Hi there! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I did a little Christmas shopping with my Mom! We went just the two of us, no kids in tow, just the two of us! It was so nice....and relaxing if you can believe that! LOL!

I made this card for the Verve release about a week ago and am just now sharing it on my blog! It uses the new set, Thankful Accents. This set is so beautiful! The colors came from one of the release week challenges by Teresa and Mercy....Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, White and Black. I used some Grid Line paper from Papertrey to help me line up the flower and heart from the set and make the pretty background. The main image panel was sponged with Old Olive ink before removing it from the die. This is a technique I have grown quite fond of. I {heart} my Nesties!! I did a ribbony button bow and the decorative edge was done with a Martha Stewart punch.

Well, I'm off to take hubby to the doctor to have his foot looked at. It seems to be a bit better, not as swollen, so he is in much better spirits! Although he's feeling a bit cooped up as he cannot drive! Oh well, I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day Three!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day Two!

Hi there everyone! Welcome to Day Two of sneak peeks from Taylored Expressions! Today the Baker's Dozen are showing you peeks of an ADORABLE set from the Whimsical Wishes Line called Sweet Occasions. I can't tell you how much I love this set! This set is perfect for thank you, congratulations and celebration cards! The fonts are so fun and can you believe this is only one of 14 stamps included in the set? I KNOW!!! This set will be available tomorrow, December 4th, at 8:00 am PST in the Taylored Expressions store.

Okay, here are a few details: I stamped the main image three times...once on Choice Buttercream and the other two times on a piece of DP from October Afternoon's Farm Fresh. I cut out the heart and the frame from the DP and colored the original with Copics. I added a puched flower and some adhesive rhinestones to finish. The Pure Poppy layer behind the main image was cut with the Labels One Nestabilities. The border along the bottom was done with an eyelet border punch. A little stitching and ribbon and of course some dimensionals, and I was done!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day One!

Hi everyone! This is a LONG post, so grab a cup of coffee and get comfy!

Welcome to day one of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks! Today the Baker's Dozen will be showing you peeks of the newest set in the TE Giving Tree Program, Discover Your Wings. This set was designed by the UBER talented, Nancy McKinney and it is GORGEOUS!! This set will be available for purchase on the TE Website on Friday, December 4th at 8:00 am PST.

Every three months Taylored Expressions introduces a new set in the Te Giving Tree Program with $7.00 of each set sold going to a particular charity. The recipeint charity is called NILMDTS or Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation is a charity that serves families dealing with infant death. Their mission statement is “To introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby with the free gift of professional portraiture. We believe these images serve as an important step in the family’s healing process by honoring their child’s legacy.” NILMDTS administers a network of almost 7000 volunteer photographers in the US and 25 other countries. This is a wonderful charity that TE is honored to support and I would encourage you to learn more about them by going to their website.

This charity touches me to my core. I suffered the loss of four pregnancies before giving birth to both of my girls. I did not carry to term as my miscarriages were early in pregnancy, but it was devastating, nonetheless, so I can only imagine what these families have gone through. I'm so honored to be a part of this incredible company that gives back and gives back to such FANTASTIC charities. Thank you, Taylor!

Okay.....so onto the good schtuff.....the SAMPLES! (yes, I made two!)

My first card uses this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #115. All of the cardstock, DP and ribbon are from the Winnie's Walls Key Ingredients Kit. I LOVE the colors and patterns from this kit! I stamped the gorgeous butterfly from Discover Your Wings in Memento Black ink on DP and cut it out. It's wings were popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment was cut out with Spellbinder's labels Trio and was sponged with New Leaf ink (PTI) before removing it from the die. A few adhesive gems and some machine stitching and I was done!

I was feeling my mojo after the first card and decided to do a second while I had all of the supplies out! That doesn't happen often, so I just went with it! I used a different stamp from Discover Your Wings and can I say that this stamp is HUGE and BEAUTIFUL! I inked it up with Stampin' Up Markers in the following colors: Old Olive, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red & Cameo Coral (all from Earth Elements). I huffed on it a few times to moisten it and stamped it on Choice Snow White. I stamped the butterfly in Cameo Coral and cut it out with paper snips. Again, all of the cardstock is from the Winnie's Walls KI Kit. I used the same technique and die for the sentiment as the card above. I really love how this card turned out and it was so simple because all of those flowers are one stamp!

