For this card I used the newly released set called Dude! I stamped Dude in Night Of Navy ink (SU!) on Vintage Cream cardstock, cut it out with Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and sponged some Ranger Distress Ink in Peeled Paint before removing it from the die. I stamped Dude a second time, cut out each letter individually and popped them up for some dimension. "You Rock" was done with the same colors as the main image but was cut out with a Circle Nestability. The Twill Ribbon is from SU! and I've had it in my stash FOREVER! The button and Rustic Jute Twine are both from Papertrey. To give a little more interest, I rounded the corners of the cardstock and made another ruffled ribbon! The DP is October Afternoon Report Card!

All of the new sets, including Dude, are available now in the Verve Stamps store. You can buy them separately or as part of theBeach Party Collection. Buy the bundle and save 18.00!! Can't beat that! Plus Verve's shipping ROCKS!!!

Well, that's all for me today! Have a good one!

Hi there! This month's Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge was to use tissue in some way on your card or project! I didn't really do anything out of the ordinary, but it was out of the ordinary for me! I'm not really a technique kind of gal, but I decided to give the faux silk technique a try when making this card!

I just received my PTI order on Friday and in it was the beautiful Background Basics: Flower Power. I inked up one of the backgrounds with Orange Zest ink and stamped it on the tissue that the stamp set was wrapped in and glued it down to a piece of PTI white cs and then used a 1 3/8" square punch and punched out nine squares. The sentiment was stamped in Dark Chocolate, cut out with a Labels 10 nestie, and then embossed with the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate. I used the Butterfly die to cut out many layers of tissue and then stamped the floral patterned butterfly from Butterfly Dreams in Orange Zest on the top layer. I finished it off with a Making Memories decorative brad. I used the ruffled ribbon technique that I have come to LOVE with Orange Zest Saddle Stitch Ribbon. The embossed scallops were done with an EK Success border punch. The base of the card is Dark Chocolate, but looks black in the pic! The finished card is 5x5.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great evening!

After seeing Taylor's sketch yesterday, I knew I had to make time to participate! I used two new sets recently released by Taylored Expressions,Make the Grade and theExtra Credit mini set! Teacher Appreciation is just around the corner and I need just a couple more cards and I'll be done! I am never this organized! Feels good!

Here are a few deets: The book image was stamped twice, colored with Copics, cut out and stacked on top on each other. The apple and sentiment are from the Extra Credit Mini set. The dp is a combination of October Afternoon Cherry Hill and Report Card. I think I'm addicted to October Afternoon dp....I just can't get enough! Anywho...I added some machine stitching and actually sewed my buttons to the card and called it done!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope what's left of your weekend is fabulous!

Hi there! Today marks the final day of sneak peeks from Verve and today the spotlight set is called One Person. This set is GORGEOUS!! The sentiments and fonts are amazing and the flowers are true one of a kind Verve flowers!! You won't be disappointed! Don't forget to check the Verve Blog for more Diva samples using this set!

I hope you'll join us tonight for the Verve Release Party! It starts at 6:00 pm EST in the Verve Forum on Splitcoaststampers. All of the stamps you've seen this week here and on the Verve Blog will be available for sale immediately following the party! Hope to see you there!

The Crafter's Workshop templates are so cool! My card showcases the new Star Shower Template.

Here are some details on how I made my cards. I started with my template, a sponge dauber and some pigment ink. I bought some Claudia Helmuth Sticky Back Canvas awhile back at my Local Scrap Store and have been itching to use it, so I thought I would give it a try with the template! Oh. My. Word......I am in love with the outcome! You can click on the picture to get a better view of the texture of the inked canvas! I simply taped the corners of my template to the canvas and sponged on the ink in circular motions with a sponge dauber until I got the coverage I desired. It looks so amazing....just like fabric! I used Sweet Blush and Spring Rain pigment ink (PTI).

I paired the canvas with one of my favorite Taylored Expressions sets, Beary Special, to make two simple baby cards! I stamped the bears in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with Copics, cut out with Square nesties and then layered on a Big Scallop Square Nestie. I then went back and paper pieced the patch, feet and ears with Bitty Box DP by PTI. The large embossed scallop is from EK Success. A little ribbon and I called it done!

All of the girls have used different templates, so be sure to stop by their blogs for more inspiration!

I also decorated the inside of the card because I didn't leave a place for the sentiment on the front of the card.....something I forget to do often! LOL!

I used Delightful Dahlias by Papertrey Ink. I cut the flowers and leaves out of two different DP's (also Papertrey) and then stamped the flower image in Memento Black Ink. I added some depth to the dahlia by coloring randomly with Copic Markers. The scallops were cut with the Large Scallop Die by PTI and I embossed both the scallops and the white panel with my FAVE Picnic Plaid Impression Plate! The sentiment was cut out with Labels Trio by Spellbinders!

Thank you for stopping by! I always appreciate it when you do!

