082 I just love release days! I am sharing today one of the cool new stamps I get to play with that are being released in November. Today you would have hopped here from Bev's blog or if you need to start at the beginning please click here to start at the QKD main blog.

Today's share is with Monarch Mia and she was really easy and fun to colour. I wanted to play up her tail and make it look like butterfly wings...I was happy with how it turned out! Not sure if you can tell in the pic but I added a thick glaze to her tail and sprinkled in glitter to give it some extra oomph. I am going to see a friend of mine tomorrow who just had a new baby and this card is for her. I used copic markers to colour the image then used some fun paper, die cuts and embellishments that were in the same shades of aqua blue as the paper. I had to use the crystal butterfly too, it just seemed to go with Miss Monarch Mia tee hee.

024 It's the weekly hop and if you have come here from Bev's blog you are half way through. If you are just starting out click here to start at the beginning, the QKD blog. This week's challenge at QKD was to pull colours from an inspiration photo (see below) and use our QKD stamps to see what we come up with! I went more with the browns, pinks, purples and a splash of blue- just like the pic. I used the just released Guardian of Love with background stamp (you can click on the name to go right to her at the store). I had also been reading on lots of blogs about those of you who stamped and coloured on kraft paper so I thought I'd give it a try. I kind of like the cool look it gives to the image. My only regret is that I saw most of you do it as a no layer card- stamping right on the kraft paper and colouring. I wanted to do that too but I got really ambitious and added lots of sparkle glue and it made my paper buckle and look soggy. So for a no layer card- I don't recommend liquid glue, glitter or sparkle- it takes away from the clean look. Instead of tossing the card out I wanted to make the most of the cool image and the effect of colouring on that paper so I cut it out and used some funky paper to help bring more browns into the photo. I also kept to the kraft card base to bring it all together- hope you like how it turned out! I think the Guardian looks sooo serene on this card and I have to say she is a really sweet stamp to play with and so versatile.

008Oh Posey...you warm my heart- you shouldn't have girl- those flowers are lovely!!!! I wanted to use Posey on this week's challenge. The hostess for this  week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge is Vicki  who I had the pleasure to meet at the launch party AND I LOVE HER...trust me this woman is phenominal...just wanted to giver her a quck shout out. I love what she inspired us this week for her Shades of Autumn challenge. So fun and perfect right now. To play along we had to use Brown, Rust and either Green or Yellow on our designs!!

I used my brand new paper that I heart by Basic Grey- Indian Summer- full of lucious colour! I also used my new nesties...and I was tickled to see that Kimmie and I not only used the same image and same nesties but we both also coloured her dress with rust colours. We really are stampin soul sistah's lol!!! The copics I used were E000, E00, W1, E07, E08, RV25, RV29, R20, YG95, E25, E27, E29, C1 and my colourless blender for the boo boo's lol.

Now on this gloomy fall Saturday here in SW Ontario pop over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog and get ready to fall in love with the shares the Krafty Girls have for you. I used Victoria again as we are getting closer to Halloween and she is a Halloween vixen to me all the way! The first card I made with her went over really well! I had so many of my friends who wanted me to make them a card with Victoria the Vixen so I have to make up so more with this lovely lass.
