«В этом году основной темой мероприятия стал «средневековый базар», так как третий сезон мы исследуем на территории Увекского городища именно то место, где обнаруженные нами фрагменты средневекового сооружения, предметы и ряд других признаков указывают на то, что во второй половине XIV века здесь существовал базар. Это знаковое открытие для научного сообщества. Подобное сооружение было известно только в одном золотоордынском городе – Болгар в юго-западной части Республики Татарстан. Аналогичная находка на территории Саратовской области заставляет задуматься о существовании общегосударственной практики строительства базаров по схожей планировке во многих городах Золотой Орды. Особенно отмечу, что по соображениям безопасности проводить мероприятие на территории микрорайона Увек сейчас не представляется возможным. На уличной площадке предстала «ожившая картина» ежедневной жизни средневекового города, сконцентрированной вокруг шумного и яркого базара. Гости Фестиваля «Укек-2026» могут пройтись по торговым рядам и заглянуть в лавки ремесленников, изучить работу оружейников, понаблюдать за работой кузнеца, отчеканить сувенирную монетку времен Золотой Орды, посмотреть на поединки воинов, освоить искусство письменности, поиграть в старинные игры, окунуться в мир средневековых историй и легенд на представлениях кукольного театра, пообщаться с «шаманом», узнать особенности средневековой медицины, попробовать сделать стеклянные бусины, освоить мастерство старинного рукоделия и ткачества, поймать вместе со стражниками «воришек», пострелять из лука, увидеть много интересного из жизни и быта людей того периода и сделать колоритные фотографии с реконструкторами из Саратов, Энгельса, Самары и Москвы.
Также в этом году на Фестивале представлены новые локации: мини-выставка «Средневековые пытки» (18+), мастер-классы по созданию медных пуговиц и практикумы по басме — древней технике тиснения рельефных узоров на тонких металлических листах.
Этот «временной портал» переносит посетителей уличной площадки в зону археологии, где представлена работа современных исследователей средневекового Укека. Здесь можно заглянуть в камеральную лабораторию, попробовать открыть средневековые замочки, побывать на мастер-классах по каллиграфии, узнать особенности работы специалистов по археологической реставрации (Институт археологии им. А.Х. Халикова Академии наук Республики Татарстан) и участников археологической экспедиции на Увекском городище и даже примерить на себя роль археолога.
Внутри здания только в дни Фестиваля работает мультимедийная выставка «Средневековый базар Укека». Новый интерактивный выставочный проект приглашает совершить виртуальное путешествие в прошлое. В цифровом пространстве представлены история Укека — одного из крупных городов Золотой Орды на Волге, а также его многолетних исследований, благодаря которым исчезнувший город постепенно «возвращается» из-под земли. В центре внимания — процесс раскопок предполагаемого базара XIV века. Отдельные залы рассказывают, как были устроены восточные базары, кто здесь торговал, и какие товары можно было встретить в торговых рядах.
