I started making this card using Love and Laughter from the Occasions Mini.

But it wasn't quite the look that I was thinking of and the color of the Lucky Limeade Pleated Satin Ribbon does not show well in this shot and could be due to not enough lighting when I took the picture. I started out with the idea of having the middle of the Snow Burst embossing folder omitted and after stamping the dress, it seemed like there was a lot of "empty" space around the dress and the ribbon was sitting on my table so i seemed like a good idea to use it to take away some of the white space.

The bow at the top is the - I call it "flouncy" ribbon that is one of the SAB items you can choose from this year's offerings. The correct name is 1/8" Organdy Ribbon.

Not being too satisfied with the first go with this set, I made this one.

And I love it! Once again I used the same technique for the white panel with the Elegant Lines embossing folder for this one. As the design on this folder is not a full coverage, it had some empty space at the bottom and in this case, it seemed to look better with all the white space. Rhinestones are dotted in the various circle areas and the "flouncy" ribbon is wrapped around the bottom of the card and centred with the little flower image from the same set. A small piece of the ribbon is attached to the waist with a tiny rhinestone in the middle.

Which version do you like? Leave a comment and let me know which one you prefer.

The Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and Ribbon and Brad Pack from this year's Sale-A-Bration brochure are simply yummy! The organdy ribbon is very easy work with and is, of course, co-ordinated so well with the brads and ribbon.

Crayon Resist is a technique that's been around for so long and yet not often seen so I thought I'd use the Growing Green stamp set (p. 118, #118758, $26.95 WM, #120624, $20.95, CM) to use this technique.

The card base is Calypso Coral and the second layer is a piece of the Everyday Enchantment DSP. The images are stamped on Glossy White card stock (p. 181, #102599, $7.25 for 25 sheets) with Black Staz-On ink and then outlined with a white crayon. Calypso Coral and Pool Party classic ink is applied to the card with sponges and after applying the ink, use a paper towel to rub over the card front and you will see where the crayon has resisted the color.

Place the Glossy White piece on the Top Note die and run through the Big Shot. After adding some of the Calypso Coral 1/8" Organdy Ribbon pinched through one of the co-ordinating brads, punch a hole in the corner of the Top Note piece and secure onthe back.

The sentiment is from Thank You Kindly set (p. 168, #111700, $16.95) stamped with black ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the Modern Label punch (p. 209, #119849, $22.95). Punch a piece of Calypso Coral with the Modern Label punch, cut it in half and place behind the sentiment to give it a mat on the ends.

Place some dimensionals on the back of the top note piece and adhere to the DSP panel and also add some dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhere to the front of the top note piece.

Shop 24/7 at your convenience RIGHT HERE!. Spend $60 (taxes and shipping not included) and claim your free Sale-A-Bration item.

Don't you just love the Rue des Fleurs stamp set in the Mini? (p. 22, #125485, $36.95 WM, #125487, $28.95 CM).

Here's my first card using it and I can see a lot more cards and projects froming trom this lovely stamp set.

I also got a chance to put the Adorning Accents Edgelit die and Adorning Accents Embossing Folder to use/

Cut the Whisper White card stock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4". I put the edgelit near the edge of the right front of the card and ran it through the Big Shot. I next positioned the matching embossing folder just below the cut edgelit side and then ran it through the Big Shot.

Cut another piece of Whisper White card stock 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and cut the edge with the edgelit die. Then place the card stock in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and run it through the Big Shot.

Trim this piece to form the third "layer" on the front of the card and adhere it to the front panel of the card with Sticky Strip.

The image from Rue des Fleurs is stamped with Black Staz-on ink and color is added with a Blender Pen picking up color from the Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzazz classic ink pads. Tiny pearls are added to the front of the bustier and a bit of dazzling diamons is added to the top to give it a bit of sparkle.

