So .. as the story goes I've been lazy. I think the last post was back on the 20th of October. That post was based on the fact that my lawn mower had quit working.

So If I was a good blogger I would have had a witty thing to say about Veterans Day.. but I'm not a good blogger.. so I don't.. But go Thank A Vet.

Well it has since started working, and I was able to finish my yard for the winter. Actually I think I have one more cut left in it. So that's good. It ran fine.

Well the week since then, of Course WVU screwed the pooch against USF. Yes we then have beaten L'ville, but what the hell does that mean? Afterall this Friday it looks like we're going to get our asses whipped by Cinncinatti.

Should be fun.

Halloween, managed to go to a Halloween Party at one of Susan's friends. Great party and great food.

Check out the costume... are we not Dressed to Kill? (that's your cue to chec out the picture)

Come on you love it.

So, as I mentioned last weekend we were in Morgantown to watch an uninspiring win over L'ville.

We have our work cut out for us this week against Cincinnatti. For some reason, this WVU team just can't get over the hump and put a really aggressive game together.

Oh well.. so this week I've been trying to exercise... yeah I keep saying that. But hell look at my fat face in the pic above.

So today I was able to do a jog and a ride - hey after all it's 50 degrees in November, should get outside and try to do something shouldn't you? I thought so.

Some noteable news.. looks like in Huntington there's going to be more gang violence.. read between the lines....Ok, the university says it's not behind it, but something like this well it makes me think that if there's smoke....

Fork YOU reveiwed BW3 in Southridge.. come on man check it out...
Ok I found this... Drink Up.

Well I hate it when something screws up. Today, I go to cut the grass after the past week of rain, drizzle and otherwise inhospitable to outside home improvement weather. But it the lawnmower refused to cooperate. WHY? and WHY NOW?

I mean only one maybe two more cuts to do? What makes it worse is I got part of the lawn, what makes that even worse the that part is in the front of the house. Murphy's Law comes to mind.

Bunch of shit I guess.

Ok, enough about the lawnmower. It's been a busy week, still updating music and here's the next update, this update took place sometime between 10.10.09 through 10.13.09, up to this point I've roughly added sixty-one discs. Most of Susan's.. Trust me that was great.

So in this small time frame I added...sixty seven more finishing up all of Susan's ~ well at least those of hers that are organized.

Mostly a bunch of country and pop.. I was cringing at the idea of doing this. So how did this random smattering turn out?

The Nixons - ... At The Sun - The Nixons- 1997, was the year, pretty much the year I moved back to the Milton area from Parkersburg. This was a band that the new radio station FM 94.5 is it? ( I don't know, I mostly listen to Sirius or my iPhone anymore ) but this was popular then, not this song but another from that album, and this year and the late '90s were full of bands with a similar sound, Wallflowers, Goo Goo Dolls, the list goes on. Currently residing in the "Where Are They Now" file.

STP - Coma - Shangri-La Dee Da - after this disc, you kind of knew the end was approaching for this band. Yes, this disc had a track or two that wasn't half bad, but it was more Cheap Trick, than Plush. This song wasn't great then and still isn't.

Biohazard - Inner Fear On - Biohazard- hmmm piano's at the beginning leading into a pretty good guitar riff... Pretty good tune from a decent disc... more punkish than metal, but not great punk so I call it more metal.

Monster Magnet - Silver Future - Heavy Metal 2000- yes from the Soundtrack, to this bad remake of a classic movie. Fortunately this song is grooving and good. Monster Magnet is pretty damn good when they're being themselves, and not something they're not. What does that mean? I don't know, but this type of stoner metal vibe they do great. Up tempo, then slow grooving in a Nick Cave sort of way. One of the Best songs on this soundtrack.

Billy Idol - Buried Alive - Heavy Metal 2000- ok we get the noticeable growl, and Mr. Idol starts out in that distinctive voice. Make you realize where have I heard this guy? Pretty good track. But as this was back in 2K, and you haven't heard anything from him, well you can guess it wasn't that great to resurrect his career.

