It's an exciting week here. Rivalry week! I find myself smiling every morning right when I wake up. Yes, Ohio State is a double digit favorite (20 1/2 I think) but it is still Michigan. Anything can happen. So GO BUCKS! BEAT MICHIGAN!

Now onto some TSD news. As you've noticed, I've been away for a while. I just wanted to give a heads up that The Sports Diva Magazine will be taking a break. While on this break, I'm going to be thinking about a few things to make TSD Mag better. Also looking to give it a makeover. TSD Mag will definitely be back. We’ll just call it a Holiday Break. I had a feeling before the game today. But I didn't want to jinx it. And maybe it was a good thing I wasn't able to watch it today (got the Browns game here). But I saw the score at the bottom of the screen and saw 14-0 Bengals. WTF? Can it be? I thought. And then I saw that the Jaguars were trying to make a comeback. But the Bengals held them off. Final score: 21-19. 1 win down, 7 more to go to reach .500. Yeah, I know. I laughed when I thought that too. Go Bengals!

Grrrrrrrr.... The weekend that was.

Ohio State. It happens. You can't win them all. There's always next year. Blah. Blah. Blah. What do you do with this loss? Do you blame the play-calling? Do you blame the defense (though they did play well against a team that averaged over 40 points per game so they should not be to blame. Although, couldn't they at least held them to a field goal instead of that touchdown? But no blame should go to them)? Do you blame the freshman QB (You honestly thought he would go undefeated his rookie season?)? I'm going to say this once and hopefully only once and hopefully they will FINALLY get the hint. Hey O-Line: STOP SUCKING!

Cleveland Browns. Well if you're a Buckeye fan and a Browns fan at least you were happy on Sunday. Usually it's the other way around but you'll take it, right? The Browns did what they could to cheer up their fans by beating the Jacksonville Jaguars (on the road?) 23-17. They get Baltimore next and with a win would be looking at a .500 record.

Cincinnati Bengals. Where would you even begin? And next they play Jacksonville who probably aren't too happy about losing to the Browns. If any team needed a bye week this one surely does. Will someone please tell me how they won't go 0-16?

Now I know I haven't posted as much as I would like to. No worries. That will change soon. But for now, it's time to be happy for Homecoming Weekend at Ohio State. Oh and that Penn State game Saturday night. I'm a bit excited for the game. And if you're not pumped for it yet, here's a throwback that might help. And here's hoping that Malcolm Jenkins (have I mentioned how I love him this year?) can replicate this play.

The Beanie Hop
The Ohio State 45-7 win yesterday over Michigan State was very satisfying to watch. And we all have our favorite moments from it. Donald Washington's fumble recovery. Malcolm Jenkins' sack that forced a fumble which let Thadeus Gibson run it back for a touchdown. Terrelle Pryor's touchdowns. Many great memories. But I have to give it to Beanie and the Hop. Summary:
Hang up the phone on those Super Bowl tickets Cleveland Browns fans. Wait to at least see what happens this week @ Washington. Yes they lost to the St. Louis Rams but they also have road wins against Dallas and Philadelphia. No team is going to go undefeated. Sometimes upsets happen (i.e. Monday night vs. NY Giants).

The Cincinnati Bengals are not getting better. They have no QB (Carson is out this week) and no running game. The defense has played better than usual but being how terrible their defenses have been that's not saying much. It is going to be a long season.

The Baltimore Ravens declared Joe Flacco their starting QB for the rest of the season and then they got spanked by Indy. Some are wondering if they should go back on that and give Troy Smith a go. We'll see what happens against the Dolphins.

The Pittsburgh Steelers should beat the Cincinnati Bengals easily this week. I also thought that about the NY Giants on Monday (If I sound a little bitter, Eli is on my fantasy team. And 3 picks do not make me happy). So who knows what will happen. All I can say is this. Pittsburgh=Good. Cincinnati=Bad. Elementary yes but so true.

Thank you Musburger for clearing that up. You saved me from crying into a bottle (or 2) of red win last night and drinking it on my birthday. Yes, there is still a chance Beanie doesn't play but at least what you said sounds hopeful.

Did everyone forget? Saturday, September 13th, the day Ohio State faces off against USC in the Coliseum, is my birthday! Yay! I will be one year older and have decided that there is no way any USC fan can have the same birthday as me since the only birthday gift I would like is a Buckeye win. And I'm sure, hypothetically, that if there was a USC fan with the same birthday they would want a USC win for their birthday. And aren't we all suppose to get everything we want for our birthdays? There are no ties in college football.

Here's hoping I get what I want for my birthday. If you did get me a gift other than a Buckeye win, take it back and give all that happy energy to Beanie's toe. Much appreciated :)
