A recent online poll in Memphis suggests more people are consider starting their own business.

The vast majority of those taking part in a Memphis Business
Journal online poll said they have considered starting their own
business in the past year.

68 percent of those who responded said they have had urges to go it alone to one degree or another.

The story continues...

At least one reader said that only through working for themselves will they feel compensated for their real value.

"I have worked for a large corporation for 29 years. Sadly, it has
taken me that long to realize that I will never make the money I am
worth as long as I'm working for someone else," they wrote. "We
experience more and more losses to attrition, are completely
overworked, and are told over and over again how we need to cut
spending. . . Meanwhile, our execs are making millions upon millions of
dollars with stupendous stock options. I blame myself for getting
sucked in to the cycle. To rectify my mistake, I must look at options
for starting my own business."

One of the Work At Home Dad Buckets is Google Adsense. I don't think I am allowed to represent my earnings or risk a Terms Of Service violation but it might be fair to say that my Google Adsense earnings would make the house payment of a very nice home.

Well, I logged in today to check my stats and saw something like 70 cents for the day, then I checked the traffic and realized that the stats have not been updated. A quick Google Blogs search showed that I was not alone and that it was a problem with reporting.

One word: Phew.

Google Adsense is not the largest check coming in, but I would rather have it than not.

Work At Home Dad Top Pick: Network Marketing

After close to a year of not actively building a Network Marketing
business, I am now back in the field with Max International. During my
sabbatical from building, I spent nine months hanging with Todd Falcone
as a consultant to his training business. Can you imagine having a
7-Figure Network Marketing earner pay you to work and travel with them?
Needless to say, I sucked up a lot of great knowledge from Todd. I love
the guy and would do anything for him. Todd is one of the most generous
people I know.

Todd and I did events in Baltimore, Philly, Dallas, Chicago,
Raleigh, Vancouver BC, Long Beach, and Phoenix, meeting wonderful
people and tremendous leaders.

As the year was coming to a close, I really began itching to get
back to building and shortly after that, I was exposed to Max
International. I was flown into the company in the second week of
January along with my business partner, Bo Short. After meeting with
the company ownership and management team, seeing the long term vision
and better understanding the product and compensation plan, Bo and I
decided to “hit it”.

The crazy part about deciding to actively build Max is that 3 days
after visiting the company, I was off to Thailand for a three week
vacation with my family. I bought a cell-phone in Bangkok and sent
emails out on a daily basis, but I’m sure that I was little help as Bo
got us qualified as top company revenue and associate recruiters in our
first month (really 2 weeks).

I returned February 5th and promptly got sick for another week, but
I was so excited that I would work for 30 minutes and then go back to
bed for 3 hours, several times a day. On or about February 11th, I
began feeling better and going all out.

In the month of February, our team (Team MaxImpact) qualified 5
people as associate and revenue recruiters (out of nine honored by the
company in the newsletter).

One thing I want to be very clear about is that we did not target
our previous group (in another company) and 99% (or more) of our growth
is brand new people. Some of these new folks are earning $1,500 to
$2,500 in their first month but more importantly, many are earning a
few hundred dollars.

This post is not an undercover attempt at recruiting people to work with us.

It is a blatant attempt to recruit great people to work with us.

You see, all of us are smarter than any one of us and we are working
to assemble a team of great leaders (and those who aspire to be great
leaders). We expect a lot and so should you. If you would like to speak
with us directly, visit this site to read more.

God Bless and Always Lead,

I like to occasionally assign myself a new title. I've been known as Ty Tribble, Husband, Dad and Entrepreneur for a while but I thought Certified Alarm Clock Killer has a nice ring (or no ring!) to it.

To be transparent, I do have an alarm clock and it is used for a handful of occasions:

1. Church - starts at 9AM and we usually serve communion so, can't be late.
2. Golf or Fishing - good reasons to get up early.
3. Travel - I guess I always look for the best deal online when booking travel and sometimes forget how much it sucks getting to the airport at 5AM.

Then there are my kids...love 'em, but they frankly start school before I would like to get up in the morning.

