Here is another photo of a card I saw at Leadership in San Antonio. It is made with the Rue Des Fleurs stamp set from the 2012 Occasions Mini, page 22, #125487 $23.95 clear mount, #125485 $29.95 wood mount. The paper used is the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper from the Occasions mini, page 23, #125407. This stamp set and Designer Series Paper are so romantic and vintage-looking. The strips of DSP were adhered to a piece of cardstock, then run through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. Then the images were stamped directly onto the DSP - SOOOOO pretty!

One of the highlights of any Stampin' Up! event is all of the cards made by demonstrators that are on display. There is always a huge crowd of demonstrators trying to take photos to use for inspiration when they get home.

This is one of the cards that caught my eye. Unfortunately, I don't know who made it; if that person sees this post please contact me so I can give you credit.

The colorful diamonds were stamped using the Send Me Soaring stamp set from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog (page 37, #125442 $18.95 clear mount, #125440 $23.95 wood mount). I love the color combinations, and clever way the artist used the stamped images.

Packed For Mom Card

At the annual Leadership Conference there are always lots of "main stage" presentations, by Shelly Gardner herself, Stampin' Up! employees, and demonstrators. Here is a card from one of these presentations, made with the Packed For Mom stamp that can be found on page 39 of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog, #125450, $9.95 wood mount. I think it makes a perfect Mother's Day card. There are three other "a la carte" wood-mounted stamps in this series, Packed For Baby #125672, Packed For Birthday #125746, and Packed For Dad #125452. Each one is is $9.95, and provides a perfect oppportunity for coloring images.

The frame was made using the Curly Label punch. I will be showing how this is done at a future class, maybe in March. I also love the colors that were used on this card, as well as the accent at the botton made with the Silver Glimmer paper and the Tasteful Trim die. Cute, huh?

One wonderful thing about attending a Stampin' Up! event is seeing what other demonstrators, as well as members of the Stampin' Up! Corporate office, have created.

I am excited to tell you about an addition to the Stampin' Up! product line - the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate fits nicely on the Simply Scored, and enables you to easily create your own envelopes as well as create backgrounds on your greeting cards and other paper-crafting projects.

The Simply Scored Diagonal Plate was demonstrated at the 2012 Leadership Conference in San Antonio, and we were all thrilled at how easy it is to use. I have been impatiently waiting for February 20th because today is the day Stampin' Up! demonstrators can pre-order this useful new tool. The Riverwalk, San Antonio - Stampin' Up! Leadership 2012

One nice thing about San Antonio is The Riverwalk. You can access various area of the Riverwalk by foot - there are steps leading down to it at different places, and there are some beautiful foot bridges so a person can cross to the other side. I am so glad we had time to explore some of San Antonio and The Riverwalk before the Leadership festivities began! It is so easy to get around, either by walking or taking a cab.

We took a 45-minute boat tour of the San Antonio River our first afternoon in San Antonio. Here is a photo I took of my roommate, Reiko, and mutual friend, Anne, as we were beginning the tour.

Here is a photo of part of the Riverwalk area. You can see one of the foot bridges connecting one side of the Riverwalk to the other. As you can see, The Riverwalk is a very popular area.

There are MANY wonderful restaurants that line the Riverwalk. We made sure to try some of them each night for dinner.

There are many amazing sights on the boat tour. This photo is of tree roots that have surfaced in a very unusual manner.

Leadership In San Antonio

I think it is about time I share some photos I took at Leadership 2012 in San Antonio. Our first day there we picked up our convention bags, ate lunch at the oldest Mexican restaurant in town, then walked to The Alamo. This is a photo of me, my roommate Reiko, and Anne standing in front of what is sacred ground to Texans.

The next day, Thursday, Leadership events were in full swing. Here is a photo of the very happy and excited demonstrators in the Lila Cockrell Theatre, which is adjacent to the convention center. The theme of this year's Leadership event was "My Way". I overheard many demonstrators saying that this year's Leadership was the best ever - I totally agree.

I want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day by sharing this card with you. I got the basic design from a swap card I got at Leadership in San Antonio, but changed up the colors and Designer Series Paper.

This is one of the cards I made for my booth at our local Crafters Mall. I used some old DSP, Love Letters from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. But I also used the new Labels Collection Framelits Die from the current Occasions Mini Catalog.

Take It To Heart card for Margaret

I wanted to make an extra-special Valentine card for my daughter, Margaret. I chose to use the Take It To Heart stamp set from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog (#125522 clear mount, #125520 wood mount).

I had so much fun making this card! I got to play with a new stamp set, and the new Hearts Collection Framelits dies, both from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog. Valentine For My Grandson

My grandson, David, is 17, which in my mind presented a challenge for creating a Valentine card that wasn't all mushy. I decided to use the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set from the 2012 Sale-A-Bration catalog. The set is so versatile, with images of a star, a flower, as well as a heart, plus some sentiments I really like. To make this card I also used one of the awesome new products that are introduced in the 2012 Occasions Mini - the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. There are three different designs; I chose to use the hearts image. You can view the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog and the new embossing folders by clicking on the Occasions Mini link on the left side of this page.

I didn't have a "grandson" stamp, so I improvised by using the words, "grand" and "son" from the Family Reunion stamp set (#122712 clear mount, #122710 wood mount) from the 2011/2012 Idea Book & Catalog. I stamped the word "grand" directly onto the card, then stamped the word "son" on a piece of scrap cardstock, cut out the letters, then adhered them to the card using dimensionals.
