Tucked within an archaeological olive grove of centuries-old trees just outside Noto, Sicily, this luxury destination wedding photography workshop at Braccialieri was born from a desire to celebrate the layered beauty of Mediterranean living. A world where tradition, nature, and contemporary design meet with quiet elegance. A place where refinement doesn’t shout, and luxury feels grounded in the land itself. From the beginning, the creative direction centered on contrast. Elegant yet playful, elevated yet earthy, timeless with a touch of modern irreverence. The color story was crafted to reflect the soulful essence of Sicily, sun-warmed, emotionally rich, and texturally grounded in the landscape. At its core were ivory and soft, sun-bleached neutrals, echoing the limestone architecture and the quiet elegance of Mediterranean light. Muted terracotta and earthy browns anchored the editorial in something raw and honest, a tactile nod to the Sicilian soil. Olive green, drawn directly from the surrounding groves, introduced an organic counterpoint, both grounding and alive. To complement this restrained base, pops of red, a reference to Braccialieri’s now-iconic checkerboard pool, added moments of playful tension. These editorial gestures never felt forced. They were rooted in place, designed to surprise the eye without overwhelming it. This philosophy extended into the pre-wedding table design, set within the venue’s intimate bar area. Inspired by the white lotus, the tablescape embraced a bold, maximalist pattern, layered with handwritten plates, sculptural florals, and local elements like garlic, onions, and tomatoes. Each color was chosen not to match, but to harmonize, creating a palette that felt both unexpected and deeply native to the land. In the end, the color didn’t perform; it punctuated. Minimal in spirit yet rich in presence, the gown moved effortlessly through the olive grove landscape, catching light with every step, its fabric glowing softly against the sun-warmed stone.

Graphic elements and vivid tones set the tone: whimsical red inflatables shaped like sun-kissed tomatoes, blue-and-white retro-striped rubber rings marked with La Dolce Vita, and the vibrant contrast of sun, water, and wild olive groves as the backdrop. Nothing was overly arranged or ornamental. Instead, the approach leaned into garden-wild elegance: florals that felt like they belonged there all along.

The palette was grounded in the elements of Sicily: muted greens drawn from the olive groves, soft blush tones that echoed sun-faded plaster and bougainvillea, and earthy siennas and russets that spoke of terracotta, aged wood, and sun-warmed stone.

At the ceremony, a joyful installation of oversized paper florals added a touch of whimsy and movement to the gardens. This unexpected element introduced color and lightness without overwhelming the setting… a celebration of nature’s palette, reinterpreted with playful artistry.

Across the tables, florals were kept low and sprawling, woven organically into the tablescapes. Hydrangea heads nestled into airy grasses, while textured foliage meandered between ceramics, lights, and custom fabrics, forming a living narrative of color and form. Nothing felt placed, everything felt grown.

The overall floral language was quiet yet evocative: editorial, but never forced. Intimate, yet grounded. A celebration of imperfection and instinct… blooms that moved with the wind, responded to the light, and belonged wholly to the soil and spirit of Sicily.[/field]

The main wedding cake was hand-carved to resemble a fragmented torso. Draped folds mimicked soft fabric in motion, transforming it into something far beyond dessert… an installation in its own right. Positioned atop an oversized terracotta urn and framed by silk, florals, and filtered light, it became an object of quiet intrigue. Next to it, a second creation took the shape of a traditional Sicilian Moor’s Head, sculpted entirely in chocolate and finished with delicate macarons in sun-baked tones of olive, ivory, and umber. Both designs played on the edge of irreverence and elegance, blending strong visual identity with tactile richness… grounding the editorial in something unforgettable. Even the cake-cutting moment was approached with intention… less spectacle, more symbolism. Each layer revealed echoed the palette of the landscape: warm, textured, and softly surprising. This wasn’t just a cake. These were edible artefacts, a fusion of elegance, narrative, and sculptural drama. A Cultural Fusion Wedding in Prague with Indian Traditions, Czech Customs, and a Vineyard Mandap Ceremony

Fusion of indian and Eastern ceremony and reception. The ceremony was being held at the vineyard with a stunning view of Prague, in a traditional mandap. There are little stones on the ground, which are not comfortable for high heels, so we covered the whole area with green astroturf.

