I'm popping in quick with a quick sample from today's Stinkin' Cute card class. I was really nervous about this class. When you advertise something to be really stinkin' cute, the bar is set pretty high and what if "my" stinkin cute is really different from "your" stinkin' cute? And with several of my hostess clubbers having a lukewarm response to what I thought was a pretty stinkin' cute card from here...I was WORRIED.

But...cardstock must have been falling in a better place. I heard quite a few "stinkin' cutes" in both my am and pm sessions. I hope tomorrow's ladies love them too! I have room for you if you are available. 9:30am....Tuesday, May 14th

I am using several retiring items: Aviary Stamp Set, Lucky Limeade CS & Marker, Summer Smooches Paper and the most important retiring item...the Two Tags Die.. I've used it to create a little mini card on my bigger card. I've layered the inside with more Primrose and White CS with another bird and the Petite Pairs stamp set!

Get yours today! And if you use it as much as I do, you may want to get one for every crafting member of your family!

I'm Back...although, not 100% sure that I'm happy about this? :) Just kidding....we did arrive back home on Wednesday in the wee hours and so I think Most of the jet lag is gone and I'm only left with residual effects of "Tropi Brain". Apparently that's a mental state that is acheived in warmer, tropical climates that is evidenced by a numbing of the cerebral cortex resulting in a slower lifestyle and relaxed attitudes. After the hectic April we had, I relished in the Tropi Brain and have been pouting and whining to everyone that will listen about wishing I was back, relaxing in Fiji. Maybe it's being faced with mountains of laundry, stacks of paperwork, mine and my husbands. COLD WINDY WEATHER, and a defiant 6 year old that has spent too much time in front of the computer in the last few weeks that's making regret the return trip back. AND think part of the difficulty in accepting the harsh re-entry to reality is that I wonder if I'm kinda crabby because I really haven't stamped since the middle of APRIL? You think that could be part of it? or am I just plain old crabby...?

I'm slogging through my emails, voicemails and messages and I promise, I'm working on it as fast as my post-Tropi Brain will allow....Bear with me....

I did have Hostess Club this Friday and my "hostess friends" always are so fun to be with and so I did have to whip up a card for club....some of them had a little "problem" just scribbling with markers and weren't sure they liked the card. (Hey, I'm out of practice, I haven't created since mid-April!) but I think I liked the casual "tropi-brain" feel of it and it reminded me that this stamp set and coordinating folder (found in the new catalog!) was a pillow gift one of the nights in Fiji! Did I mention that we were treated very well and I loved Fiji?...

(Don't forget to get in touch with me as I have a copy of the catalog JUST for YOU! and it's free!)

So Enjoy...it really is good to be home. No more whining for today, I promise!

I'm beginning to worry that this nasty weather that we are "enjoying" may be MY fault. Not that I have an inflated value of my self worth or anything or that I have the power to influence weather but outside of global warming or other dire issues, what else could be the reason?! Here's my logic...I need heavenly intervention to stay focused and on task and I would assume if the weather was nice, I would out working in the flower beds, gardens, chicken coops or beehives and if the weather is nasty, I'm more than happy to stay inside with my stamps and coffee cup. And with the Scrapbook Expo coming up this week and our Camp Stamp-in-Oga next weekend, Heavenly Intervention is so necessary...so I'm beginning to worry, I'm the cause to this wintery mix of weather. Please don't hate me!

Since I'm enjoying the comforts indoors and staying focused and on task... here's what I did today already. One of the hardest kinds of cards to stamp for us, girls, is masculine cards and often, there isn't fabulous stamps to make our "chore" easy. So I'm delighted to say that Stampin' Up! has some really cool manly stamps. I LOVE our Dapper Dad set, the Harvest Blessings set, the Open Sea to name just a few of the more testosterone laden sets. So Cheryl and I decided that it would be fun to have a completely full board of manly card and scrapbook pages at the Expo this weekend. I used the Harvest Blessings set here.

Since I can't get in the garden just yet, (yes, I know, my fault!) I'll just have to settle for dreaming about it. :) Stop by and see us at the Expo this weekend on Fri or Saturday. We will have a lovely, more feminine, make and take, fabulous samples, some show specials AND the Plinko Board with us! Please stop by our booth!

