&lt;p&gt;TED lecture lesson plan Institution versus collaboration&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Introduction&lt;br /&gt;I chose this because… teachers have the worst of both worlds…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Instructions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before watching the video:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;While watching the movie - jot down quotes that have a resonance for you&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Write down your observation and questions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;…………………………………..&lt;br /&gt;RESOURCES – info, links etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Models of organic versus hierarchical (trees in database blog)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Quotes&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Points / how applicable to school setting&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What questions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;…………………….&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Observations:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How was the ProD prepared - delivered?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How is it institutional model ProD prepared - delivered?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Idea – one person&lt;br /&gt;Prep – 3 hours&lt;br /&gt;Cost – &lt;br /&gt;Institutional support&lt;br /&gt;………………………………………………………..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ways to collaborate &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The online/ digital environment - face-to-face&lt;br /&gt;E- mail (advantages – time space)&lt;br /&gt;Face-to-face (takes time, person etiquette, physical place and presence)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;………&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Incorporate ACCESS issues&amp;nbsp; - too much info&lt;br /&gt;…………..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Creative Solutions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What can be accomplished best online?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What can be accomplished best in person?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Teacher/educator collaboration&lt;br /&gt;Model: teacher –teacher-librarian&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;B Classroom (how much in person/ how much online)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Suggestion:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Internal learning: reading, writing, thinking&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;External learning: communication best with physical presence – so much lots body language, irony, facial expression, pacing, timing – jumping in at right time – nuanced back and forth – not paragraph exchanges&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Opinion - In order to be a good online communicator, one must be a good writer – most people aren’t – also must be text-based brain (or use images)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Special skill – communication on line –write guidelines – we are practiced in daily conversation – students learning English are more accomplished in conversation – their writing is awkward&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Result – special online language – text message shortcuts to express emotions – superficial and flawed (What does OMG really communicate?)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;.................................&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