Hi everyone! Today is Tuesday and it's time for Mercy's Sketch! This is a sad day for me because this is my last post as part of Mercy's Muse's for a little while. As many of you who read my blog know, my husband broke his foot about a week and a half ago and my stamping time has seriously suffered! So I'm stepping away for awhile to concentrate on some family stuff and the holidays but I'll be back before you know it! And although I won't have samples posted with the rest of the girls, I will be participating!! Anywho....onto the card!

Hi everyone and Happy Sunday! I have a fun card to show you today. I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try from yesterday but made it a regular A2 size. I used the new set from Taylored Expressions called Sweet Indulgence. Did you know that Taylored Expressions is having a huge weekend sale? I'll give you all the deets at the end of this post!

I stamped this adorable cuppie in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Buttercream and colored it in with Copic Markers. It was framed with Circle Nestabilities. It's kind of hard to tell from the picture, but I added sparkle to the bubbles with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen. All of the cardstock, ribbon and DP are from the Spa Key Ingredients kit. I love how everything is coordinated, so you don't have to think too much! A little piercing and this card came together super fast, for me anyway!

For the hop I used the new and fantastic Thankful Accents set! I ADORE this set and I know you will too! My pal, Jodi, has an awesome tutorial for these card purses on Splitcoast and I couldn't wait to try it out! My card purse holds four cards and four envelopes...

Here is a close up of the purse! These purses are a BREEZE to make and so fun! All of the cardstock and dp used on this project are from Papertrey. I have listed all of the colors in the recipe at the bottom of this post.

You can see here that I made four cards, all the same but with different sentiments from Thankful Accents and different colors! I rarely make something that I LOVE, but I {heart} this so much!

And finally here is one of the cards close up. I used a Sizzix Texture Plate (Stampin' Up!) for the white panel. I just love the way the swirls from the texture plate mimic the swirls on the wreath. I also love the bit of sparkle from the adhesive gems around the wreath. I hope I've inspired you!!

I started with Nutmeg DP by Cosmo Cricket and then stamped my birdie scene by pulling colors from the DP. The image was cut out using Labels Four Nestabilities and while it was still in the die I sponged on some Aqua Mist pigment ink. The ribbon is Aqua Mist Saddle Stitch ribbon from PTI! The sentiment was stamped in Dark Chocolate and was cut out using Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities. I finished it off with some stitching and a trio of adhesive gems!

There She Goes Blog Hop Day One!

Hi everyone and welcome to the first day of sneak peeks from There She Goes! If you arrived from Holly's Blog, then you're in the right place! The Trendsetter's are showing you samples from the new set Holiday Tags! This is such an adorable and versatile tag set!

I know I'm always trying to put together simple gifts at Christmas time for the teachers, aids, secretaries and such at school and this fit the bill perfectly! I went simple with my project and made some glassine candy bags and attached the tags on the outside. I stamped four of the images along with the tag outline in Memento Tuxedo Black on Kraft cardstock. I colored each in with Copic Markers and cut them out with paper snips. I added some Star Dust Stickles to each in different parts and set aside to dry. I then took each glassine bag and cut the top with scallop edge scissors, filled each bag with six chocolate kisses, folded down the top and punched a hole with a hole punch and then attached the tag with a piece of ribbon! So EASY and so QUICK!

You can see in this picture that I added some stickles to the star and the ornaments.

MTSC49 Merry Christmas LaLa

HI everyone! I just realized it's been a few days since I posted! A LOT has been going on around my house....for starters, my hubby broke his foot at work last Wednesday! We've been to many a doctor appointment in the last few days so my stamping time has been very limited and what time I did have has been spent working on the new Verve release (coming this Friday....YIPPEE!) and the new There She Goes Release starting on Wednesday (Another YIPPEE!) Enough of that....let's get on with Mercy's sketch!

That's right....it's Tuesday and Mercy Sketch day! I flipped this week's sketch to accomodate this DARLING image from LaLa Land Crafts! May I introduce you to Santa LaLa! I stamped LaLa in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored here with Copic Markers. She was cut out with Labels Seven Nestabilities. I added some Liquid Applique to her Santa hat and all of the trim her dress. Can you see the Ghost Snowflakes? I got a few packages of them last year and found them the other day! Love 'em! The sentiment is a Verve sentiment and was cut out with Tag Trio Dies from Spellbinders. I sponged some Ocean Tides Ink around LaLa and the sentiment while they were both still in the die. The ribbon is Ocean Tides Satin Ribbon and the button is a Pure Poppy button, both from Papertrey. The DP is also from Papertrey Ink and is called Rustic Snowflakes!