Don't get me wrong, I work hard. Sometimes 12 hours in a day, but I work on my schedule and I don't miss many swim meets, recitals or baseball games.

Life of a Work At Home Dad. If you would like to join me, (as a Work At Home Dad) visit here: Ty Tribble, Job Killer = )

I have played around with this blog for long enough. It's about time this blog began to reach it's full potential.

As I typed that last statement, I wonder how many people asked themselves a set of similar questions...

When was the last time you felt like you achieved your full potential?

When was the last time you feel like you gave your best to something?

Those are serious questions. I challenge you to take some time and answer them.

If becoming a Work At Home Dad (or Mom) is part of reaching your full potential, we need to talk.

My partner and I are willing to teach, coach and mentor a small group of Dad's towards home business success. If you would like to be part of this group, send me an email at: ty (at) tribble.org and we can schedule an interview. By the way, your coaches are both 6 figure Work At Home Dad's who have been featured in numerous magazines and books, including Entrepreneur Magazine.

I haven't had a lot of time to work while visiting Thailand so this entry will not contain much about Working From Home, but it will contain some of the benefits of owning your own business and working from home.

I have been in Thailand since January 23rd (kind of like Jan. 22nd since we lost a day). It's Sunday afternoon here in Changmai, Thailand and back in Seattle, it is Saturday night at 11:00 PM.

I have taken nearly 400 pictures (with the help of my kids) and I plan on placing them on Flickr once I return to Seattle, I will give you some of the best pictures here on the Work At Home Dad blog.

Taking nearly three weeks out of my schedule to visit Thailand with my family has been wonderful, but I am getting anxious to get back to work, helping others create a work at home lifestyle.

Elmo's was singing "Daddy's World" - from Hollywood

I found this interesting. This is a Buddhist temple in Bangkok, people worshiping Buddha and someone selling postcards inside (within 10 feet).

I'll post more soon...

I am sick and tired of being lumped into the baby changin' , play date arrangin', bottle washin', Stay At Home Dad category. I am a WORK At Home Dad...meaning a I create a significant income from home. As a matter of fact, my income is large enough to offer my wife the option of working outside of the home or not. She chooses not. (Although that is not 100% true because she is always volunteering at our children's school).

I seem to remember writing about my wife being a Stay At Home Mom, yet she is never home during the day.

But I digress. Here is the deal. If a mother is the money earner and the father is staying home with the children, I don't really have a problem with it, but it would be nice if Daddy-O would start a business that would enable his wife to quit her job so that she can enjoy the beauty and fun of raising her children.

Don't you think that two parents at home raising their children is better than 1 (or none)?

Lucky Number 17 for Duggars - Michelle Ready for More

Jennifer Danielle Duggar (or #17) was born at 10:01AM Arkansas time today. The Work At Home Dad's coverage of the Duggar's started at #15 when I jokingly made a special note to Michelle Duggar, "Stop!".

That post went top 10 on Google and spawned (heh - pun intended) dozens of comments and a debate that covered global population, Christian values and home schooling.

So now, whenever the Duggar's have another kid, (usually about every 18 months) this blog gets hammered with traffic. Should be fun.

Here is a snip from the press coverage of Jennifer:

An Arkansas couple had a baby daughter Thursday — their 17th child
and seventh girl — and the pair say they're still not ready to give it
a rest.

Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m. at a hospital in Rogers, Arkansas, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar said in an interview.

"We'd love to have more," Michelle said, referring to baby girls. "We love the ruffles and lace."

Jennifer joins the fast-growing Duggar brood, who live in a
7,000-square-foot (650-square-meter) home in Tontitown. All the
children — whose names start with the letter J — are taught at home.

The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years old.

Doesn't it seem like the back to school stuff happens earlier every year?

It's not like I have to go back to school, but I love summer. I love having my kids around. My wife would probably say that I like having playmates.

Go away retailers...my family refuses to acknowledge "back to school" until August (unless the sale is really good).