Madonna - Papa Don't Preach - The Immaculate Collection- this a bad remix of this song. Hey in the '80s who didn't wish they could be hanging out with this chick? But this is just a bad remix.. why?

Heaven And Hell - Follow The Tears - The Devil You Know- Ronnie James Dio, sings his ass off on this disc, and this song is great. Makes you think that the rest of the Black Sabbath guys should just tell Ozzy to "Piss Off". This is a great disc very much in the Black Sabbath vibe. Grade A.

Motorhead - No Class - The Best Of Motorhead- this has a "School's Out" vibe going through it. That's probably why I can't get into it. It's pretty typical Motorhead. Sounds good loud, and in a smokey bar. But not through these shitty laptop speakers. (well nothing's really sounding good through them to be honest )

RATT - So Good, So Fine - Ratt- this disc just pretty much sucked. A 1999 regrouping effort after Pearcy's failed Arcade venture. It's got the hooks, and you can see where the band is trying to capture it's past sound. Just didn't do it for me then, but listening to it again now, well I wouldn't write home about it.

She Daisy - Punishment - SheDaisy- the only thing that's "punishment" about this song is that it is punishing to listen to. Typical Dixie Chick wanna bees.... and bad imitation of that.

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive - Pure Disco- if it wasn't for the ridiculousness of this song, I would say it sucks. But well its fun, guess that's why Susan and the girls have a Disco disc.

Fight - War Of Words - War Of Words- finally back to the good stuff, Rob Halford after telling everyone he's gay, has to put out a metal album, and by god he does. Great Album. Rob's voice is awesome. Still is.

Dixie Chicks - Give It Up Or Let Me Go - Wide Open Spaces...Ok I like the Dixie Chicks, feel free to pelt me with tomatoes. But I think Natalie Maines has a great voice and can belt tunes out the way I like em belted out. This song's a little too blue grassy for me, but it isn't bad. I just normally skip it.

Ok that's it for this bunch.

Anyhow.. it's now nine games WVU and Zero Games Marshall.

Marshall is demanding 1 for 1. WVU sounds like they're willing to go for a 2 for 1. Course you can read all about that on the various message boards.

My opinion is WVU doesn't need Marshall.. I don't often agree with Hoppy but this post sums it up nicelly.....

But the Smoking Musket does it even better... It's amazing how the people in this area (Greater Barboursville area) do just that, try to rewrite history. My mom calls, man they played them tough. ummm ok, but isn't that what they're supposed to do? It's amazing, the links in that last article pan out. That's why they call it the Herald Disgrace.

Bullshit....

Anyhow, that' being said, I was a little nervous when JB was out. I probably did say a few choice words not ment for my step daughters. But they're in junior high now, so they need to hear it.

It all came out on top.. and I survived my Sunday Morning Hangover.

Ripped more CD's did a little bike riding...

Tell you more later

In my case I don't get paid until Friday, so I'm spending that money today. Hey it's the credit generation, and Susan's out of town.

To allow me to even do more damage and partying while Susan's out and about, a guest blogger is submitting this most awesome of awesomess reviews.

A one the only Mr. Jim Fancher... I've nown Jim for several years and the guy has moved to the Paradise City of Morgantown. Amazingly being as unsocial as I can be, we've not managed to hook up during tailgates at WVU.

This must be remedied.

Anyhow, Jim is one of the biggest KISS fans I know, and KISS has a new disc out and so does Ace? Ace was my favorite so I'm doing his review first. Kiss can come later as you know my readers can't handle too many new posts in one week month.

So let's get started, after all I've got some drinkin' to do.

First, Jim's review is in this color. If I have a snide comment or two, I'm going to put it below his in this color. Similiar to how me and Susan did the Surf Bar review on Fork You.

So, last week I mentioned that I was back to exercising - or at least trying to on a regular basis. I did pretty good I think.

Broke out the bike, rode about 70 miles total, and went to the Y twice and jogged thunderously trotted another 6 miles.

Took a few vitamins, and drank several beers..

Ok, yeah it all comes screeching there once I mention the beer thing.

I can't help it I like it.

Hey Huntington made MSNBC again- that's why I'm trying to exercise, doing my part to swing the pendulum, then I'll go to the Pizza joint and swing it back the other way.

