The website we here at Uber Link Building want to share with you today is a website that has a pagerank of six and is very popular site. The site is called Piczo, and here is a little copy/paste snippet from their about page:

Piczo empowers teens worldwide to creatively express themselves, build personal communities, and share experiences with their friends in a safe environment.

Well, in addition to offering you the ability to make your own personal community and website on their server, you can also include links to your already active websites inside your blog posts. Registering for the site takes only a few seconds, and then creating a blog post and promoting it will only take a few minutes more. The end result is you will end up with a keyworded subdomain on Piczo’s PR6 domain that can easily and quickly be indexed and linking back to your flagship site in no time.

Uber Link Buildings Piczo Blog took under a minute to build, and is not very professional, but it gives you a quick idea, and obviously you should notice the HTML dofollow link that links to Uber Link Building’s homepage.

Quality is key in off-page optimization in foreign markets

Search engine optimization can be divided into two broad categories: on-page optimization and off-page optimization.

The on-page stuff is reasonably straight-forward, in that the optimizer has full control over what they write and what is uploaded to the website. In the simplest possible terms, they have to incorporate key search phrases into the main copy of their website so that Google – and other search engines – can match the site to searches made by the world’s internet users.

The off-page aspect of SEO, however, isn’t so straight forward as it’s often not possible to have full control over the related optimizing activities, as too much depends on the cooperation of external parties.

According to Google, link-building determines around 80% of a website’s placement within its rankings. But it’s all about quality rather than quantity for modern-day optimizers. Whilst there was a time when ‘link exchanges’ were commonplace between website owners to boost their search engine rankings, this is no longer enough. Links must form part of a broader piece of content that is useful. Isolated links have little value, especially on a website that isn’t ‘trusted’ by Google.

So a link from CNN, BBC or Reuters will have considerably more impact than a link from a low-level website at the bottom-end of the Alexa ranking scale.

With international markets, the ‘how tos’ of link-building are much the same as domestic markets, but there is a few additional issues worth considering.

For example, keywords and anchor text go hand-in-hand. So a business that ranks highly on Google for, say, ‘car insurance’, will more than likely have a number of links placed around the Web with ‘car insurance’ linking back to the company website.

When the business launches its foreign language website to target new international markets, there may be a temptation to translate the keywords directly. But even a correct translation by a professional, native-speaking translator might not be what people use to search for ‘car insurance’ locally. Indeed, a quick search of Google’s keyword tool for France reveals that people tend not to use the (correct) translation ‘l’assurance automobile’ to search for ‘car insurance’, they tend to use the abbreviation ‘assurance auto’ or even the variant ‘assurance voiture’. So, a little research can avert a major link building travesty.

As with domestic SEO techniques, there’s no substitute for quality content with your foreign link-building initiatives. Fresh, relevant content with a liberal smattering of industry keywords will be rewarded by Google.

Organic link-building is the dream of any optimizer and if you produce fantastic, useful text on your foreign-language website, other blogs and website owners will link to you naturally with minimal effort from you. A good example of this is software developers Adobe. You’ll notice that many websites link to the free Adobe reader, which is necessary to view PDF documents. As a result, Adobe has one of the highest in-bound link counts of all websites, more than Microsoft AND Wikipedia. And their Alexa ranking isn’t all that bad either.

For businesses with domestic and international operations, PR is perhaps your most powerful tool in getting quality, organic links. If anything newsworthy or quirky happens within your business, shout it from the rooftops. It’s free to send out press releases to all the top news publications and if they pick up on the story, the chances are they’ll provide a link to your website. It might even be worth hiring a PR guru for a couple of months who can help identify all the newsworthy aspects of your business and who can then pitch this to domestic news sources. If it works, then you can have the press release translated and dispatched to international publications too. A good PR consultant can even identify and tailor stories specifically for international publications.

With international markets, link-building isn’t all that different but remember that localization is the name of the game – treat each country as a separate entity and research each market thoroughly, especially the proper keywords to target.

This post was guest-submitted by reader Nora from Lingo24, a global translation service company.

