors and policymakers
were haunted by the spectre of deflation. Today, with the economy
showing some signs of bottoming and commodity prices back on the rise,
the worry du jour has suddenly become inflation. Much of this anxiety
is just a matter of looking for a lead lining in every cloud; long-term
interest rates, after all, remain historically low, and there’s little
evidence of inflationary pressures in the economy as a whole. But there
is one bit of inflation that can’t be written off so confidently: oil
prices, after falling more than a hundred dollars a barrel last year,
have roughly doubled this year, sending gasoline prices up more than
sixty per cent and leaving Americans paying about a dollar more per
gallon than they were in December. Many worry that higher prices at the
pump could end up choking off the economy’s putative green shoots
before they’ve even had a chance to grow.(...)" <a href="http://www.newyorker.com/talk/financial/2009/06/22/090622ta_talk_surowiecki">LINK</a></div></div></div>

Eyes are focused on this small Baltic economy, amid growing talk of a devaluation, due to the potential for spillover effects into its fellow Baltics, Sweden and the broader Eastern European region.</p> <p align="justify">Strong trade and financial linkages, not to mention similar macroeconomic vulnerabilities, mean a Latvian crisis would almost surely have knock-on effects on neighboring Estonia and Lithuania, as detailed in this <a href="http://clicks.skem1.com/v/?u=b7179f879a38d1cc6bbb125665c1ba8d&amp;g=3891&amp;c=444&amp;p=f2d068ab728d3a36a6538ea4860bb9a5&amp;t=1">RGE EconoMonitor post</a> in early May. A Latvian crisis would also have negative spillover effects into Sweden via Swedish banks’ heavy exposure to the Baltic trio. The wildcard is how a Latvian crisis would affect the greater Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. Direct trade and financial linkages between Latvia and CEE economies, outside of the Baltics, are limited. Nevertheless, many of these countries – particularly Bulgaria and Romania – share similar macroeconomic vulnerabilities with Latvia, meaning a crisis there could ‘wake up’ investors to the potential for crises in the rest of the region.(…)” -  <a href="http://www.rgemonitor.com/euro-monitor/bio/rgeedit/rge_analyst_team">RGE Analyst Team</a></p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.bemhaja.com/.a/6a00d8341c0a8a53ef011570ee1fc6970b-pi"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="logo" border="0" alt="logo" src="http://www.bemhaja.com/.a/6a00d8341c0a8a53ef01156ff94e7d970c-pi" width="142" height="118" /></a></p></div>

One cannot rule out a couple of quarters of sharp GDP growth as the inventory cycle and the massive policy boost lead to a short-term revival. The Obama administration has developed policies to counter these negative effects, but, in my judgment, they are not adequate to turn the economy around and produce a sustained recovery. </p> <p>Having said that, these policies are still works in progress. If they are strengthened in the months ahead – to increase demand, fix the banking system, and stop the fall in house prices – we can hope to see a sustained recovery start in 2010.
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div><p><em />
</p><p style="text-align: justify;">
</p>
Entonces, a
los cincuenta y dos años, todavía no conocía la dimensión de su propia soledad;
sólida convicción de que moriría de un síncope mientras estuviera dormido;
No tenía sentido
departamento, dispuesto a esperar.
entrecortado. <br />   "¿Le pasa algo, señor Serrano?". <br />   "No..., no, m'hija,
nada. No pasa nada", dijo él.
