Our Health Centre provides free treatment to women and children patients with free OPD consultation, free medicines and immunization programme.

Uday Foundation’s health centre provides free OPD consultation, free medicines, basic investigations on reproductive and child health, immunization programme and referral services to the government and 42 major private hospitals that provide free treatment for poor patients.

Our health centre is providing free primary health care services to a population of 10 slums & villages of South Delhi including Adhchini, Bagumpur, Kalu Sarai, Katawaria Sarai, Mehrauli, Chattarpur, Khirki Village, Neb Sarai, Ber Sarai with main objective to improve the status of health among children & mothers, to arouse adequate consciousness and awareness  about health and hygiene among villages and to maintain small family and increase acceptors of different methods for birth control.

Majority of the project area are the urban villages and slums of South Delhi with majority of population belonging to migrants from UP and Bihar working as daily labourers and they are not able to afford medical treatment in private clinic and going to a Govt. hospital means loosing a day’s wage, naturally the maternal mortality, child mortality and morbidity, dehydration and malnutrition rate is increasing day after day in these area. The percentage of literacy among women of lower middle classes is limited to being educated upto the of primary standard. So any intervention health center with referral services in case of serious illness will help these people to equip themselves for the betterment of their standard of health and hygienic condition..

Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2013 with Uday Foundation

The Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is one of the best races in India. If you Run for Uday this year, yours won’t be the only life that changes.

In 2011, Uday Foundation generated money to start a unique project “Stories on Wheels for Kids in the Hospital” which is now running successfully in the hospital.  In Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2012 Uday Foundation generated awareness about ill effects of Junk Food in Schools.  See Pictures

The objective of Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is to help raise money for charity. There are 4 options available to avail this platform as a fund raising tool,  Raising pledges is when you ask friends, family and colleagues to support your run by donating money to the good cause you have chosen. People supporting you have the option to pledge as much or as little as they want to. Following are the modes of raising pledges :-

Corporate Challenge

A group of companies that contribute a minimum of Rs. 2.25 lacs and send a group of upto 25 employees and Rs. 3.25 lacs  for a team of 40 people to participate in the event. We all wish we could do more to support underprivileged serious patients facing challenges and their caregivers, beyond our prayers.

Sometimes the family members of serious patients do not have time to look after themselves, not even have the time to have food, which is the basic necessity as they are always around taking care of their close ones.

Majority of the patients admitted in Delhi hospitals are those who come from nearby states are often poor, in several cases family members decide to go hungry to save money.

Uday Foundation has started a free food van, where we serve free, but wholesome, food to families of underprivileged patients in ICUs of the Govt. Hospital also for the children who come from a far to the Delhi hospitals for often longer treatments.

At present we are sending  food packets twice a week to the patients living in Dharamshalas near AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital. With support of our volunteers and friends, we hope we shall be able to send food every day to these needy people.

Winter Clothes Donations in Delhi | Organize Winter Clothes donation drive at your office, organization, school, college to help homeless poor people forced to live in open

This winter, share your clean, gently worn coats, jackets, sweaters, shawls, gloves, scarves, hats, and blankets.

As the weather turns cold in Delhi, condition of homeless underprivileged people who are forced to live under open sky is severe.  There are hundreds of homeless people in Delhi who are forced to live under flyovers, on footpaths, underpass, bus stop or train station and spend harsh winters on the streets without even basic clothing.

Every year in winters, Uday Foundation organize various winter’s clothes donation drives with the support of volunteers, organizations, schools and residents of various societies of Delhi.

This year too we need more warm winter clothing including sweaters, jackets, woolen caps, socks & boots to take care of adults and children and their family members living under open sky in Delhi. .

You can lend a hand to the cause of Uday Foundation by hosting a winter clothes donation drive at your office, school, society or any convenient place. There are so many people around who always want to do something for the society but they do not get much time as they are already occupied with their prior commitments.

When the whole world celebrate Christmas and eagerly waiting for the New Year, some people continue to struggle to survive in chilling winter of Delhi. Situation worsens for the underprivileged sick people in the Government hospitals and their families. Winter has always been an annual disaster for thousands of those having no roof over their heads.

Woolens Donation Drive

Season is changing and your clothes from last year may not fit. If you notice clothes piling up in your family’s closets — and you’re looking for a way to help the less fortunate — donating clothes could be a super-easy start. From 1st December 2012 to 31st January 2013, we will collect all kinds of woolens for children and adults at our collection centers.

A small gesture of yours will be a boon for poverty stricken, deprived people to stay warm during the cruel winter season. So, show your generosity, and help us to collect as many as woolens to keep the deprived ones warm and comfortable in winters.

•  Donate a warm winter coat, sweater, jacket, cap, or scarf that you are not wearing anymore.
•  Donate clothes that your children have outgrown.
•  Donate boots and shoes in good condition.
•  Donate maternity clothes, baby clothes and other nursery essentials to help a young family provide a better start for their newborn.
•  Donate the clothes that always find their way to the back of your drawer.

There is a saying, “A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside”. So, this winter, let’s bring out that smiling ‘caring-sharing’ person in you and start this season by lighting other’s lives.

“SHARE AND CARE MONTH” Drive is exclusively meant for the children and adults in the hospitals, children living near railway tracks, under flyovers, children of daily wagers at construction sites, under- privileged children in Govt. hospitals and to some of our city’s most in-need populations.

In-Kind Help

We all wish to bring smiles to hundreds of children in the hospitals and help the underprivileged serious patients and their families to spend time in dignified manner in the hospitals by providing basic essential items. SHARE AND CARE WEEK is the right time to bring little happiness to them.

We help underprivileged patients who are currently undergoing various medical treatments at government hospitals. This group comprises people of various ages, health conditions and cultures. They are from different remote location and rural India, where they do not have even access to basic health care.

Every Year Uday Foundation celebrates Diwali, the festival of light by touching the lives of the little children in hospitals in a meaningful way. Last year we celebrated the same by brining smiles to the faces of children battling with Cancer at BR Ambedkar Hospital AIIMS and little children with heart defects in Escorts Heart Institute.

There are a number of children who spend Diwali in hospitals as they are suffering from various illnesses and who may not have anything to look forward to this Diwali.

However, our volunteers continue to bring a difference to their life. Sometimes, all it takes is a little love and care so when you are busy in exchanging gifts with near and dear ones, just give a thought to bring little happiness to these kids.

This year our Diwali theme is Umeedon Ki Diwali and we hope to touch life of over 1500 children in 10 Hospitals of Delhi by Diwali Gift Distribution, Magic Shows, Storytelling Session and many more fun activities.

Diwali is a excellent time to start thinking about helping other people. This includes providing food, clothing and toys for families to enable them to experience the joy of the Diwali Festival. Giving warmth, love and hope. That?s what Diwali should be all about.