Redgage has many features that you can read on their about page, or many of the startup reviews that you can find with Google. From a link building perspective, there is a place on your dashboard that allows for adding link(s) to your profile, which are anchor text and dofollow. Take a look at the Collin’s RedGage profile for an example (yes I write about myself in third person now).

$25 Contest

If you’ve ever needed images for a website or project, you may be familiar with the free stock photo website SXC.hu. The site is popular with many webmasters because of its 350,000 royalty-free photos, but it has a lot more to offer than great pictures: high PageRank backlinks.

Using SXC’s blog feature, you can get a number of dofollow anchor links to your site. Each blog post is made up of a title, a lead, and a body. The lead of each post is displayed on your profile page, so this is where you want to place the links. SXC profiles can range in rank from PR3 to PR6.

For an example, take a look at my profile page here. At the bottom, you can see where the links will end up. Because I have posted several photos and commented on numerous other images, my profile is PR5. I recommend commenting on other users’ pictures and submitting any good quality photos you have. This will increase the number of internal links to your profile. SXC is a very authoritative site so if you promote yourself internally, there should be no need to build external links to your user page.

Here are a few tips:

After registering, go to “My Account / Blog.” You must preview your post before publishing.

Use the code anchor text for links. Remember, they must be in the lead section in order to appear on the high-PageRank profile page.

Your profile page will show your latest three posts only. Plan accordingly.

Your blog has a page, too. So you really get two links

Be careful not to check “Recommend for front page” accidentally.

You can go back and edit posts later to change a link.

On a final note, you can also post URL links in photo comments by simply copying and pasting the link. While it won’t have an anchor, the link will pass PageRank and is a good way to get a page indexed. One thing I like to do is use SXC images for my blog posts, go back to the photo, and post a thank-you comment with a link to my content. SXC photographers (myself included) love to know where their work is being used.

This is a guest post submitted by Daniel Foster. He writes about the latest software and technology, including TurboTax Deluxe, on his blog.

As many of you have probably already noticed, I have redirected CollinLaHay.com to UberLinkBuilding.com. The switch will take a few weeks for all of the pages to adjust on the search engines, as well as the new wordpress theme to be configured.

There are a lot of reasons why I have switched the domain name to this blog, but the biggest reasons are that I wanted to:

1.) Making It Official

Previously this was a one-man show of mine (Collin LaHay), but it is time to expand. Jeremy Quinn, another link building consultant and good friend of mine has jumped aboard Uber Link Building as well.

2.) Increase Website Traffic

Much to my surprise when I first changed my blog’s name to CollinLahay.com, my name is a lot harder to spell than I figured it was, as about 20% of my traffic were going to many typo-variations of my name. One fifth of my traffic volume typing the wrong thing is a big problem. Another way changing the domain will increase traffic is by having my keyword (link building) in the URL, as the search engines give a little extra benefit to sites with that, so that certainly will help for longtail keywords.

3.) More Focus

When I originally started this blog in November of 2007, I wanted to focus on many different types of website marketing techniques, and have become a blog focused primarily on websites that can be used for link building, as this is a niche that not many people can cover.

Why Uber?

It is short, easily remembered, and it works as an adjective for “superior,” something that our blog aims to be over all the other SEO blogs when it comes to link building.

What can we look forward to?

More free link building posts, soon a more simpler blog design that is easier to navigate, as well as the ability to hire us as link building consultants for your company.

Hello readers of Collin LaHay’s link building blog, my name is Srihari and I am from India working as a link builder & love to share my knowledge with those that have helped me out at the same time. I am fan of Collin’s link building cookbook and regularly check the posts and update myself to build links to my sites. Today I am here because I wanted to submit a guest post to show all of you a new place to build a link.

Recently I visited one site called Footygoss that provides news for the AFL and the various state leagues, especially the WAFL. Footygoss vision is to become the leader in football news and information at all levels right across Australia.

As usual I registered there and discovered that this site allows you to create a free user profile. Once you registered their, visit the User Control Panel and you can edit your profile & add a pure html dofollow link in BIO Section.

This is a guest post submitted by Srihari who owns and operates a free web directory.