It's time for the monthly Key Ingredients Subscription Challenge from Taylored Expressions! If you're already a subscriber you may have already received your kit! I {heart} this month's kit! The kit this month features the Material Girl patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket along with lots of fun sewing themed embellishments! So what better thing to embellish your card than stitching! Use your sewing machine, hand-stitching, faux stitching somewhere on your card.

Also this month, get creative with your card base! Create an easel card, tent card, shaped card...basically anything but a standard A2 card!

I love making these easel cards, so it was an easy choice for me when I sat down to create! My finished easel is 5x5. You can find a great tutorial here.

I used a previously released set from Taylored Expressions called Crafty Cuppie. While you don't need TE stamps to use this kit, they are a perfect compliment!! I stamped Sewing Cuppie in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Buttercream, colored her in with Copics and cut her out with Classic Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities. I also paper pieced the material she is sewing. My favorite part of this card is that DARLING twill ribbon that comes in this kit and the bottom portion of my card! I took the chipboard spool that comes with the kit, colored it with a Copic Marker and then wrapped some twine around it and threaded that twine through three of the many buttons that come with the kit! I framed it around the sentiment, also from Crafty Cuppie! So what do you think?

This is just the tip of the iceberg as far as what you can make with this kit! I have enough supplies left to make MANY more cards! In fact, the KI kits have enough supplies to make approximately 16 cards!

Are you still on the fence about whether to become a Key Ingredients Subscriber?
Anywho....I sat down to create something last night so I pulled out the newly released set from Taylored Expressions, Make The Grade. Teacher Appreciation week is coming up in May so I thought I'd get a head start on some cards and gifty stuff for my girls' teachers. I've already made one gifty set with Make The Grade, you can see it here. I have a few more ideas swirling around my head, but I decided to start with this card.

I started with this week's sketch challenge from Taylor, TESC 108, and used a combination of Cherry Hill and Report Card DP by October Afternoon. I love the color blocked look of this sketch! I wanted the main image to look like a book, so after stamping the sentiment, I cut it out with Labels 7 Nestabilities. I sponged a combo of Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks by Ranger around the image before removing it from the die. The apple is from the Mini Extra Credit set and was popped up for dimension. The twill ribbon is from Stampin' Up and the buttons are from Papertrey. If you look really close, you can see that I stitched some green embroidery floss in the upper left corner. I'm really happy with how this turned out!

Thank you for stopping by! It is so appreciated!

I used the new Verve Plain Jane, Psalm 84:11 and combined it with another new Verve set, Let It Shine. The dp I used is October Afternoon Fly A Kite. I really love the colors in this paper pad! The main image oval was sponged with some Aqua Mist ink (PTI) and the ribbon is Aqua Mist Satin.

Well, that's all from me for now! I so appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!!

This first set showcases the fantastic new set Make The Grade. I decided to make a gift set for one of my daughter's teachers. I made this adorable apple basket and a coordinating card. The basket is simply four Nested Apple dies from Spellbinders (the largest apple) that were embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and attached to the bottom of a 3x3 notecard box (tutorial here). The leaf is from another TE set, Luxurious Labels, and the DP is October Afternoon Report Card! The scallops on the handle were done with a Scallop Edge Punch. I intended to fill my basket with some chocolates, but it seems two young girls who shall remain nameless ate most of them!! So it looks like I'll need to head to the store so I can fill it up!

The card is 5x5 and was made with the same elements I used on the basket. The report card is part of Make the Grade and was stamped with two of the sentiments from the set in Pure Poppy ink. I roughed up the edges a bit with some scissors and added some stitching, New Leaf Twill Ribbon and a Pure Poppy button that was threaded with vintage twine.

This card is the last I have to show you today. It is an easel card that was made with one of the new A la Carte Cuppies and the new mini set, Extra Credit. Since I had all of the materials out on my desk from the above set, I decided to use them on this card! I paper pieced Cuppie's liner and used the smallest Nested Apple. The sentiment is from Extra Credit and was cut out with Spellbinders Labels Trio. Doesn't Cuppie look so cute? Also, if you haven't made an easel card yet you MUST! They are super simple and so much fun!

First up is the new set, CreativiTEA paired with the Paper Girl Card Kit. Can you say SWOON??? The card kit contains patterned paper from The Girls Paperie, coordinating cardstock & ribbon, a package of KaiserCraft Bliss Adhesive Pearls a Perfect Package Card Box plus envelopes! You also receive a downloadable inspiration sheet for each card kit you order! I made this card set and decorated the Perfect Package Card Box and still have SO MUCH product left over! The card kits sell for 14.95 and is well worth every penny, IMO! Taylor has a very informative video for you to watch regarding this card kit, so to view it just click here.

I made a set of four cards using four different patterns from the kit. They are clean and fairly simple and really took no time to put together! I used the flower image from CreativiTEA and two of the sentiments, Happy Birthday and Thank You.

This is the Perfect Package Card Box that will house this set of cards. I kept it fairly simple and used the same layout and elements that were used on the cards. To make the sentiment for the box, I took two of the sentiments from CreativiTEA, "Time For Tea" and "Missing You" and masked out the words "for" and "you" and got them to line up perfectly using my Stamp-a-ma-jig.

