10:00 - Microsoft Windows Remote Assistance. How to use this tool that is bundled into Windows by default.

15:27 - Netmeeting. Windows Netmeeting has been around since the Windows 98 days and still lives on Windows XP. Here I'll talk about how to set it up and get it set up for Remote Desktop Sharing.

26:17 - TightVNC. A freeware application that runs on the Host machine, and then can be accessed using a web browser. It's available from http://www.tightvnc.com

29:35 - All else fails. There's routers are in the way, and you can't get them configured. There's a web based tool called http://www.gotomypc.com. Essentially, you download and run the program on the PC you want to connect to. That PC then logs onto the Internet and connects to gotomypc. Then using the internet The client PC connects to gotomypc and logs in. Because both computers are initiating the communication on an out going basis, it allows routers to be circumvented. I have not used this process, but have read about it.

Hi all. I recorded the podcast last night. I uploaded it to ourmedia.org, but as usual their upload tool crapped out on me several times. Instead I uploaded it via FTP to the Internet Archive, but it's been sitting there "Waiting for a curator" to verify. I hope it'll be available tonight, if not then tomorrow for sure.

In Technews.

Releasing the USA's Stranglehold on the Internet.
An interesting article was written on the third preparatory meeting for the World Summit on Technology Society. Since the Internet has become so important in many countries' basic infrastructure that it has become important to break the USA's control of the Internet.

I bought a Set top DVD-Recorder. I'll give you a preliminary run down of how I came onto this unit. The hack also works on the Daytek, Philips, and Gateway Clone models. Here's some links as promised.

After explaining my decision on the dvd recorder I talk a little about the broadcast flag. More info on it is at the EFF site. http://www.eff.org

Horrible, unsightly delays have prevented me from posting the 4th episode.

Since I wanted to keep the podcast on a budget, I was using the Ourmedia.org service, but for the past two evenings I've been unable to upload the file. Even as I type this the ourmedia.org service isn't functioning properly.

I've taken the plunge into high expense. I've signed up with a webhost that will allow me 330GB of transfer a month. I don't know how I will pay for it yet. My podcast is free and will remain free. I don't want to use advertising either. So. For now I'm doing nothing, but I may put a Paypal donations button up if I feel that the costs of continuing the show are rising.

Aparently this isn't a new problem for podcasters, but I sure as hell didn't think it would happen to me by episode 4!

I hope to have Tuesdays show for you guys by tomorrow.

We had a problem already. The feeds at feedburner.com somehow was corrupted. I had the tech support at feedburner help me out and they blew away the feed. I've recreated it, but the URI's changed.

The new feed is now consistent to the name of the podcast. I apologize to the listeners we had already.
