William Gould defeats Glen Hibbard to take Modified feature at Kennedale Speedway Park

May 18 (Saturday)

William Gould, No. 60, defeated Glen Hibbard, No. 127, in a close one at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night. Twenty-four IMCA Modifieds started the feature. A few laps into the A-main, William Gould worked his way past Jack Sartain, No. 47, to take the lead. Glen Hibbard was slowly working his way through the field and with one lap to go, Gould held off Hibbard by a car length to take the win. J. Sartain, No. 47, was third, Destroyer Chassis D. Campbell, No. 83, was fourth and M. Martin, No. 11, was fifth. T. Williams, No. 151, was sixth.

RaceSaver Sprints Winner: John Ricketts, No. 5r, returned to the winners circle. J. Sessums, No. 01j, was second, C. Wilson, No. 20, was third, L. Payne, No. 2, was fourth and C. Brewer, No. 99, was fifth.

Jeb Sessums had a strong showing in the 01J Sprint.

Victor Humphrey was involved in a wreck during the heat races.

IMCA SportMod Winner: Dean Abbey, No. 26, was the IMCA SportMod winner. Dean also won at Boyd Raceway Friday night. J. Illich, No. 60, was second, J. Pirkle, No. 411, was third, D. Pritchett, No. 22d, was fourth and B. Shirley, No. 00, was fifth.

IMCA Stock Car Winner: Matt Guillaume, No. 50 was the winner. K. Martin, No. 69, was second, J. Hauser, No. 1x, was third, D. Nauser, No. 81, was fourth and J. Bransom, No. 29, was fifth.

Street Stock Winner: Jake UpChurch, No. 24, was the feature winner. This makes two wins in-a-row for UpChurch. T. Earl Jr., No. 47x, was second, L. Henson Jr., No. 5h, was third, R. Braddock, No. 38, was fourth and G. Nabors, No. 95, was fifth.

Raven Culp crowned Sprint Series of Texas winner at Boyd Raceway

Athough the weather looked threating, a large crowd was on hand to watch the races featuring Smiley Sitton's Sprint Series of Texas at Boyd Raceway Friday night. Twenty SST Sprints started the 20-lap feature. Kenny Venable, No. 59, worked his way to the front and appeared to have this one, but with two laps to go, he got into some lap traffic that allowed Raven Culp, No. 3, to pass him on the outside coming out of turn 2, to take the win. Dustin Woods, No. 00, was third. The next scheduled SST event is May 25 at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco.

Kenny Venable, No. 59, came in second.

Dustin Wood, No. 00, finished third.

Chip Graham, No. 5. SST heat racing action.

IMCA Modified Winner: Last week's feature winner Eric Winnett, No. 21, worked his way to the front to take the IMCA Modified feature. William Gould, No. 60, was second, hard charger award to Sam Cox, No. 3, for third, Nicholas Littlejohn, No. 51, was fourth and Ralph King, No. 5, was fifth. Abilene's Tommy Fain, No. 90, was sixth.