The groom proposed to the bride on an unseasonably warm and sunny December afternoon in Central Park, a place closely tied to their life together in New York City. Having met in the city and spent countless hours wandering the park over the years, it felt like a natural setting for the moment. He chose a quiet, tucked-away spot by the water, with the skyline in view.

The bride wore a deep wine–colored lehenga with intricate beading that reflected the light throughout the ceremony. The embroidery extended across the lehenga skirt and blouse. She paired the look with a sheer wine-toned veil, which, like the lehenga, included emerald green accents threaded through the palette. The touches of green added dimension and echoed the emerald details on the groom’s traditional Indian sherwani. The lehenga was from Frontier Raas in Delhi, India.

Food was again a fusion of Indian and international food. We hired indian chef coming to the villa and making traditional indian food for cocktails after the ceremony and late snack – samosas, pani puri, lassi, etc. The dinner was served, international, where guests had a choice between meat and vegetarian options.

The wedding cake was ordered by the mother of the groom and delivered to the villa with a sweet bar. Groom’s mum also baked traditional Czech wedding sweets that were served in lovely boxes. Guests also received a bottle of traditional Czech Slivovice – plum spirit. The cake was simple white, decorated with fresh flowers.

The bride and groom set out to weave together elements of their Indian and Czech cultures throughout their wedding celebrations. The wedding festivities began with a sangeet held aboard a boat on the Vltava River, where guests danced while taking in views of Prague. The wedding day featured a Czech civil ceremony followed by a Hindu ceremony, overlooking the beautiful and historic city. During the reception, the bride and groom shared a speech in both English and Czech and took part in a Czech tradition in which a plate is broken, and the couple cleans up the pieces together, symbolizing partnership and cooperation. The celebrations concluded the following day with a historic tram ride through Prague.

To keep authenticity, many items were delivered directly from India – from saris for both families, to pashminas for ladies, beautiful earrings and bracelets that ladies took as a gift, in a lovely traditional indian bag. We customized 2 stalls, in on was placed the jewelry, in other served traditional masala chai, decorated by indian spices in packets from India. The couple sits in front of a beautiful wall with original fabric wallpaper, decorated by peacocks, that was also delivered from India. Peacocks were used at all stationery, especially a beautiful order of service, which perfectly explained the ceremony for Western guests.

A Hindu priest arrived from Budapest, Hungary, to marry the couple after a traditional Czech ceremony. Mandap was decorated by loverly pieces delivered from India, and all the ceremony props came from India as well.

A Timeless Summer Wedding with a Long Table Reception and Old World Candlelit Elegance

In our design endeavor for the wedding of Dania and Ivan, Adriatic Weddings and Showroom design aimed to infuse a sense of timelessness and warmth into the wedding details, creating a table setting that is memorable yet harmoniously integrated into its surroundings. Soft elements highlight the ease of the evening, fostering a calming atmosphere. The gentle movement of the breeze serves as the final touch of the design, playing with textures to create a magical and vibrant ambiance at the table. To enhance the dining experience, we incorporated silver cutlery that exudes old-world charm, complementing the white linens and the vibrant green and burgundy hues of the grape installations. This choice beautifully connects the venue’s stone facade tones with the table arrangement. The warm flicker of candlelight suspended by vintage, silver-toned candelabras created a gentle glow, fostering an inviting atmosphere. We also utilised natural fabrics for the table setting to achieve a classic and timeless aesthetic. This enduring design encapsulates the spirit of a summer evening, where sophistication and style seamlessly blend, inviting guests to savor a memorable dining experience in a stunning environment. The intimacy of the atmosphere of friends and family was accentuated by all 115 guests dining at one long table.