It was pretty neat seeing Ken Griffey Jr. back in Seattle. I for one, would love to see Jr. come back to the Mariners and end his career playing DH. You can sign the petition at www.bringgriffeyback.com if you feel the same way.

and a bonus from 1995. I was sitting in center field for this game in the Kingdome and I thought that the bleachers were going to come down. People were jumping up and down and I have never heard a louder place in my life.

To finish up, I will tell you about my one chance meeting with Ken Griffey Jr. I was at the Southcenter Mall, Victoria's Secret browsing at boxer shorts while waiting for my wife and who is also in the boxer shorts section...Ken Griffey Jr. I asked him for his autograph on the back of an ATM receipt and he gave it to me, but first he pretended to sign it Mike Tyson. It was classic and I will never forget it.

Help spread the word, Digg this story and visit BringGriffeyBack.com.

Thanks to a couple of delays because of snow and power outages, school finally let out for my 2 kids today. After the closing ceremony, my daughter went to a Bar-B-Q with some friends so my wife and I took out soon out for lunch. After lunch, we all came back home and I went back to my office to get some work done. As I was trying to come up with some words to finish off an article I was writing, my son decided it was a good time to stand at the door of my office and babble.

I gently reminded him that I had to work and he zipped it for about 10 seconds and then went right back to the babbling. I mean serious babbling, like part singing and part gibberish. After the 3rd reminder, I realized that today is a special day and the adrenaline levels are running pretty high because of the excitement of the last day of school. I almost went into my loud Dad voice that reminds the kids about food on the table and just because Dad works at home, doesn't mean it's all fun and games, etc., but I held back, The last day of school is special and I can remember many of my last day of the school year days, so I let the boy babble.

Now that I think about it, my kids are actually less distracting than some of the people I worked with while I was in corporate life.

In fact, many times I was required to listen to babbling that made about as much sense as my son today.

I suspect that the next time he starts babbling, I'll listen with a different perspective and consider the fact that it could be a lot worse.

Set Small Work At Home Goals

Are you ready to kill your job and start earning your income from home?

If so, I am looking for a student to apply what I have learned over the last 15 years in the home based business industry. If you are interested, contact me through TyTribble.com. No shy people allowed to apply. I will be using you as a case study.

On with today's tip on setting small goals.

The first goal I want you to set is to earn an average of $10 a day online. $10 may not seem like a lot, but it is over $300 in extra income a month. Remember, you are no longer on a 20 day work/pay cycle.

You can now get paid 30 days a month!

I think that an ongoing stream of $10 a day can be made by applying 15 to 30 one hour days. That's 15 to 30 hours or consistent work. We'll call these hours "Kill Your Job" hours. Most businesses take some money to start but our goal will be to have you in the black at the end of the 15 to 30 day push.

If you are wondering, I have a specific outline for anyone that would like to do this and while I am looking for a couple of people to do the case study, I am willing to share the plan with others in addition to the case study folks.

My goal is to kill jobs and bring Dads home. If you want to kill your job, contact me at me web site: TyTribble.com

I just returned home from a wonderful Father's Day weekend in Cannon Beach, Oregon with my wife's family. If you ever venture to Cannon Beach, I suggest staying at the Tolovana Inn and having at least one meal at the Warren House Pub. I ate great food, drank good beer, built sand castles, roasted marshmallows for s'mores and swam with my kids in the indoor pool. I am well rested and ready to get busy.

When I re-committed myself to this blog a few weeks ago, I didn't completely know what was going to come out of it. Over the last couple of weeks a couple of things really stuck with me and I have been thinking about them often:

1. The fact that my generation is poorer than my fathers generation.

2. Climbing the corporate ladder requires giving up your personal life in order to serve the corporation.

My focus? Help men (and women) get off the ladder. I am going to do all that I can to help men kill their jobs and buy back their lives, spending more time with their wife and kids. Working from home is my greatest accomplishment and now I am ready to help you do the same.

I'm Ty Tribble, Husband, Dad and Entrepreneur
(soon to be known as Ty Tribble, Job Killer)
