The common belief is that if you wait too long at a junction, then you will fail. This is not true, which is why I have made the video below to explain to you what this fault is, and why you should not rush at a junction and commit a serious error due to lack of knowledge.

It takes practice and experience to pass the UK driving test, so take your time and drive safely!

The first video should help provisional licence holders with UK mini-roundabouts, particularly being able to find gaps when there are many cars approaching from the right and thus avoid the common fault of undue hesitation.

The second driving lesson video covers mult-lane roundabouts, and uses the famous apex corner that is on the Mill Hill and Hendon Aviation Square driving test route.

How To Deal with Multi-Lane Roundabouts on a Dual Carriage

For the benefit of a few people who have made comments about some lane changes in the video, the driving instructor was following the road markings, and those of you familiar with these roundabouts will know why many provisional licence holders visiting this area for the first time on their driving test have problems.

Finally here is a bonus video to help you with the use of indicators at different types of roundabouts.

It is very important that you get enough practice on your manuevers and get rid of any weaknesses to increase your chances and avoid failing the driving test due to a simple silly mistake which could cost you a lot of money and time.
If you have passed the driving test, I would advice taking a Pass Plus Motorway Driving Lesson to gain confidence and be safe in this environment, as it is not quite the same as being on a 70MPH dual carriageway.

It is a lack of concentration, and many learner drivers are surprised when they are failed for it!

The driving test tips in the video should also be used for the turn in the road, bay parking, parallel car parking.

The video below shows you the 2 common mistakes made during the turn in the road exercise.

2 Important tips to help you when doing any manuever on the driving test:

The most common cause of failure on the UK driving test, is serious faults committed at junctions, so have a look at the following video.

Finally here is a video to help you deal with large roundabouts.

The driving video below shows one of the harder Mill Hill independent driving routes in use by the DSA examiners.
This video is current as of Jan 2014, and includes full commentary showing the tricky places where many candidates have failed in the past, and how to avoid the same serious driver faults and errors.

The dreaded Apex corner during independent driving is covered, the 70mph A1 dual carriageway as well as other complex junctions and roads.

While the reference points are for the yaris, they should work in other vehicles as well.
The most important thing to bear in mind is take your time, keep looking around and keep control of the car. if you make a mistake, keep practising until you get it right so that on the day of your test, your confidence is high.

There is another driving test manuever that candidates might fail on, so the video below gives you advice on how to avoid them.

Do not give the DSA examiner an excuse for failing you, be observant and keep your vehicle slow.
If it is safe, you can now move off by putting the handbrake down, bring the clutch up a litte bit, once the car starts to move hold the left foot still while you steer the car into the road or perform the test maneuver you have been asked to do. If you develop the habit of always using POM during your drving lessons, then you won't find yourself being penalised by the DSA driving examiner during your road test!

For more detailed information about the POM routine and other DSA driving systems visit Ann's driving lessons blog and follow her as she prepares for the UK driving test.

Your comments are welcome on this driving school video.

Driving School TV Show Blooper Video

Here are a few funny moments from the last episode of the learner driver TV show we produced this summer.

Driving School Videos

Driving School Reality Video

This is the latest episode of our learner driver reality video.

Our driving school reality show is not only educational, providing the UK driving test candidate with vital information, but the TV show gives you an insight into the life of driving instructors and the challenges they face getting various pupils to the standard required to pass the UK driving test.

In this episode of our reality TV show, we give advice on choosing an instructor, meet our resident ADI, while our TV presenter begins driving lessons.

<itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit><itunes:subtitle>This is the latest episode of our learner driver reality video.
Our instructor is a fully qualified DTI approved driving instructor, has many years of driving experience, is very patient and offers refresher lessons, motorway tuition, Pass Plus course, regular learner lessons as well as intensive driving courses for those who want to pass the test within a short period.

Our instructor provides a service that is good value for your money, with all lessons conducted on a one to one basis, following a DSA structured guide and you get a full hour of quality tuition.

The car used is compact and very easy to drive, has air conditioning so your lesson is conducted in a comfortable environment no matter the weather, is always less than 1 year old, thus very reliable and less likely to breakdown.

The adaptation of the car for filming of driving school videos also means that you can have your lesson recorded on DVD even if you are not interested in appearing on our learner driver TV show, a service that allows you to review your lesson over and over again in the comfort of your house at a time that suits you thus enhancing your learning experience.

If you would like to know more and get on the way to learning to drive and getting your Full driving license then email tdi@ukadi.co.uk with your phone number. Driving lesson video recordings are optional!