This is my final card to share with you today! I used the new Miniature Motifs and CreativiTEA for this card, along with elements from the Paper Girl Card Kit. The two lighter pink panels were stamped with one of the patterns from Miniature Motifs. Miniature Motifs is an ATC size set of four mini backgrounds and they coordinate PERFECTLY with CreativiTEA. And see the sentiment? LOVE it!! Hope you're not getting sick of the ruffled ribbon!! LOL~

Don't forget to check out the Baker's Dozen's fantstic samples with this new set:

I used the new Green Boutique dp and paired it with New Leaf, Hawaiian Shores and White. The sentiment is from Butterfly Dreams and was stamped in Memento Black ink, cut out with Circle Nesties and then embossed with the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate. I sewed a button on the butterfly and added two more buttons to the end of the double row ruffled New Leaf Twill ribbon. Mose of the layers were popped up with foam tape! What do you think?

Another reason I used my Papertrey goodies is because we are welcoming a new guest this month and you'll never guess who it is!!! DEBBIE OLSON! Yes, THE Debbie Olson! Make sure you head on over to her blog to check out her drool worthy creation with Mercy's sketch......and don't forget to give the Muse's some love, too!

Hi there! I'm back with this week's Skipping Stones Design sketch #18! This is another sketch designed by jami Bova and it was SO FUN! This is also my last sketch as a guest designer for the month of March. I just want to say a HUGE Thank You to Heather Engebretson for this opportunity!! I had a great time!

So here are some details: I just love this set from Skipping Stones Design called Stitched Stamps! Such a fun set! I paired it with the new Hawaiian Shores DP and the coordinating dp, Green Boutique from Papertrey. I stamped the flowers in Versamark onto Hawaiian Shores and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I did the same technique with the leaves. The flowers were popped up with foam tape for dimension!

Don't forget to check out the Skipping Stones Design Blog for some more inspiration!

Have a great day!

I stamped the daffodil in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI white, colored it in with Copics and cut it out with a Labels Eight Nestability. I stamped just the flower portion and let it hang over the edge.....sort of "out of the box" The color combo is Kraft, White and Spring Moss. I used the new Vintage Picnic Impression Plate on the Kraft layer. The ribbon is Spring Moss Satin and the adhesive gems are KaiserCraft!

Don't forget to check out the rest of the Muse's for some sketchy inspiration!

Anywho, I took a little time in my craft area yesterday and came up with this card! I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try from last week and paired it with the new Easter Blessings set from Taylored Expressions! Jen dedicated last week's sketch to Susan Liles and her husband Eric. Eric was recently diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer. You can read about their story here. Jen also asked her readers to send the card they made with this sketch to Susan and her hubby....so that's what I'm going to do! Susan is really facing this difficult time with a great attitude. She has a great sense of humor and that shows in her writing! I hope you will take some time to read their story!

Okay....onto some details: I don't use black cardstock very much, but I LOVE the dramatic look it gives a card! I stamped the cross in Old Olive two times on Choice Snow White and popped the second one up for some dimension. The sponging around the cross was done with Soft Sky ink. The DP is the new Basic Grey Kioshi.

Well, that's all from me today! I'll be back with Mercy's sketch and my last Skipping Stones Design sketch tomorrow! I hope you have a great day!

Hi there!! I hope you're all having a great weekend! We have been busy trying to get the house and yard spic and span because we are having the entire family over this week for my DD's 11th birthday! The weather here has been beautiful the last couple days so we're taking advantage and getting some yard work done....well, hubby is! LOL!

I made a card this past Thursday for the Papertrey Blog Hop and loved it so much that I decided to make a set! The original I made is the Lemon Tart card in the back. If you want to see it up close, you can click here. I used the exact same design but used Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet and Plum Pudding for the other three! I think this is my new favorite set from Papertrey called Year of Flowers: Daffodils. It's so beautiful you don't need a whole lot to dress it up!

Well, that's all for now! Kids went to bed early and hubby and I have a date to watch a movie together!! I hope you have a great day!

Hi there! Looks like I'm just making it in for this month's Papertrey Blog Hop! I've only participated one other time and I was DETERMINED today to get a card done! For this month's hop we were to use buttons! I only used one, but I used a button!! LOL! I also used some of my new Papertrey goodies! I {heart} everything they've come out with these last couple months!!

So here are some details: I stamped the gorgeous daffodil from Year of Flowers: Daffodil, in Memento Tuxedo Black on Lemon Tart cardstock. I embossed the Lemon Tart with the Vintage Picnic Impression Plate and then paper pieced the daffodil using Pretty Pastels dp. I did color the flower itself with some Copic markers to give it some depth. I used the Medium Scallop die on the bottom portion of the card and added some ruffled ribbon to finish it off! Oh, and I rounded one corner....I've seen so many people do that and I just love the look!

Well, thank you so much for taking a peek at my blog! Have a great evening!
