1. Our Salad for dinner tonight. Yellow organic tomato, feta, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper
2. Corn for dinner too!
3. Not pictured, but gourmet hamburgers made by The Man, and boy were they GREAT, even though I have to eat them without the bun, (drat).
4. Some hand-dyed roving, handspun by me, knit by me fingerless mitts. I finally wove in the ends.
5. This weekend's weaving. It was Collapse Weave with Betsy Blumenthal. Oh my word, I want her mind. Besides the fact that she's famous, and her work is amazing, she's nice too! I bought two scarves from her, in both of the drafts we did this weekend and I'll try to remember to photograph them and put them on here for you guys to see. Simply beautiful.

I've lost a little interest in this blog. I'm not sure why. I guess that happens once in awhile, but pressing on...
I've got photos, and really, what's a blog post with out photos?
I spun some gold. Love it. I got quite a bit of yardage out of this one skein as a three ply.
And, here I am waiting for Kid 1 at her Jr. High. See those buses? I elected to drive her to a closer school. But the buses are enticing. I've gotta be there at 2:30 on the DOT! It's ok, it's good Mommy/Daughter time.

Actually, I've been sick since I got back from Vancouver, all through my time in San Diego and still now I'm sick. I'm tired of it! It's a pretty severe cough (Bronchial Infection) and added to that I also have a sinus infection. Lovely!
The girls got new haircuts for school and they both love them! Today is a full day for both of them. After a year of homeschooling, I don't think they are really ready for what's in store for them. The time spent wasted transitioning from one thing to another will drive them crazy. We'll see...!
Here are the three of us yesterday before church. I'm channeling my old College days with my lazy curly hair. You should have seen me with my big bang mall hair, I rocked the big hair guys, back in the day, let me tell you!

Pier at Moonstone, Catalina
Going to shore to Moonstone for dinner.
Well, we were greeted with two very excited girls from the Catalina Flyer. They've been here for a week already with my parents on thier boat. We were dying to see them too! My mom caught this photo of the four of us. I love the sign behind us, "Go In Peace."
Quick as a flash I put on my bathing suit and sat in the sun with my knitting. Both of those things are integral to my summer requirements list. The Man caught me knitting downstairs. And, I'm channeling another blogger by posting this next photo. My girlz at home in Denver know who I'm talking about - this one is for you. But, you will note, that I'm much more modestly covered up than the other blogger. Hee
I've also done some sketching and painting. This picture below is of my mom's new puppy Izzy who sleeps anywhere. Here she is sleeping on the captains bunk after wrestling around with the girls. Such a cutie.

Why, Hello There Blog. I haven't gotten to talk to you lately.
We had a terrific family trip up to the Okanogan and stayed at the Fabulous Veranda Beach Resort. We had quite a few days of smokyness due to the fires up in Kelowna, BC where about 11,000 residents were evacuated. But the lake was beautiful, the sun was hot and the water was refreshing. Basically the kiddos had the run of the place and we parents had a blast just hanging out. From there we were off to Vancouver for some time with old high school friends and some great shopping.
One of my sister-in-laws makes a killer Mojito which now has a name change. From now on it is dubbed the "Stef-i-to" and must be pronounced in a low and decidedly slow manner, enabling you, the drinker, the pleasure of enjoying the sound and taste of a well made drink. (Of course, after your third one, you must say it slower, but LOUDER!)
The Recipe for a "Stef-i-to" (makes four)
2 limes well squeezed (squoozen, squosed?)
5-6 mint leaves
4 -6 oz. of rum
Sprite
1. Combine all ingredients except sprite into a small glass jar and muddle with a muddler (?) I've made this at home since and used my pestle and it muddled just fine. Basically you are smooshing it all together to mingle the flavors.
2. Pour equal amounts into each glass and add a ton of ice.
3. Pour Sprite to the top of the glass
4. Add another Mint leaf for pretty-ness
5. DRINK!
6. LAUGH!
7. Make another one!

Funny Story....My brother-in-law was throwing the youngest nephew up in the air in the pool and was very successful at launching him to great heights. That kid was flying! After my brother-in-law got tired, the nephew asked me if I would throw him up in the air and man, that three year old weighs a ton! (Mister Muscle Man already) So, I attempted in my weak way to throw him the same way my brother-in-law did. I managed to lift him out of the water about 1/2 inch and succeeded only in pushing him forward in the water. Totally unsuccessful.
Nephew: Again, Again!!!!!
Me: Ooooffff!!!!!!!
Nephew: Pointed his finger in the air and shouted, "LAME!"

The kids are already in San Diego with friends and family, and we are heading out this week after some work and a mail check.

Somebody got fixed last week, and it wasn't me. Poor little girl. For a bit she would NOT walk with this thing on, and in fact, just stood like a statue only moving her eyes and whining. Today she gets her stitches out and looses her, "cone of shame." Most likely this will cause an overflow of energy, and crazy running in circles. Like I said in my last post, she keeps running into the back of our legs and this HURTS!

This is 2000Leagues. I spun this lace weight awhile back, but now it's time to put it to work. As I have "start-itis" for lace projects these days I've decided that I'm going to knit this (Slowly....Carefully.....)