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great week and I hope you're ready for another fabulous sketch from Taylor! I was really feeling like my mojo had gone on a tropical vacation and couldn't come up with anything for this sketch, so do you know what I did? I took inspiration from this card that I made the other day! I loved the colors and the DP so it made this card so much easier!

I used the new set from Taylored Expressions called Celebrate Life. I hadn't yet inked up this beautiful leaf and thought it would be perfect for this sketch. As you can see from the sketch, I changed the circle to an oval. The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinders Tag Trio Die. The ribbon is Papertrey Dark Chocolate Satin and the DP is Nook & Pantry by Basic Grey.

Hi everyone! It's Tuesday and it's time for another one of Mercy's FABULOUS sketches!! If you love long cards you will LOVE this week's sketch!

Here are a few details: I used the new Verve set, Blessed Christmas. The color combo is Blush Red Dark (Prism), Always Artichoke, Vintage Cream and the DP is Basic Grey Wassail. The poinsettia was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black three times, colored with Copic Markers and cut out with square Nestabilities. I popped up different portions of the flower for some dimension. The pink pearls are Hero Arts. The sentiment was cut out with circle Nestabilities and the scallops on the strip across was done with a Scallop Edge Punch. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I added some Clear Copic Spica pen to the flower. It is really sparkly IRL! A little stitching and the card was complete!

I wanted to give you another way to use this box, so I had the idea of making a music binder for my 10 year old daughter, Lauren. Lauren has just started taking guitar lessons and is really into writing songs, so I thought this binder box would be a perfect place to store her songs! Now, while she is only ten and her songs may not make much sense, I always encourage her creativity!! (wink)

I used the Taylored Expressions set, Home Sweet Home, because it was perfect with all of the musical cupcakes! This card by Laurie Schmidlin totally inspired me, and the sketch is a modified version of Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch from this weekend! I stamped the choir Cuppie and the cupcakes in Memento Black ink and colored in with Copics. The Fa La La La La was masked so that I could stamp a different portion on each cupcake. The DP and cardstock are all from the Christmas Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions. I just love this Jolly by Golly dp! The "Lauren's Music Binder" is computer generated. I added some sponging with Ranger Distress ink in Antique Linen and a little stitching around the scallop circle. I just love how this turned out and my daughter loves it!

Hi everyone and Happy Saturday Night/Sunday Morning! I got a little time to stamp tonight and couldn't wait to use Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try! I really love this sketch! I used the new set from Taylored Expressions, Celebrate Life, and paired it with the Nook and Pantry DP by Basic Grey. Don't you love these colors together?

I stamped the dandelion in Dark Chocolate on Rustic Cream cardstock, cut it out with Long Rectangle Nestabilities and while it was still in the die, sponged on Ocean Tides ink. The sentiment was masked so the the words were top and bottom instead of side by side.  I added some ribbon and a little stitching and the card was complete!

Hi everyone! It's Friday and I have another fabulous sketch for you from Taylor! I LOOOOOOVVVEEEE this week's sketch! I already have another card that I started (but haven't finished yet) and will try to post tomorrow!

So here are some details on the card: I used the new GORGEOUS set from Taylored Expressions, Celebrate Life and paired it with some Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg DP. The cardstock colors I used to match the DP are Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides and Vintage Cream by Papertrey Ink. I stamped the leaf flourish in Spring Moss and the dandelion top in Ocean Tides. It was cut out with Circle Nestabilities. The sentiment was stamped in Ocean Tides, cut out with a circle punch and popped up on a dimensional.  Three vanilla brads finishes it off! I love the clean, simple look to this card. The colors are so fresh!

A Little Verve

Hi everyone! I haven't had much stamping time this week and realized I had a couple of cards from the last Verve release that I forgot to post on my blog!

This first card uses the new set called Holly Jolly! Don't cha love those ornaments?  I love the color combo on this card!

This next card uses the new set called O Christmas Tree. I used the new Nook & Pantry DP from Basic Grey and all of the flowers and the bow on the wreath are popped up on dimensionals.

MTSC47 Christmas Kirby

Hi everyone! It's Tuesday and it's Mercy's Sketch time!! I say it week after week, but this is another fabulous sketch!

I was asked a few weeks ago by Irina Blount, owner of La La Land Crafts, to be a special guest for the month of November and of course I said yes! Irina is local (we actually discovered she lives basically withing walking distance to me!) and teaches classes at one of our LSS's!  The images from her line are just too cute! The one I used today is called Christmas Kirby. Isn't Kirby adorable? I stamped Kirby in Memento Tuxedo Black on PTI White and colored him in with Copic Markers. I added some Crystal Snow Glitter with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to the brim and ball of his Santa Hat and to the top portion of the stocking. The DP is from Rustic Snowflakes from Papertrey and don't you love the ribbon?  Lisa Johnson gives a great tutorial for this ruffled ribbon trim on her blog!