I've got just a few seconds to pop in here before I run into the house, throw supper on the table and head in for a quick nap before work tonight. I switched up my nights with a co-worker who graciously agreed to work for me so I could work our booth at the Scrapbook Expo next weekend. Now, you know I get a bit crazy on a little bit of sleep but if I had to work at the HOSPITAL and work the Expo....oooh, who knows the CRAZINESS that would result! eeks, I shudder to think of it!

I had an absolutely most fantabulous day today. I had my Group Shoebox swap here at the house and some of my most favorite people came and stamped with me today. I have 13 OVER-THE-TOP gorgeous card samples to share with you! Oh man, they rock. Have you ever considered becoming a demonstrator? We have a very nice group of ladies that stamp together and we would love to have you in our stamping family! Contact me today....I'd love to share some additional info with you!

I'll share a few of our cards with you next week but I have to share a quick project that I did with our My Digital Studio yesterday. I have a niece that I adore and since they've moved to Texas over a year ago, she's grown up and her tastes have changed. Aunty Sarah isnt' always in the know, anymore. So thinking cap...gift for a pre-teen please! What has every pre-teen did, since time began? Yeah, we all kept a diary! So I figured Diary or Journal would be AWESOME....so here's the Journal that I did with our MDS and uploaded to our Stampin' Up! sight and in a week I should have a REALLY awesome gift for a really sweet girl. I'm 99.9% sure she doesn't follow my blog so I'm safe sharing it with you. Enjoy.

The journal will be hardcovered, front and back and will be filled with lined journal paper. Think she'l like it? And while "My Digital Studio" is a STEAL at $19.95, you can try the program out for 30 days absoluetly free! AND I will be setting up some Digital Classes in the next couple of months so you can get some hands-on learning!

Here's one of the cards that we will be doing on my Coffee, Cards and Biscotti Class on April 22nd and 23rd. We will use this stamp to create a sassy birthday card. Note the retiring colors. These are probably three of the five colors that I will miss the most. Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, and Certainly Celery. All soon to be retired and I will sorely miss them....just like Concord Crush. sniff, sniff. I want, I need for that one to be "refreshed" back into my current color palette, I need more of the Concord Crush Cardstock! Stock up on those retiring colors so you don't run out either!

A pack of four half-size cases (3-3/4" x 5-1/2") will sell for $4.95 and a pack of four full-size cases (7-1/2" x5-1/2") will be $6.95. I can HARDLY wait!

April Showers bring May Flowers and June Mosquitoes.... I need to keep reminding myself of the cons of summer so that I'm not longing for warmer sunnier days. Mosquitoes, sweaty soccer clothes, weeds, sun burns, hhhm, I can't think of any other bad things about spring and summer so let's GET to it.

I've been stamping some red, white and blue cards for the Scrapbook Expo. We hope to have a Masculine Card display and make sure that you stop by and say "hi". So here's a card that I did with the By The Tide Stamp set, which just so happens to be one of my favorite in that spring catalog! It's a Father's Day card and brings to mind fresh mown grass, lemonade, ice cream, swimming pools suntan, lotion, swimsuits (oh, wait, that's on the not-so-good things of summer list!) but I digress. I've got to stop torturing myself!

There's an old idiom that I forgot to bear in mind yesterday when I pulled my April Fool's Prank on Ella and Denver. It goes...He who laughs last, laughs best." Somehow Miss Ella had the last laugh of the day. Not only did I have to suffer through hundreds of goofy "April Fools Pranks and antics". (Like being sprayed with rubberband wrapped around the faucet sprayer so when you turn the water on, you get soaked to finding twenty teddy bears in my bed when I went to make it) But the biggest laugh was hers as she was horrified that her favorite monkey would be so crass as to sit on the throne and leave a gift that she snatched him up and while I was explaining that the gift was simply a toilet paper roll wet, shredded and squished together and that I would just put it in the garbage, she flicked it and flushed! WAIT! That can't be good for my sewer lines and septic tank. Anyone want to take bets on how soon my plumber will have to make a visit!

Oh, heaven help me. Spring Break AND April 1st. I let them sleep in this morning and took a bit of well deserved "ME" time at the stamping table and am almost done with a GORGEOUS card for Thursday and Friday's Hostess Clubs (you can join us!) and I think I'll finish that up and share it tomorrow. In the meantime, here's Card #3 (Card #1 was in the newsletter last week, are you signed up?) from my upcoming Fabulous Folders class on Monday, April 8th & Tuesday, April 9th. Three sessions - check out times here!

