After Boris Johnson took charge as the Prime Minister, Truss was appointed as the Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade. In September 2019, Truss had also taken up the additional role of Minister of Women and Equalities. During the 2021 cabinet reshuffle, the 47 year old was promoted as the Foreign Secretary and was initiated by Johnson. It was in July 2022 when Liz Truss had announced about her intensions to take charge of the Conservative Party leadership and participate in the election to replace Boris Johnson.

During her speech, Liz had pledged that she would cut taxes on the first day if she was elected. She had also assured that she would also take some immediate actions that would help people to deal with the problem of cost of living. Liz Truss also assured that she would take a number of actions related to the state taxes that would take off some of the burden from the tax payers.

Leader of Conservatives of the largest political party in the Parliament of the United Kingdom and after her election Truss was received by Queen Elizabeth II to appoint her as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. As the Queen has mobility issues, Her Highness received Truss at the Balmoral Castle in Scotland. This marked the first time she has not received a new Prime Minister at Buckingham Palace during her reign.

Last week, the search engine giant said that it is ready to test the camera-equipped reality glasses in public. The blog post by the company has mentioned about a number of statements that have been designed to assure people that this time it is not going to be the era of glassholes again. The search engine has said that it is beginning with a few dozen testers that will have the cameras and microphones on the glasses but they will not be supporting photography and videography.

But Google said that they will collect visual data and it intends the users of the device to be able to translate a menu that is in front of them. The support page of the company has also mentioned about the list of FAQs that includes what the image data is being used for and for how long it is stored. There is going to be an LED light that will light up of Google decided to save images for analysis. The company has also assured that it will delete them 30 days later.

As of now Google has said that the testers will now be used in hospitals, churches, playgrounds, schools and playgrounds, but nothing has been said about restaurants and bars.

Reports have said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be moving closer to their Great grandmother and their grandmother Carole Middleton, who has always been by their side whenever the family needed while travelling in and out of London. After the family moves, reports have said that the Prince George and Princess Charlotte will be leaving the London prep school Thomas Battersea when the current term ends. They will be enrolled at a school nearby the Windsor region. Prince William and Kate are expected to move in to the Adelaide Cottage at the Windsor estate, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Prince William and Kate got married in 2011 and moved to Apartment A1 at Kensington Palace in 2013. The place was earlier occupied by Princess Margaret, who was the sister of the Queen and passed away in 2002. Kate and William will now reside nearer to the 96 year old Queen, who has resided at Windsor ever since the coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020. There was a time when the Queen spent a number of weekends at the property, but then she opted to make it has permanent residence earlier in 2022.

It is now obvious that Kate and William’s children will be able to spend more time with their grandmother and great grandmother. Kate Middleton has earlier mentioned that her mother likes to play with her grandchildren at the outdoors and is these days teaching them gardening. The couple along with their children was recently seen being a part of the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Queen’s reign.

Despite suspending its operations in Russia, the company did not stop paying its employees. Krishna said that it was not their fault and do not deserve to suffer due to the sanctions against the Russian Government.

However, Krishna also clarified that the ability to pay the Russian employees could be in danger as the sanctions progress gradually. There might soon be a time that the company will have to stop paying the employees in the country. But it is still not clear if the payroll abilities of the company had dried up before it decided to permanently exit the country.

The decision to shut down the business of IBM in Russia has caused a loss of about $300 million in revenues in Q1 in 2022. IBM is not the only sufferer as other companies like HP, Adobe and Cisco have also reported loss due to their sudden exit from Russia.

It has been more than two years since Prince Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior members of the Royal family. They are ready to arrive any day now with their children after they received an invitation from the Queen. The couple has been barred from joining the Royal family at the Buckingham Palace Balcony on June 2, 2022, but they are expected to join for a service at St. Paul’s Cathedral and for the Palace pop concert.

As for Harry and Meghan, they have established a new life for themselves in California and have also bought a multi-million pound home. Royal Mail has also clarified that it does not plan to make any more job cuts apart from the 700 managerial roles that were cut earlier in 2022. The problem of inflation has been looming over the United Kingdom since the month of March 2022. The company has already hiked the prices of posting letters by around 7 percent and the parcel prices have also been increased by about 4 percent. The increase in the prices had marked the price of the first-class stamp to 96p and a second-class stamp to 68p. While Royal Mail has expressed about its intentions to hike prices, it also faces a threat from the rising costs that includes disagreement with the Communication Worker’s Union, who have opposed the idea.

The company has said that the transformation program is a part of the business that is focused on parcels. Royal Mail has posted a profit of £758 for the year to March 27, 2022 on the basis of which the union is demanding a pay rise for the staff. The company in a statement said that they are now looking forward to deliver the benefits towards a sustainable growth.

The statement added that they have already made operational changes but that still needs to be translated in to efficiency that would help to deliver a financial benefit in the upcoming year and beyond.
