Sir Watson you can still play college even if yours doesn't have a team. UPA allows you to play for another school that has a team so long as you maintain the eligibility at yours. Great replies, interesting stuff considering how new ultimate is.  I suppose I'll put what my path has been and hopes to be.

I dont know If I would spend a whole session on throwing, its very much a personal practice thing. Maybe teach proper grip and things for a few minutes but again I would go straight in to an offense of some sort or atleast the concept of cutting in/out and the clearing, not clogging the area. It seems what most newbies do is make one cut(a rounded, jogging cut) and then stand there, wave their arms and hope to get thrown to. Thats great input. The league didnt get enough interest therefore we didnt start it up this summer. We are looking to start it up again in the fall maybe with more time to prepare and all.

I wouldn't waste too much time on throwing.  Sure, go over things like grip and a few mechanics, but don't force it.  Throwing skills only come with throwing practice, so unless you want to spend 12 weeks teaching them how to throw, it's likely their throwing skill will not vastly improve over that time period.  Encourage nothing but throws for pre-game warm-up though.

I'd run a 2-3 horizontal offense with the first cut being the 2 position cutter (in or out and other cutters flow from there) or I think the most effective O strategy would be to run a slant cut from the breakforce side (likely #1 position cutter with a force flick).

I would think there has to be more to O than cut in order 1 through 4, like where do they clear to and how do they cycle to make sure cuts are coming from the right place. How long do you have at each of these practices? I was hoping to get away with simply having 1 handler (myself unless any of the first year students can do it better) numbering each of the other 4 guys 1 through 4 and have them cut in that order (with 4 being the next strongest handler) and having have assignments before each point ie who goes long etc.
