How to Flash Omnia to DZIA5 on VISTA Here, the steps to take.

Download official Firmware from Samsung by clicking here and choose Singapore for DZIA5 ROM.

Download a hex program such as ‘HxDen’.

http://www.pspmyspace.com/omnia/files/HxDen.zip

Enter *#638738#. Select Singapore and then click okay. Make sure you back up BEFORE, because it will FORMAT EVERYTHING!

Edit your registry, HKCU\ControlPanel\Version\CustomVersion to DZHJ1.

Now open the Hex program. Open i900DZIA5_updater_vista.exe. Search for i900DZ form the bottom up. Change the result to the first two letters to your phones version. NOT Firmware. So it becomes probably i900XX. Close Hex program.

Now connect your phone to the PC and wait for it to be connected to Windows Mobile Centre. Then run the update file you ‘hexed’.

Make sure you have sufficient battery. If the phone and update seem not to begin in 3minutes, reset the phone with your stylus and the update should go normaly.

Please take care when flashing. IT IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY (GOOD OR BAD) TO WHATEVER HAPPENS DURING THE FLASHING PROCESS!

This method was successful try out by one of my subscriber on his Windows Vista System. We will not be held responsible if anything goes wrong with the firmware upgrade. Upgrading firmware using Windows XP is more stable than the Windows Vista.

After Hard Reset of the Omnia, some users were unable to get pass the alignment screen and end up in a loop. It kept asking the users for the screen alignment.

Let's us give u a simple solution to work out of the screen alignment trap and work for most users. Press and hold the + sign and it will move to another location. Perform the same thing by pressing and hold the + sign and continue until screen alignment is complete. It is best to use a stylus to perform this job although your finger can also perform the same thing.

Another method is go to notepad and create a file called welcome.not and save it to the removable memory card. Put the removable memory card back to your Omnia and ON it. You will get past the screen alignment trap and Omnia will start up.

There is a bug in the calibration software and the only way to get around it is by modifying the registry editor. This only work if you are able to load the software is just performing screen alignment for better performance.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->HARDWARE->DEVICEMAP->TOUCH.
Change the key value for MaxCalError from 7 to a bigger value (for example 14).
Do a soft reset and start a manual re-Align of the screen.

You can download PHM Registry Editor if you do not have one by clicking here>>>