This card is WAY yummier in person. We are using one of my favorite color combos, Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, and Pretty in Pink. Can you see the sparkle on the background of the embossing folder. Come to class and you will learn this Fabulous Technique in the Fabulous Folders class. :)

Supply list? Umm, I better skip it today and go in and get breakfast started. We have company coming and the house is NOT even close to ready! Wish me luck both with the cleaning and the septic.

I simply get the shivers when I do this class. I love everything about this scrapbooking class. I love seeing the layouts, I love the designs, I love the completed pages, and I especially LOVE the validation that I get from my class attendees. I mean, what's not to love when they tell me how much THEY love the class, how they LOVE having completed pages and that they love ME! Seriously, who wouldn't love that kind of validation!

Several of you have asked me how I run my layouts class. Here's the scoop. I create 5 pages each month around a color family (this month we used Subtles) and for a variety of topics. Each attendee commits to 4 months (hence the 20 pages that you have heard me tout!). I have everything packaged and ready for the scrappers when they arrive. They stamp, snip, punch and embellish to their hearts content. Then they package each page back in a baggie along with all the pieces and take it home where they will finish the layout and add their photos. Simply brilliant!

I know that some of you have expressed the concern that it would be hard to scrap this way. Let me assure you that it's NOT! We have room for creative license in each page and from what the girls are telling me, it's awesome to have a layout that they can sit down with and simply finish with photos.

This page is exactly that. I created the page without a photo and I went back this afternoon and found a great photo to add post-production. Exactly how my class peeps are doing it and I got the shivers when I realized how easy it was to complete. I feel like I'm promoting world peace and good will to men. I felt like I might have a chance of catching up on 20 years of photos! I felt like I could run a marathon. Ok, maybe not that but world peace, for sure.

Now, I really think you should give this class a try. I hear from you guys on a regular basis that you just haven't had time to scrapbook or it's been over a year since you made a page! Ok, let me tell you a secret, my class peeps will have over 60 pages finished in that very same year! Why wouldn't you give it a try?

I think I will add a chipboard title at a later date though. Creative liscence, right? Here's the second secret. I'm sure I've got additional photos from this photo shoot and at the class we do 1 double page layout and 3 single page layouts...and for the single pages, I send each class peep home with extra embellishments so that they can choose to make this into a double page spread. So for this page, I had them stamp extra flowers and leaves and an extra pinwheel. Simply brilliant, right?

Stamps: Raining Flowers, Papillion Potpourri

Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Basic Black

CS: Polka Dot Party Designer Paper, Newsprint Designer, Subtles Pad, Tea For Two Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Whisper White

Misc: Pinwheel Sizzlit, Jewelry Tag Punch, Brads, Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine, Live the Moment Embosslit, Butterfly Punch, Polka Dot Folder, Large Scallop Edgelit.

I'm supposed to be watching my diet as I need to lose a couple of pounds so that we can get the "healthy person" discounted rate on our life insurance policy. I had to snack on a couple of sticks of celery slathered with peanut butter this morning. Celery has a negative calorie count, right? So it offsets the peanut butter AND I resisted covering the peanut butter with chocolate? Before you give me lots of credit for strong will-power, let me just clue you in on the fact that the chocolate horde is empty and I actually resorted to raiding the cute little tchotke things one of my dear customer friends, Lynn, brought to class this past week. I CAREFULLY pulled out the chocolate so I could save and reuse the favor. It counts for something right?

So the celery has spoken and said that the You-tube video is the post of choice today...Check out the fun little stamping gem and come back tomorrow to see the Grandma page for my Scrapbook Layout class tomorrow night. Don't forget I've got room for you!

Don't forget you can order online anytime, but your orders MUST be placed before the clock strikes midnight on March 22nd to count for the Sale-a-bration bonuses!

Watch me POUT. I was put in stamping time-out today. Sad, I know but I suppose it was for my own good. If I'm not forced to step away from the toys, I have a tendency to participate in a few diversionary tactics...stamping, being one of the them. The "good conscience" was telling me to work on my taxes lest I regret it in a few weeks when the weather is nicer....so I have nothing stamped to share and will tell you about a REALLY fun set instead! This is one of 25 Best Of...stamp sets. This is the March Best of Flowers set and it's only $14.95. What a deal!

