My alma mater has been busy! The University of Arizona teamed up with Washington University to perform a research study on whether happy people and unhappy people differ in their converstations.

The results showed....

-The happiest people had twice as many substantive conversations and one-third less small talk than their unhappy counterparts.

Yes fellow readers, yes- you are reading this correctly. Just as the customer of a bank smiles when given a lollipop, home buyers enjoyed their experience at Chateau Parkhill better than any other home because we provided Tootsie Pops for them.

Of course a fair price and my anal-retentive cleanliness were factors in the sale as well, but nothing says, "Remember Me" like a Tootsie Pop!

My beautiful North Scottsdale, AZ home is on the market. I have researched all the important "to dos" when getting your home ready to sell and I have come up with one idea that the experts have missed....CANDY!

Lose the cookies and the soft music- let's talk Tootsie Pops, Jelly Beans (individually wrapped of course), Riesens (because everyone loves chocolate and caramel), and perhaps even Bit-O-Honey. Using wholesale candy as a marketing tool is a great idea to make shoppers happy.

The Bulk Tootsie Pop- this says, "Come in, stroll around, take your time and enjoy your lollipop while you contemplate how wonderful your life will be once you buy this house!"

The Jelly Belly Jelly Bean- this little treat tells your home buyer, "Look at how beautiful this home is! Enjoy some lovely little jelly beans as you peruse the house and decide how you will decorate it when you move in."

Riesens- chocolate is always a great handout. It says to people, "Greetings future homeowner! Indulge your tastebuds in chewy, chocolate caramel as you indulge yourself by picturing your family in this lovely new home!"

Last, but not least, the Bit-O-Honey- a taste of childhood memories will encourage people to buy, buy, buy!

Yes, it is that time of year again! Time to place your bets and see who is going to take home that amazing golden statue! Will it be one of your favorite stars or movies? It would be much more fun to find out while throwing an amazing Oscar Party! I just went to a birthday party with a "Celebrity" theme and it was a blast! I think with a few minor changes it would be great for an Oscar Party too!

If you want to go all out then ask your guests to dress as their favorite actor/actress! It is hilarious to see who everyone picks and how they channel the stars style!

Every star needs a red carpet! Lay one out on your walkway and put some gold stars with your friends names on them along the way to your front door! Keep the stars going by hanging them all over the house! Add some twinkle lights and everyone will feel like a STAR!