Ivan and I have been friends for a very, very long time. He’s always been part of my family because he’s my older brother’s best friend, so I’ve always known him. I think as soon as we realized that we liked each other and that we were going to start dating, which was in 2021, we already knew that it wasn’t going to be just a summer fling. We knew it was going to be more than that and something serious. So the proposal wasn’t very surprising. It was something that, from the very beginning, we kind of expected after about two years of being together. He took me to an industrial warehouse where they do painting classes. The place was booked out just for Ivan and me. There was a painting teacher, a long table, and a canvas and paint on each side of the table. The teacher said that the lesson for the day was to paint what we believed our relationship would look like over the years. I painted a flower that was growing and growing in stages. I don’t even remember what Ivan painted. The whole place was booked for us, there was music, and we weren’t allowed to look at each other’s paintings until we were finished. As soon as we showed our paintings to each other, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. It was the most special moment. It was beautiful, and I’ve never said this out loud.

The kick-off of the festivities was at the welcome cocktails. Guests were served an open bar with two signature cocktails – Pisco Pitch – a tribute to the groom’s football obsession – bright, punchy, and guaranteed to score! Disco Kiss, named after the couple’s first kiss under a disco ball. A buffet of local mezze delicacies was served as well. The guests enjoyed San Canzian’s gastronomical expertise with tuna tartare as the cold appetizer, followed by a traditional local Istrian specialty – Pljukanci pasta with seafood bisque. Each guest had a choice of either beef steak with a side of potato dauphinois or sea bass fillet with sweet potato cream, citrus gel, and crispy fennel as the main course. In a sweet twist of events, the selected dessert at the sit-down dinner was an Espresso Martini cocktail for each guest. This choice of dessert made sure the guests got a shot of energy before proceeding to the dancefloor, where a buffet of sweets awaited, curated by the lovely local KJ Pastry patisserie.

The wedding bouquet was medium-sized, a statement piece that gives the impression of an elegant, light summer composition and frames the overall impression of the wedding. The florals used were local and garden-grown, inspired by Istria. The table decor was achieved through grape, fig, and asmaranthus installations, all accentuated with subdued tones from the candlelight. All the cutlery and candelabras were silver-toned, giving the setup a vintage, old-world feel. At each seat, a craft paper name tag was held securely in position by an artichoke.

The couple opted for a Tiramisu Tower, again curated by KJ Pastry. After a toast, each guest was offered a Tiramisu serving.

The ceremony opened with the procession of the wedding party. It was officiated by two of the couple’s nearest and dearest friends, and culminated in the couple’s vows to each other, followed by a beautiful and deep reading of an excerpt from ‘On Marriage’, by Kahlil Gibran: Then Almitra spoke again and said, And what of Marriage, master? And he answered, saying: You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore. You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days. Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God. But let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup, but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread,d but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, even as the strings of the lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow. The couple opted for a well-known local harp player, Doris Karamatić, to be their musical soundtrack to the ceremony. The bride entered to ‘Forever’ by Labrinth, and the couple exited to the song ‘Beyond’ by Leon Bridges.

Approach to wedding photography. For Dania and Ivan, photography was envisioned as an unobtrusive, documentary experience, one that would preserve the genuine rhythm of the day and the natural flow of emotions. In close collaboration with the photographer, the couple embraced a relaxed approach focused on capturing spontaneous moments shared with their guests, allowing the story of the celebration to unfold organically. The imagery reflects the warmth and authenticity of the gathering, framed by the timeless beauty of San Canzian’s stone architecture and serene surroundings. Thoughtful attention was also given to the details of the evening table setting, where textures, candlelight, and carefully curated elements were documented in a way that felt effortless and true to the atmosphere. Together, the photographs convey an intimate visual narrative, one that feels natural, emotive, and deeply connected to the setting and the people within it.

