DriveWorks World - The Movie .... Filming

With the venue for SolidWorks World this year being so close to Hollywood and with James Cameron as the keynote speaker we decided to inject a little star quality in to DriveWorks World.

Here are two of our stars - Bill Taylor and Jeremy Regnerus of SolidWorks learning their lines and being filmed prior to the movie. Thanks guys - can't wait to post the out-takes to my blog too!

Setting up the DriveWorks booth at SolidWorks World - Anaheim

24 hours of car/plane/plane and car again and here we are in Anaheim, building the booth and getting ready for what we are told is going to be a record breaking SolidWorks World

The convention centre is really impressive and it's great to have everything located so close together. A second hop from the hotel and we are in Partner Pavilion, amazing arena where the General Sessions will take place and the meeting rooms upstairs.

I checked out room 204c which is where I am presenting on Monday. Lots of chairs in there!

Start of a journey to SolidWorks World 2010

Ok so maybe this isn't the best photo.

But it IS early in the morning, we have a long journey ahead of us from Manchester UK to Anaheim California.... and a lot of luggage!

DriveWorks - Going that extra mile!

So the snow came down last night and everything stopped.

Cars were abandoned by the roadside, the council ran out of grit and salt, but the DriveWorks Team were determined to get to the office. Sarah and I took the scenic route along the Bridgewater Canal. We probably covered an extra mile walking along the canal to the office but the good old English spirit prevailed we greeted our fellow walkers with hearty "Good Mornings" and beaming smiles. We arrived in the office rosy cheeked and full of good cheer.

We all appreciate that it's great to save a bit of time and that is one of the reasons I'm such a big fan of automation. Now we have something NEW for all those people with DriveWorksXpress - in other words EVERY SolidWorks User (with 2008/2009/2010). Now we have our very own Content Store. Now SolidWorks users can go to the DriveWorksXpress Content Store, browse content and then download it and use it.

We have made each project a Single file download with one click installation to make sure all SolidWorks users are up and running with the minimum of fuss!

Thank you to all that baked cakes on Friday and all who came to our offices to eat and donate to Macmillan Cancer Care - donations amounted to 270 pounds and then DriveWorks matched it to make it 540.

Friday September 25th has been selected to be the date of the world's biggest coffee morning.

The idea for the event has come from Macmillan who provide amazing support for cancer sufferers and their families. Here at DriveWorks we want to do our bit too so we are busy baking and looking forward to welcoming our friends for tea, coffee and cakes.
