The New York Times had an articles about finding cheap textbooks online. They mentioned a site that I'd never heard of, but it might be worth checking out:

"Bookfinder.com, an umbrella search site that sifts through the inventories of hundreds of thousands booksellers worldwide, started a simple, easy-to-use textbook search tool. The way it works: enter a title, I.S.B.N. or author’s name in Bookfinder’s textbooks search box to navigate a huge database of 125 million new and used books. You can compare prices, shipping costs and the availability of less expensive editions published overseas."

a note to email subscribers...

Recently I noticed that I wasn't getting email subscriptions for 3 of my blogs...I was only getting emails for 'style cravings' even though I was subscribed to all 4 blogs. Since I have 4 blogs under 1 Typepad account, I think that something got messed up with my Feedburner feed...however, it is now taken care of. So there should be a separate email for each blog. Email subscribers should only be getting an email for the blog that he or she subscribed to...multiple blog subscriptions = multiple emails. Let me know if the problem still exists. Sorry for the inconvenience. xx

Iteetoo, designed by Ray, is a line of t-shirts and hoodies known for its playful mix of traditional cultural icons with pop culture humor. My favorite is Ganesh on a skateboard giving a high five. I'm reminded of the "Jesus is my Homeboy" trend, but I find these tees more interesting.

Ray's designs can be found on Iteetoo's website; each design can be printed as a tee or a hoodie. During the summer, Ray can be found on the weekends near Union Sq on the corner of Broadway and 13th St; otherwise his designs can be purchased via Paypal on his site. I just read this interesting NYT article about linguistic mishaps. I wish that all I had to combat were too many 'ers' and 'ums'; instead, I have a tremendous fear of public speaking...even when I'm passionate about a subject or when I'm well-prepared, my mind freezes and I can barely mumble the key points. Last semester, I almost cried after blundering through my part of a presentation for my Entrepreneurship class about the need for an economic cost-benefit analysis model for Trade Secrets. Fortunately, my partner took over brilliantly, but I was so embarrassed and disappointed with myself. I definitely need to overcome this fear to become an effective speaker. If anyone has tips, let me know!

Living in NYC requires serious antioxidant protection. Fortunately, I just discovered a tea bar near Union Square that offers healthy tea that actually tastes good. I'm not a big fan of the green tea taste, but I still force down my daily cup. As I was walking by Tavalon, there were free chilled tea samples being handed out. Of course, I grabbed one and discovered the perfect tea for me: White Tea with Peppermint sweetened with Korean Plums.I love it for its slightly tart taste with just a hint of sweetness. Best of all, white tea actually tastes good so I can finally enjoy tea rather than treating it like medicine! In fact, white tea offers greater health benefits than green tea as noted by NBC news: "...studies have indicated that white tea offers even more cancer-fighting antioxidant agents than green tea."

The fun of Tavalon is that there are so many cool (and healthy) things on the menu that I can't wait to try (even if they just sound cool) such as: Detox, Green Tea Latte, Herbal Fruit Freeze, Pom Black, MoTEAjo, Honey Nut Latte, Brazilian Hot Chocolate, Acai Smoothie, Antioxidant Shot, and even Tea Cookies. There is also a great variety of packaged tea so that one can experiment with his or her creative tea mastery at home. I also love the chill vibe of the place; it has that small neighborhood bar feel to it where you just want to hang out, sip tea and chat. Chris and PJ are such fun to talk to...I'll be back for sure.
