The teddy bear mascot outside a chocolate shop in Canada has been swiped by wiley kidnappers. They left a ransom note demanding 1,700 pounds of chocolate in exchange for the safe return of the bear, aptly named Truffles.

The chocolate shop owners felt the bear-nap was not malicious, but it is unclear as to whether they will be able to meet the extraordinary ransom demand.

We've had 12 full fan confessions to this most heinous of crimes on the Cadbury Dairy Milk Facebook page, with even more chocolate fans hellbent on rescuing poor Truffles.

We'll update you with news as it happens... ;-)
<xhtml:img xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/typepad/bzgQ/~4/lJNVr0Bpldc" height="1" width="1" />

There we'll join legendary weatherman, Mr Michael Fish, as he switches on a radiant pool of Ghanaian sunshine. And here is why...

During Fairtrade Fortnight (which kick off next Monday folks) 20% of all profits from every bar of Fairtrade Cadbury Dairy Milk sold, will go to providing solar panels for Ghanaian communities.

It's all part of the wonderful ongoing work done by the Cadbury Cocoa Partnership in Ghana. The solar panels will be installed later this year and will benefit schools, community centres and clinics. And of course, the people who attend them! We'll have more on those stories over the next few weeks from our friends in Ghana, but in the meantime, back to that gorgeous sunshine and Michael Fish.

We have an exclusive Q&A with Michael tomorrow and all the questions we'll be putting to him come from the Cadbury Dairy Milk Facebook fans. Now, with a 4am start to aim for, we're not long for this world...

Yesterday we spotted pictures of a chocolate room that has been unveiled in Lithuania. Here's one of the beautiful images we posted on our Cadbury Dairy Milk Facebook page, and you take a look at the whole gallery by clicking here.

Clever chocolate artisans have created everything from chocolate, even down to the cutlery, decorations and light fittings. Not only that but the whole room will be dismantled next month, broken up into chunks and distributed for chocolate lovers to munch on. Lucky Lithuanians. We recommend a trip there if you can make it.

Our Facebook fans loved it so much that well over 2,500 Likes later they started discussing what they would make out of chocolate. Here's our top 10 faves...

Water park with chocolate slides and hot chocolate pools

Giant steam train - imagine the chocolate vapours. Yum!

Aeroplane - the only why to fly

Duvet - for a cheeky nibble at bedtime

The members of Westlife - larger than life of course

Endless chocolate bar - very Willy Wonka

Chocolate finger nails - so biting your nails is no longer a nasty habit

Library, so you can eat your book when you've read it - what about the late fines?!

Choccy dress - all the better to eat the bottom off and turn into a miniskirt

A giant chocolate planet - say no more, everything would be chocolate

Can you do better than that? Tell us what you would make out of chocolate :-)

We're delighted to read news of the first ethically sourced gold given the FAIRTRADE Mark. It's a ground-breaking change that will bring the benefits of Fairtrade to small-scale gold miners around the world. And with Fairtrade Fortnight just around the corner, it couldn't be better timing.

But with Fairtrade Fortnight coming up at the end of this month, it's a particularly hot topic. Which brought to our attention this rather marvellous animation by graphic design student Kayleigh Pullinger.

The brief was to get people fired up about Fairtrade and we think it's thoroughly inspiring. Have a watch...

Kayleigh explained how she came to make the animation:

"The video started as a university project, with a brief from YCN, which asked us to create a short film that would instil in the viewer a lifelong passion for Fairtrade.

"I did some research into Fairtrade and other similar campaign films, and decided two things: 1) I wanted to highlight the huge variety of Fairtrade products to emphasise how easy it is to support them just by doing your weekly shop. 2) I didn't want the video to be too serious.

"By using wordplay based around Fairtrade products, I created a script, then broke that script into scenes. I then hand drew the words and accompanying pictures bit by bit, and photographed them at every stage, creating a kind of 2D stop-motion film from around 900 images.

"The next step was using video editing software to get the timing right and adding in the soundtrack. It was my first ever attempt at making a video like this, and I have to say, it was one of my favourite projects to date!"

Amazing stuff, thanks Kayleigh. Some Fairtrade Cadbury Dairy Milk is winging its way to you...
