Well, I'm back! Quilt Market was a whirlwind. I can hardly believe it has come and gone, but is is sure good to be home!

I took a lot more photos, which I will share in my next post, but here is a peek at our booth and all the quilts hanging. Hope you like it!

As for me, I've got to run pick the little boys up from school. No rest for the weary.

It's that time of year...

Finally! I've been over here binding like crazy trying to get all of my new Market quilts finished up and ready to go, and today I finally get to show you what I've been working on out of our new line, Scrumptious.

And always, I'm a little bit nervous to show you guys. I hope you like them! I do have to say, new quilt posts are always my favorite to look through. You?

(Here are a few of the older ones just in case- Happy-go-lucky, Marmalade, Vintage Modern, Ruby)

I know that you are already scrolling past this to see the photos, so I won't ramble on too much. Here's the rundown:

First up is Surfside-

This one is made from a Scrumptious Layer Cake and looks much more complicated to put together than it really is. It is a breeze to piece, and came together really quick! There are two versions, the scrappy one and a two color version. Did I tell you the Scrumptious has printed solids? It does, and they are sooo pretty.

I pieced this one and Andrea Marquez quilted it and did a fantastic job, as always. Thank you Andrea!

I am hoping to make a scrappy verison of out this pile of fabric after Market. You know, when it is so hot here that all we can do is hide inside and sew? (Well, I sew. The boys make messes.) That's the plan! Can't wait!

Next up is Summer-

These blocks are 18" and since each one is made from two fat quarters, you could make this literally any size super easy. Baby size? 4 blocks. Twin? 20 blocks. King? 36 blocks. Piece of cake!

Sherri pieced this one (and super fast, might I add), and Andrea quilted this one too. I have the most talented friends! Thanks girls! I usually bind everything by hand, but this time I bound a few of my Market quilts on my machine. It is sooo fast, but I still like the look of hand sewn binding better.

The third one is a star quilt called Lucky-

It can be made with a Layer Cake or Charm Squares, or scraps, or yardage for the rainbow version. So pretty much anything! I made the rainbow verison from the little bias stripes in Scrumptious and am crazy about how it turned out.

Not to mention, it was quilted by Angela Walters who did such an incredible job. That Angela. Have you seen what she's up to lately? Sheesh!

And last but not least, my favorite of the bunch, Niner. This quilt is quite possibly my favorite quilt I've ever made, ever.

Now, to be fair, it is the last one I finished (I bound it late last night) which is often my favorite quilt, but there is just something about this one and Happy-go-Lucky mixed with Scrumptious.

Not to mention these blocks were really addictive. Once I made the first one I couldn't stop until all nine were made. Did I mention they are huge? And no trimming or waste! The quilt is 80" x 80", and adding a 6" border would make it queen size. It is made out of 2 Layer Cakes, or 2 Jelly Rolls. Or one of each. A perfect chance to pick two different lines and mix them together into nine patch perfection. I love nine patches.

(I also love this back/binding combo)

You can probably tell just by looking at it, but this one was also quilted by Angela. And good heavens she outdid herself with this quilting. If you are going to be at Quilt Market, you'll have to come see it in person. It's pretty awesome.

And there you have it! Four new patterns just in time for Spring Quilt Market. The PDFs are available my shop now, but any orders with paper pattern (printed in full color, might I add!) will ship as soon as they get back from the printer next week.

Aaaahhhh.... it feels so good to finally show you these! I've had too many things in the works lately, and too many secrets. Now you are all caught up! So the question is, what do you think? Do you have a favorite?

This and that

A few things I have been thinking I should tell you about, in no particular order:

* I had these cookies at a baby shower last week and have been dreaming about them since. I finally made them yesterday and dang it, they were GOOD. Enjoy! (And I'm sorry.)

* Well, once again I underestimated your love of scraps. The winners of the Scrumptious scraps are Christine C who likes All in the Family (from my first book) and Candice who likes Swoon (in fact, she made the block below- wow!). Girls, email me your addresses and a few patterns you've had your eye on and I'll get these boxes right out to you. Thank you everyone for your sweet comments! It is always so fun having giveaways and hearing from you!

* Only two weeks until Market. I can't believe it either. And yes, I'm freaking out a little bit. If you are going, please stop by and say hello, will you? I'm not sure which booth I'm in yet, maybe I should look into that... ;-)

* Books have shipped and they are on their way. Hooray! All the orders up to Saturday morning have shipped, and I'm working on the orders from this weekend today to get them out tomorrow morning. Did that make sense?

* My Craftsy students are AMAZING and checking the class project page makes my day every day!

* Kinda like this little guy. He knew I was overwhelmed the other night so he brought two pints of ice cream and two spoons into my sewing room to cheer me up. For heaven's sake.

* Remember when Kristyne sewed her way through Simplify a while back? Well, Jana is starting up a sew-along for the new book, and I set up a new Flickr group for it. I know she's got a lot of fun things planned along the way, so head over and join her! Thanks Jana!

* And last but not least, I know the nicest people in the whole world. Thank you to each one of you who has made my mom feel so loved. She is pretty great. Love you mom!

I guess that's it for now. Better get back to work. My goal today? Get caught up and actually make it out of these pajamas. I'll keep you posted.

A box came from Moda today and now I'm drowing in Scrumptious scraps over here. Do you want some? Leave me a comment below with the name of your favorite Thimble Blossoms pattern and someone I'll send out a couple of Priority boxes stuffed as full as I can get them. Sound good?

A few little half-square triangle tips

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of half-square triangles. There are so (SO!) many things you can do with them, and they are quick and easy to make. When I was filming my Craftsy class, we filmed a few tips on half-square triangles, and I thought I'd share them with you today.

I'm often asked when I show photos of my sewing room or machine what the green tape on it is for, and well, this is what it's for!

And then a little video on trimming HSTs. This is my favorite way to trim, and you don't have to have a special ruler to do it. Unless you need a good excuse for another ruler, which we all do, I know. ;-)

Anyway, just a few tips for today. By the way, my Craftsy class is still 25% off with this here. We are having so much fun over there. I have the BEST students!

A big thank you to Craftsy for the great videos. I have considered making them in the past, but am still waiting on that third arm I need to film myself while I sew. This is probably a better option.

Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you! It has been a very, very busy few weeks, but today I dropped my last Quilt Market quilt off at the quilter's, and had a celebratory lunch with this little boy, his toothbrushes, and his dad. Making it through the last few weeks definitely deserved a little celebrating.

As soon as I start getting quilts back I'll be sure to show you. Can't wait!