TSG28~Fun With Chipboard!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I now have two sick kids (it was just one)...one on the mend and the other just beginning! Looks like I'm in for another long week. Sheesh! Well.....I stole a bit of time in my craft area this weekend to make this card for today's There She Goes challenge #28~Fun With Chipboard!

I started with this A-Dorable new set from There She Goes called Penguin Love. I was inspired by THIS CARD by my pal, Jodi Collins. Thanks, girl!! The scene was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added a lot of Crystal Snow Glitter with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen to the image to give it a little sparkle. The chipboard is from Maya Road and was colored with a Copic Marker. Two buttons were added to the center for a little more interest. The ribbon and cardstock are from Papertrey and the DP is the Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey. Of course, I had to add some stitching!

Here are all the details on the challenge:

Chipboard comes in all shapes and sizes, plain or already altered and is such a fun embellishment to use! This week we challenge you to make a card/layout/project featuring chipboard. Chipboard can be found in every house! You can use your favorite die cuts to cut shapes out of cereal boxes, you can paint, paper, glitter them, the possibilities are endless!! Let your imaginations soar and have fun with this challenge :)

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card/layout featuring some form of chipboard and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the Mr. Linky that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. Hi everyone! It's Friday and it's time for another one of Taylor's sketches!! I LOVE this week's sketch! I wanted to go the more simple route with my card so I could showcase this ADORABLE Santa from the new Papertrey set, Holiday Button Bits! I got a rather large Papertrey order earlier in the week and I've just been itching to get SOMETHING inked up! The DP is the new Rustic Snowflakes from PTI and I just love it!! Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Hi everyone! Not only is this the last day of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions,but it's also Release Day!!   Everything you've seen these last three days is available right now at Taylored Expressions!

Today the Baker's Dozen is showcasing a GORGEOUS new set from the Whimsical Wishes Line called Celebrate Life! I adore this set! It's perfect for fall and Thanksgiving, but can go far beyond this time of year!

I stamped the gorgeous pumpkin in Dark Chocolate ink (PTI) on Choice Buttercream cardstock, colored it in with Copic Markers and framed it with Classic Circle Nestabilities. I sponged some Summer Sunrise ink (PTI) around the outside before removing from the die.   The colors are Old Olive, Summer Sunrise and Buttercream. The DP is from Papertrey. I couldn't resist adding some stitching around the two main back panels and the panel just under the main image! I am addicted to my sewing machine! The sentiment was cut out using the Tag Trio Die from Spellbinders and I finished it off with some Vintage Cream Satin Ribbon and a button!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2!

Hi there everyone! Welcome to Day Two of the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks! Today the Baker's Dozen is showcasing a darling new Cuppie set called Sweet Indulgence along with the coordinating Spa Key Ingredients Kit! This set also pairs beautifully with the Luxurious Labels set we peeked yesterday! These sets will be available for purchase on November 5th (tomorrow) at the Taylored Expressions store!

I stamped this adorable image in Memento Tuxedo Black on Choice Buttercream and colored in with Copic Markers. I used the Classic Square Nestabilities to cut it out. I also added some Hero Arts Gemstones to the lights on the mirror and some Glossy Accents to the mirror. Every item Iused on this card aside from the adhesive gems is from the Spa Key Ingredients Kit!   The DP is Whirlybird from the My Mind's Eye Penny Lane Collection! Love the fun bright colors and patterns in this DP!!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 1!!

Hi everyone! It's Day One of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions and I can't wait to show you the newest sets! Today the Baker's Dozen is showing you samples of a new set to be released on Thursday, November 5th called Luxurious Labels! It's a gorgeous spa themed set that is perfect for any lady!

For the card, I stamped the adorable bath tub two times on Choice Buttercream with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copic Markers. It was cut out with Classic Circle Nestabilities. For the spa bottle, I added some of my very favorite Amazing Grace Bath and Shower Gel by Philosophy. I use this every time I step foot in the shower! My Mother-in-law loves it, too, so I thought this would be a fun little extra gift to give her for her birthday! The image on the front of the bottle is also from this set. It was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut it out with paper snips and adhered it to the front of the bottle. The DP, cardstock and ribbon are all from the Spa Key Ingredients Kit that will be released this Thursday! Isn't that DP so fun?
