Recently, I heard a story of how rag dolls come about. All I knew beforehand was that it is child's toy which looks too cute and funny.
Rag dolls are really just simple dolls made out of leftover cloth and scrap materials mothers could find in their work space. The more material you have, the bigger the doll is made. It is traditionally home-made for the poorer families who did not have money to buy an expensive doll at a store. They are normally made in sizes which the child can carry wherever they are. It is a source of comfort to them, especially when they are travelling.
