I am not cut out for NaBloPoMo. I do not post regularly. I don't like it either. :P

Maybe if I already had an established blog posting regime but I don't. Fun while it lasted I suppose.

I intended to write about something but I suddenly have an annoying headache so... well I'm reading The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year volume one. I've never read much in either genre but I grabbed the book of the shelf as Matilda was running wild under foot. I guess to be accurate I'm not reading it yet, I'm going to go start now, but either way I'll let you know what I think.

I have yet to crochet a scarf for my long lost friend, the dishcloths for my neighbor, or anything else but I did manage to knit a mini puff daddy for Matilda (accidentally). Photos to follow. I had the wrong size needles, and only 1 strand of yarn when it calls for two. Trouble is that she's wears it then pulls on the puff to try and get it off, which only strangles her. Not quite age appropriate I think. I did learn that I can knit, it's pretty easy overall, but casting on sucks my spleen.

Unrelated: I've been thinking about my love of tiny houses and I don't think I could manage it with the babe. Not to mention what happens if you want someone to move in with you?! I this will just have to remain a torrid love affair from afar.

I have things I want to talk about but I don't this is the time to be posting about them on here. For instance, I have some dating prospects. Yay me! But I don't know who reads this, well not much of anyone lately, and I don't want to jinx anything. And there are some additional job prospects. While not really anything fancy, I wouldn't want to say or do anything to thwart my chances at some extra holiday money. Especially since I have the whole week of Thanksgiving off. And I need to switch car insurance carriers. And I need to pay Hannah back for buying my season pass.

Snowboarding. Wow I haven't been snowboarding in 2 years. First my folks bought me a season pass for the 06-07 season but not a month after doing so I turned up pregnant with my wunderkind. So needless to say I didn't get to go snowboarding at all that year. And last year? Last year I had a new baby I was (still am) breastfeeding. Breastfeeding didn't have to keep me away but it made an easy excuse. In reality I couldn't bear to separate myself from her all day for the sake of going up the mountain, and I was tired and lazy and out of shape from being pregnant and having a melon pass through my woohoo. This year though Hannah was nice enough to get me a cheapy cheap group rate on a season pass to Stevens, and she is also my new boarding buddy. (But as much as I love Hannah, I'm hoping for my dating prospect to fill the seat.) (Not that they both can't come.) (When I type in parentheses I feel like I'm whispering into a canyon.) (Hellooo in there) Anyways, I'm hoping to really get my money's worth and get in awesome shape and have some fun. Seeing as I have Wed and Fri's off it should be easy, and a lot less crowded than the weekends. Should only be a few more weeks till they're open. Hello anticipation!

Unrelated: I just had a twinge in my back that scared the shit out of me. I swear it felt like someone poked me but no one is around. I jumped a few feet, and only because my muscle spasmed. Awesome.

We're going to discriminate against a group of people, not grant them the same rights as everyone else? Like it or not it's flat out wrong. No opinions, no religion, no debating. Just wrong.

Unrelated: The babies slept for near 2 hours today. What did I do with the sudden expansion on my 'free' time? I read a book and fell asleep with them. So much for getting things done. To be fair, I forgot my crocheting goodies at home so I couldn't have worked on them but... that's not really a much better reason. Tomorrow is yet another long day so maybe I can get them to sleep well again. And if I don't get my sleeping schedule back in order I might be falling asleep with them more often than I'd like.

So on Mandajuice she once talked about cooking her green beans with chicken base and even though I'm not a fan of green beans I decided I had to try it. Umm, yeah. De.lic.ous. I'm not sure what her method was/is but I put some butter, a touch of olive oil (to help the butter not burn), about a 1/2 t. of chicken base, 1/4 C. water, S&P to taste, and the cleaned green beans in a pan. I turn it up to med-high to get it simmering, then turn it down until all the water has evaporated and the beans are cooked. Thats it. So quick and easy, so tasty. I think it only takes about 10 minutes total, I wasn't really paying attention this time. But if you're not a big green bean fan maybe you should try them this way, then decide.

Tomorrow night I'm making a pork tenderloin. Never cooked one before but how hard can it be... no really? I know how I'm going to cook it, but not how I'm going to season it. I've only ever cooked pork maybe 2-3 times so I don't have any idea which direction to go with the flavor. I have some research to do. Again, this is something I'm not really a fan of... pork. For a while I wouldn't eat it at all. I just didn't like the flavor of pig. I had tenderloin, chops, mixed in with other foods, ribs, whole roast pig... didn't like it. But recently I tried a pork chop, that I had cooked, and it wasn't bad. Someone else had been posting about tenderloins and so I bought some at Costco. Now here I am. If you have any suggestion for flavorings let me know. Otherwise I'll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.
