I know I promised earlier I would reduce my amount of quote/photo posts, but I gave in. Actually this blog will be moving soon to a new space. A place where I can share some more personal thoughts candidly. In the mean time, take my offering of photos. Just to remind you, nature photography is a growing hobby for me. Here is a photo I took in the Muir Woods at the end of last year. I love the darkness of the woods, the lush greens, and peeps of sunlight. Something I look forward to in the future are photo trekking expeditions. You can go with a team of photographers and nature guides and explore the terra firma on feet with your lens and backpack. Everybody is snap happy. So you don't feel like you are over doing it. (Photogs: You know what I mean). I am going to make it happen this year. Don't know when or where yet, but this year for sure. This photo kind of reminds me of "Avatar". I know it's completely different. But, it does. Does it for you? Am I the only one? BTW-- I am torn between Cameron and Bigelow. Loved both their works. Genius.

Dear Blog,

Lovely, trusty blog, how the heck have you been? I love how we talk to each others voice mail. I love how twitter can no longer keep us connected. What can I say? I've been a busy bee. I grew out of some things. I would be lying to you dear blog if I didn't admit I did at times wonder if this blog and blogger friendship would continue any longer. Were we actually growing apart? Is it at all possible?

Dear Blog, I am going to give you another chance. You've been good to me. Yes, life is taking us to other directions and me to new creative outlets; but that doesn't mean I can't visit! I mean, how can I part with 4 years of ranting, sharing, and blurbs? [8 yrs of blogging to be exact!]

I do owe you a teeny apology. I left you in a lurch with photo posts and quotes. I promise to give you more attention. I will make a concentrated effort to post more of my choice rants and raves. No more one liners for the sake of posting. From now on our visits maybe few, but they will not be cheap. No pity posts.

I am going to give you the 5 star treatment my dear blog. You deserve it. [so do the readers!]Oh my darling little cubby space on the world wide web, I am going to give you a well-deserved make over this year. I am going to introduce you some new friends and readers. I might even redirect you to another blog I just created. You my friend, are in for the ride. You deserve a good swift wave of change. It is time. Oh btw, remind me to tell you about 2009. Ridiculous. Crazy. Lovely.

What else can I tell you? Maybe I can share with you my new projects and new gigs? Perhaps, I can dig a little deeper and share with you my epiphanies and light bulb moments since my move to LA? I know you loved the music posts, so maybe this year we can do video posts? Sound good?That's all I have to say to you tonight Dear Blog. I hope to share more in the future. Hope all of you are spending the winter holidays with some good souls! I don't celebrate Christmas, but I do want to wish everyone a Seasons Greetings. Belated Eid Mubarak, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza, Merry Christmas, and if it was your Birthday, then Happy Birthday. Whatever you are celebrating, remember to take a moment out and breath in those quiet moments. I am on my way to Big Sur and San Francisco for the Winter Holiday. Hope to post some pictures upon my return.

I think it's time for heart to heart on this blog. It is long over due. I need this year to be full circle. A year that has been good to me beyond words, and also, quite eye opening and challenging. I rarely share any personal info. anymore via the blog, but I feel it is necessary to reconnect with some of my readers. Just in case some of you thought I was a blog generator ;).

I feel this is important for me on a deeper level. If we are to be authentic people that we claim to be then I should be able to dispel and share at my fancy.

The Thought for Today is:

"Don't assume anything. If you want to know something for sure, it is best to ask the source. If you go to 3rd party people to get the story, you will most likely cloud your ability to know the full story. This can be applied to business, friendships, and journalism. In any case, I am the best source on all subjects concerning me; as you are to You."

Also, it is okay to say, "We are not close." Pretending for the sake of social politics is cowardly. Say it with conviction and close the book.

Loyal Little Bird

The photographs you see show how a very determined male bird tries to save his female mate that has been seriously injured. Here the female bird is injured and her condition is not good. The male bird brings her food and attends to her with love and compassion. Although he tries to help her, she is too badly injured and dies. He is shocked over her death and tries desperately to bring her back to life, trying to pull her up and make her move. He finally realizes that his sweetheart has passed away and will never come back to him, and brokenhearted - he cries over his lost love. He stands by her side, calling and crying for help. He is devastated by her death. Finally realizing that she will never return to him, he stands beside her lifeless body with great sadness and sorrow, unable to leave her side. The photos of these two birds are said to have been taken in the Republic of the Ukraine. This male bird was bound and determined to save his female mate. The photographer sold these pictures for a small price to one of the most famous newspapers in France. All the copies of that newspaper were sold out on the day they published these photos.