A Joyful Pastel Wedding with Colorful, Conversation-Driven Design and a Statement Oval Bar

From the first planning call, Bride Leah gushed about loving pastel colors and wanting to brighten every space for her guests. No colors were off-limits, but the design was rooted in shades of pastel pink with yellows, corals, oranges, and blues.

With a stationary reception, we wanted the guests to utilize the entire venue and have the design be creative, colorful, and encourage conversation. By using the veranda and tasting room as additional dinner locations, we were able to bring in fun design elements to the Granary in addition to the guest dining tables you typically see. We anchored the reception design with a large custom oval bar from Paisley and Jade. We used a warmer color palette for the florals, from peach to butter yellow, and complemented this with a cooler color palette for the linens and furnishings in green, blue, and pink. The design flowed effortlessly throughout the venue with slightly different vibes in each room to ensure guests always felt welcomed, engaged, and included.

Leah and Blake got engaged on a Sunday evening in Nashville, where they were both pursuing graduate-level studies at Vanderbilt. Their engagement was a private moment as the sun was setting, but absolutely filled with joy. They went on an engagement-moon to Rocky Mountain National Park to celebrate, and shared the news publicly upon their return. It was as sweet as can be.

At the beginning of dress shopping, Leah tried on her grandmother’s wedding dress that both her mom and aunt wore for their own weddings. It was so special, but it wasn’t quite right for Leah’s ceremony, so she wore the dress to her rehearsal dinner downtown, surrounded by family, and it was so sentimental. Leah’s wedding gown choice was no less sentimental – she interned with a non-profit in high school called Cherie Sustainable Bridal, and ended up being able to return to her roots and find her dress at an organization she already cared so much about!

Leah and her maid of honor, Anne, worked together to select the bridesmaids’ dresses, and they landed on Azazie sky blue dresses and gave each attendant the flexibility to select the style that best suited her.

Pippin Hill Farm is known for its bespoke wedding menus, and Leah and Blake’s wedding was no different. Their 215 guests spread throughout the venue and enjoyed stations of southern cuisine, a variety of pastas, and a station of traditional beef tenderloin and cozy side dishes. There was something for everyone! The full bar was complemented with signature cocktails – (His) Maker Happy – Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Red Pump Red Wine, Lemon, Simple Syrup (Hers) Summer Sangria- Rose, Elderflower Liqueur, Seasonal Fruit

Tupelo Floral Co. took the pastel, floral-forward design and brought it to life. At Christ Episcopal Church, we hung wreaths of the wedding colors around the front doors that complemented the bridesmaids’ bouquets. At Pippin Hill, guests were greeted with floral baskets at the entrance to the veranda, along with disc golf disks the groom designed himself, using the wedding crest. The big design moments were in the Granary for the reception. Guests walked through a lush floral arch to be greeted by the expertly designed wedding cake, hanging greenery and florals, and a varied reception with three different table designs. Anchoring the reception design was a 16′ oval bar and a matching stage facade for the band, provided by Paisley & Jade.

Cakes by Rachel took this pastel, whimsical summer design and brought it to life in the wedding cake. Knowing this masterpiece deserved to shine, we placed it at the entrance to the granary so every guest saw the work of art with sugar flowers that perfectly matched the design of the day.

If you asked Leah and Blake throughout the planning process what they were most excited about, they always answered that they were excited to marry each other and exchange vows while surrounded by loved ones. The design of their day was so incredibly fun, it flowed impeccably, and yet the root of the entire event stayed with Leah and Blake and their marriage.

The Groom was an active disc golf player in college at UVA, and the wedding favor was custom discs with their wedding crest. We set up a disc golf area on the lawn at Pippin Hill, and with the late summer sunset, it was a popular activity throughout the event.

Leah’s brother surprised guests at the end of cocktail hour with a bagpipe performance, starting in the vines of the vineyard.

An open floor plan ensured guests felt connected and immersed in the environment, making the entire celebration feel intimate, warm, and effortless.

She chose a classic high-neck silhouette paired with a delicate floral lace topper, creating a look that felt timeless yet softly romantic.