And wait till you see some of the things I've done with it! it's like a Mini-Me stamp set. Little Hydrangea, Little Rose Spray and Bitty Baby Upsy Daisy. It's adorable.

So head on over and order up YOUR set...it's really a fun one....Get this one as part of your last minute SALE-a-bration order. Don't be left out in the cold!

than Mondays. Happily the cat wandered in yesterday afternoon a little worse for the wear. Not sure who or what he tangled with but I've been letting him recooperate in my office while the weather howls and he heals. I sent him out to use the facilities and he's wandered off AGAIN. So I better put my winter wear on and head out after him. Silly kitty...

Today is a much better day. I've had my DayQuil and my coffee and so far, so good. I am beginning to think that there is something in these cold medicines that takes away my decision making power. I can't decide if I like Option A or Option B. I will be using this card in class on Monday and Tuesday and I need you to pick for me. I did manage to have enough brain power to pick a funky color combination and I will say, it works for me.

Summer Starfruit, Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry. Odd but Manageably Tolerable. Hmm, remind you of anyone. :)

Here's Option A. It's got a blinged out button (remember you can get these buttons for FREE with a $50 order thru March 22nd. Don't DELAY. We are using a stamp set called Sketched Birthday (HA, it's a SNEAK PEEK set!)

Option B: Swapped the colors on the Scalloped and Circle pieces and omitted the button. Which is your card of choice?

Option C: and because I am a female....and have a tendency to try to please too many at once. Imagine Option B, with the bling?

In fact, to make it even a little MORE fun. Let's do this. Leave a comment with your Option Choice (A,B, or C) below before COB on Friday, March 22nd. I'll draw a winner from the comments and I'll send the winner a package of the "bling" for your buttons.

And in the meantime, make your final Sale-a-bration Selection as the store is closing in 15 minutes...

ok not really, it just brought me back to my childhood days when it seemed that our family ALWAYS shopped our local Ace Hardware on a Friday night. My brother and I would wander over to the TV department and hide there watching Dukes of Hazzard while our parents spent what seemed like HOURS shopping. Luke and Bo were so cool to 7 & 8 year olds. That dreaded 15 minute warning meant that we wouldnt be able to see the final segment of Duke's of Hazzard as our parents would be collecting us shortly and we wouldn't get to see the final showdown because they were making their final selections and had to "checkout". ugh. :) Seriously, you have only 3 days to make those final selections and it's a good thing that Dukes of Hazzard came out on DVD collections as I could finally have several seasons worth of closure. :)

If I told you how I really felt it would come out sounding like that lovable kids book called "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Day", by Judith Viorst. Haven't heard of it? Well, since I did happen to do this book in high school for forensics and have read it about 8000 times since then, let me summerize. Alexander goes to bed with gum in his mouth and winds up with gum in his hair, and the day just snow balls from there. His friend picks a new best friend, his mom forgets his dessert in his school lunch, the teacher doesn't like his drawing, the dentist finds cavities only in his mouth and not his brothers, the shoe store is out of the color of tennies that he wants and there is lima beans for supper and kissing on TV and as it's getting worse and worse, he keeps saying he's having a TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO-GOOD, VERY BAD day and he's going to move to Australia. At the end, his mom, kindly tells him some days are like that, even in Australia.

So I'm having one of those days too. We got about 3" of new snow, my fuel oil ran out early cause the furnace is on the blink and sucking more oil than it should, Rob gave me his whopper cold and while I thought I was on the rebound this weekend, it returned with a VENGENCE and I spent the day yesterday, asleep on the couch. I finished the last of the chocolate earlier this morning, I've got a stuffed up head and couldn't find my stampin' mojo this morning AND most distressing, my cat is missing! So yeah, I'm having a terrible, horrible, no-good very bad day and I don't necessarily need to move to Australia, I think I would just prefer to move in with my mom. I want my mommy!. :)

Since this should be a stamping blog and not Wendy Whiner's Website...I'll share my pathetic attempt at a card today. It's pretty bad, isn't it? I'm so congested that my brain isn't functioning...Can this card be saved?