I jest, last week I even actually ate pretty healthily - minus the beer of course.

Oh, I hate to bring up work on my personal blog, but seems as though I spend most of my time exposing my literary genius while at work, I thought I should at least mention this.

My new job, requires me to do presentations (more often than I'd like ) and if you have to do presentations, well you probably do them in Microsoft Power Point. Well Susan showed me a new one... Prezi www.prezi.com . Did I mention that you can probably do it for free? Check it out if you have to do presentations.

OH, yeah..

The CD Collection..

Here's a sample of what I re-ripped last Friday:

Ok, the playlist starts off with one of Susan's discs...

Trick Pony - yes they're soon to be a one hit wonder... this song is called "Pour Me"... it's a play on "poor me"... see it's about being down and depressed and "pour me another drink". It's twangy, I don't get it. Much like the rest of the disc this track comes from.

Next up is another little rockabilly tune, that is much better than the last. By Social D's non other - Mike Ness. You see back in the late '90's Mr. Ness put out two Solo discs, this is the second one that I purchased, it's Mike covering several old tyme tunes. He does a great job, and in my opine - he sells it. That's the difference Mike sells it Trick Ponydoesn't. If you're not a Social D' fan or a Mike Ness fan more importantly, you should probably skip this disc, or you'll be enjoying Long Black Veil's and Johnny Cash.

From one of the best CD's of 2009 - Mastodon - Crack The Skye- If you don't like this disc, simple... go screw yourself. I am now a Mastodon fan. This 13 minute opus (yes I said 13 minutes) is called The Last Baron.

Chris Cornell - Scream - Take Me Alive- listen to this once and you'll know what I think of this piece of shit. Since putting this monstrosity out, Chris has alluded to in various media outlets that he doesn't think Soundgarden was finished. One spin of this shit, and you'll have to wonder if they would want to? This is probably the best track on the disc.

Holy Diver- Dio - Straight Through The Heart - wow - just wow.... This is one of those gems that I enjoy when I go back and listen...

Dope - No Regrets - this track called "Flat Line" is just that - a Flat Line.... thankfully it's only about 30 seconds long and leads directly into another Dope tune that is the disc's title track. "No Regret's" is pretty damn good - as a song, and as an album.

This song is so dirty, it even looks at you that way, and it's so Cool From the Wire, but because It's not the way that I rock, but instead the way that I roll... I'm not saying anything more about it. I'm surprised this band didn't do more.

Now after a little Dirty Looks, I'm going to have Sara Evan's (prior to her plump dancing with the stars appearance ) giving me a Bible Song. I don't know why it's titled that? It makes no sense to me. But anyway, this song is a typical pop country track. After releasing this, I'd probably joined Kirstie Alley and ate a truck load of ice cream. So I'm going to run as fast as I can away from this crap..

.. and right into...

More Mastodon - the first single off of Crack The Skye - Divination's - if you don't like this, well you need to see a shrink.

Slow it down some now.... we're going to cry over drunk boyfriends with Amy Lee and Evanescence. Ok I joke, but this chick can sing. I think she hangs out with Sara Evans and Kirstie Alley though, but that's just my opinion. So does Ann Wilson, and she can still belt out the tunes. This song is off the disc The Open Door, it's a piano ballad called Good Enough. It's pretty good in a moody sort of way.

Ok, this goes out to a long lost pal of mine "the '80's Man Of Mystery", its a tune called Tokyo from Dirty Looks from the Cool From The Wire circa 1988 Now the lyrics are typical hair band '80s. "we are Tokyo tonight" or "Susie Susie won't you come out and play".. I don't know, but it's good song. Beats Firehouse all to hell any day.

The final song that popped up out of this days burning session was a true rare find. Just when you think you've listened to all of your tunes you stumble across something that makes you think... WOW where the hell was this at? How have I missed this... Mother Love Bone - off the self titled disc. This disc is a compilation of this bands tunes I think. The song Mindshacker Meltdown, reminds me of the MC5 or Iggy and the Stooges.. This is a new favorite.
