The Queen City ranks 89th in the Nation in salaries!
Annual salaries in the Charlotte metro area are higher than most American cities, according to a report by On Numbers.
The Queen City ranked 89th out of 406 cities with average annual pay of $44,630, or $21.46 an hour, based on salary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Workers in the San Jose, Calif., area earn the biggest paychecks in America with average annual pay of $67,850.
The average hourly rate in Charlotte $21.46, Durham $25.59, Raleigh $21.54 (note Charlotte's number of employee's is double Durham/Raleigh).

Charlotte continues to add Energy jobs! Simens begins large expansion in the Charlotte community adding 100's of energy jobs to the Charlotte area.
Siemens will build and refurbish gas turbines for U.S. and worldwide customers in the 450,000-square-foot addition, which adjoins an existing, 700-worker steam turbine and generator plant. Siemens has hired another 700 workers since announcing the expansion early last year and expects to bring in 400 more by 2014.
