I'm inspired by my daughter-in-law to occasionally go for a walk and just enjoy the scenery. I'm usually inserting running intervals and chasing that elusive dream of running faster than I did the last time out. Today I walked down by the now-almost-dried-up lakebed. A gentle breeze was blowing and I thoroughly enjoyed the hour.

I did a 4.8 mile walk/run today. I was cold for the first mile or so, then warned up fast. I'm trying to shave a few more seconds off my pace, so I decreased my walking intervals from 3.5 minutes to 3 minutes. I feel the difference in my breathing, but my legs and feet are taking the change well. I hope to get down to 2.5 minute walking intervals by my next half marathon at the end of May.

The first half of this week was 32 degrees - cold and snowy. The last two days seemed more like spring weather. It got to 70 today. I did five miles this afternoon after taking a few days off because of a sore throat. I wanted to keep walking but figured I had better not push myself too hard right after battling a cold. It was gorgeous out there today!
