Enhancing Your Visual Brand

As we dog paddle along in the ever changing waters of technology and social media, sometimes it feels like it's all we can do to keep our head above water. A few years ago, ok, maybe five or ten, it was ok if a business didn't have a website. Now? Consider it professional suicide if you don't have web presence. It's not a matter of are you on the web, but how do you look on the web? I admit, I'm spread out a little thin on the web but have managed to keep a consistent look - you can find me here, here and here oh and here too.

I did an interview with Famous Alice for my radio show, she's a personal branding expert with an emphasis on visual branding. It's interesting because no matter how far along you are, you realize there's always more to learn. Bumped Book Signing at Lucy Florence

Author and freelance writer Sibylla Nash will sign and discuss her new book, “Bumped,” her latest project which addresses the issue of trust in relationships and how a successful woman attempts to get past the incredible betrayal of a loved one. Come on by Dec. 3 from 6 - 8:30 pm, Lucy Florence Coffee House and Cultural Center, 5671 West Pico Blvd, Los Angeles.

The book signing will culminate with an audience-participation panel discussion featuring award-winning syndicated columnist Darryl James and award-winning veteran journalist Kathy Williamson, who will moderate the discussion.

The event is free to the public. Refreshments will be served.

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in print journalism, Nash has written hundreds of articles for a variety of publications and websites, including Vibe, Essence, The Chicago Tribune and Launch.com. Her topics include subjects ranging from entertainment, to parenting issues, to topical matters.

As an entertainment writer, Nash has interviewed celebrities such as Academy Award-winning actors Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe; Academy Award nominee Will Smith; comedians/actors Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx and Kim Coles; and actress Constance Marie.

James currently writes for the Los Angeles Sentinel, Unleashed magazine, The EUR and New York’s Newsday, among many other publications. He is in high demand for lectures and discussions based on his latest book on relationships, and his knowledge of rap music, the history of rioting in America, race relations, and issues facing Black America.

A former editor-in-chief for the Los Angeles Sentinel and Our Weekly community newspapers, Williamson is an award-winning, veteran journalist and publisher of L.A. Stylin', an on-line entertainment and lifestyles e-magazine. The proud single parent of an adult daughter, Williamson is known widely for her active participation in all issues that impact residents of the Greater Los Angeles community.

Come on down to the West Hollywood Book Fair on Sunday, 10/2/11. Not only can you check out the brand new ($64 million) library, tons of authors but I'll be there as well from 4 - 6 pm signing copies of Bumped in the West Hollywood Writes booths (A13-17). Not sure how much you could want on a Sunday afternoon all in one place. :) Hope to see you there!
