Donnie Arnoult, the cycling pro that owns and operates Go Cycling Maui in Maui, Hawaii is not only one of the best cyclist trainer I have ever met, I am honored to call him a dear friend as well.  Donnie knows how to push me to my limits and to get the best out of me.  On this ride to the Kula region, Donnie led me and a small group up 2,000 feet of pure climbing, for a total of 26 miles over 2 plus hours of peddling.

Thanks for Donnie my friend, for seeing the best in me, and finding a way to get it out (smile).  Check out Go Cycling Maui the next time you visit Maui, Hawaii.  it is always my first stop.

Maui 2009 002  There really is no place like cycling in Maui, with its collection of rolling hills and, well, steeper hills. It is basically non-stop climbing and great training for anyone.  And it is all done in simply one of the most beautiful climates and environments in the world.

This was my second time out on this trip, and was an important series of rides because it really was the first time back on my bike in months.  It felt really, really good.  If you have not tried cycling, you should. The first time you ride 20 miles or more, you will feel as if you can accomplish anything.

This week I have once again enjoyed the enormous pleasure of cycling through a slice of heavon; Maui. It is a place the Bryant family returns to at least twice a year, and when I am able to get away, even more often. The riding here is demanding to say the least, with an endless stream of hills and mountains (actually a volcano) to climb. I have stopped complaining about the constant climbing and on this trip in particular, I am learning to embrace it. If I can concur climbing here, with strengthened lungs and legs, there is only benefit to me. And so, this is my charge while here - enjoy climbing. In the meantime, doesn't this ocean view, and that cool all carbon Giant bike, look good? Smile.

If you are good to it, it will be good to you. People ask me how it is I am able to log more 300,000 air miles annually. Well, in part, this is the reason. I work hard to take care of myself. No one else will. </p><p>My sweetie loves me, but she cannot take care of me, completely. Only I can do that.