Use the smallest framelit from the Label Collection and run it through the Big Shot. Cut the next size framelit from Pretty in Pink card stock and mat it behind the stamped image. This is then added to the front of the card with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts in the Mini (p. 15, #125843, $36.95 WM, #125845, $28.95 CM) It is stamped with Black Staz-on Ink on a piece of Whisper White card stok and then punched with the retired small Oval Punch. Punch a piece of Pretty in Pink with the current sized small Oval punch and the sentiment is adhered in an offset position on the Pretty in Pink oval. Add this to the front of the card also with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by and tomorrow is another opportunity to spend more time at the stamp table - happy stamping!

We also worked on a couple of make and takes - this one is great for using up all those odds and ends of cardstock.

The card base is Basic Black cardstock cut 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". Cut five strips of cardstock 1" x 3 3/4" - starting at the top with Real Red, Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette. The heart was cut with Real Red cardstock using the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit (p. 216, #117332, $14.95) and then punching out some hearts in Pink Pirouette using the Small Hearts Punch (p. 210, #117913, $7.95).

The stamp set we used was PS I Love You from the new Occasion Mini (p. 8, #125460, $42.95 WM or #125462, $33.95 CM).

On the inside of the card, we cut a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock and adhered it to the back panel and stamped the sentiment "p.s. I love you" from the stamp set.

The second make and take is a case of the card on page 9 of the Occasions Mini.

I Love You stamp set using a Cherry Cobbler marker to ink it up. My Blushing Bride Smooch Sprtiz hadn't arrived in time (it's coming this week!) so we sponged on some Cherry Cobbler ink. The button is from the Soft Subtles group of button and we added some Cherry Cobbler twine. The button is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment is stamped on the front of the card using Early Espresso classic ink.

I could only manage to watch the Super Bowl game to the start of the 3rd quarter and just had to go to bed as my cough started up and it is so tiring. So after a spoonful of cough syrup, I was nodding off and went to bed about 5:30 p.m.! And I was so very pleased with the outcome with the Giants winning the game when I read the papers the next morning. It would have been a wreck if I had been able to stay up and watch the whole game so it was just as well that I fell asleep.

Sale-A-Bration is in full swing and you want to be sure to get in on some of the free product (with a purchase of $60 without taxes and shipping). Place your order RIGHT HERE! any time of the day or night.

Things have finally settled down that I now have my stamp room/office set up that I can feel comfortable to play with my new toys. Everything has been so unsettled since our move and only now coming together.

When I saw this set in the Occasions Mini, I knew I had to have it as well as the Labels Collection Framelits Die.

The framelits are fabulous and makes the cutting of the image so easy!

The card is made with Early Espresso with a mat of So Saffron placed in the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then rolled through the Big Shot.

The image is stamped with Early Espresso on Whisper White and colored with Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery and Pear Pizzazz markers. The sentiment is stamped on Pink Pirouette with Early Espresso Classic Ink.

After matting the image on a piece of Pink Pirouette cut one size larger than the stamped image it is adhered to the So Saffron panel with dimensionals. The sentiment is finished with two half pearls on the ends.

We're also making changes to this site - be on the lookout for those new changes coming soon!

Winter has definitely descended upon us in Lotus Land. With minus Celcius temps, it's freezing outside! We've now been in our new place for a couple of weeks and each day Bella makes several visits to the pet area in the complex and as we were returning from our morning visit yesterday, we stopped at the mail boxes to pick up our mail and there was this beautiful card that Kathleen had sent to welcome us to our new home.

The card is exquisite with the detail to the colouring and blending and the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder adding the perfect frame for the picture.

Thanks Kathleen for the beautiful card and giving me something to post! It's been so long because of our move and downsizing is always a challenge - especially if you're a SU demonstrator! It's amazing all the stamps and supplies one accumulates over the years - I didn't know I had that set! Sound familiar?

Sale-a-Bration is just a week away with some very new and exciting products you can receive for free with every $60 work of regular product purchased. And if you have ever thought of becoming a demo, now is the time to do it as there is a special sign up offer for the Starter Kit for only $150!
