05.25.2012 Two Opportunities for Couch Tour This Memorial Day Weekend via iClips and Sirius

If you weren't able to join us at Summer Camp this Memorial Day weekend, you have two opportunities to stream Umphrey's during your festivities. First, iClips will be airing a simulcast from Summer Camp all weekend. Umphrey's will be broadcast live via iClips.net at 7:15 and 9:15 pm CST tonight, Friday, May 25th, and then at 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm CST on Saturday, May 26th. Finally, Umphrey's will be on at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 27th. Fans can find all of the pertinent information on their site iClips.net.

Also, Umphrey's blistering performance from the Hangout Fest last week (Friday, May 18th) will be aired by Sirius Jam ON radio this weekend: on Saturday the 26th from 9:00 to 11:00 pm; Sunday the 27th from 10:00 am to Noon; and on Memorial Day starting at 4:00 pm.

05.22.2012 Umphrey's Keeping Busy at Summer Camp (Shows and Events)

Along with their three shows and sold out Saturday picnic at this year's Summer Camp, the members of Umphrey's will be keeping busy throughout the weekend. On Thursday night, join Joel and Kris as they play with Digital Tape Machine (Jagermeister Stage). Then late night Friday, you will find Brendan throwing it down with close friends Wyllys and the New York Hustler Ensemble in the Vibe Tent. If you aren't tired yet, late night Saturday will feature Brendan, Jake, and Kris with Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner as they perform as the Brain Damaged Eggmen, celebrating the music of Pink Floyd and the Beatles in the Red Barn. Finally, on Sunday, Joel will be sitting in with the Everyone Orchestra (also in the Red Barn).

You will also find members of the band at Umphrey's 2nd Annual Golden Ticket event. Or, you can find Brendan and Ryan playing Bags at 1:00 pm on Friday at the VIP Bar. A few hours later, Joel will be part of the keyboard clinic (3:00 pm, Friday). And on Sunday, Andy will be part of the drum clinic (3:00 pm).

05.22.2012 Umphrey's to Make Debut Performance at ACL Fest, Also Playing Summer Set Fest

Umphrey's will be making its debut performance at the Austin City Limits Festival this upcoming October in Austin, Texas. Umphrey's will be playing on Friday. 04.26.2012 Umphrey's Teams With Chicago For Hometown Tribute

Umphrey's McGee has teamed up with Choose Chicago, the city's official tourism organization, for a sweet, sunny ode to their hometown, called "Chicago." Umphrey's will perform the song, which also features fellow locals Buddy Guy and the band Chicago, at tonight's HUG Chicago 2012 ‘thank you’ concert. HUG Chicago 2012 is the first-ever hospitality industry effort dedicated to the beautification and protection of Chicago's structural assets visible to and accessed by visitors. Produced by Choose Chicago, the organization launched by Mayor Rahm Emanuel with the goal of attracting 50 million visitors per year by 2020, HUG Chicago 2012 is the city’s official kick-off to National Tourism Week.

The song, bolstered by Guy's howling licks and Chicago's legendary horns, is an ode to all things Chicago with singer/guitarist Brendan Bayliss declaring to prospective visitors, "Every corner holds a new surprise, this city shines/ There's no limit to how high with no comparison, don't try/ Always a smile so come see why."

04.20.2012 Chicago: A Song Is Born

If you are a fan of Umphrey’s McGee, you know we are huge fans of Chicago. We’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world over and there is simply no place quite like it. So when the opportunity arose to represent Chicago in a fresh & fitting way, rest assured we weren’t going to pass that up.

In a serendipitous meeting at one of Chicago’s many great watering holes, Don Welsh (President & CEO of Choose Chicago) and Kevin Browning (Manages Creative & Business Development for UM) found themselves in a conversation about a new marketing campaign for the city. Don mentioned his desire for a song that would both encapsulate all that is Chicago & serve as a rallying point for the city. Kevin told him to look no further.

And so a nine month project to craft a Chicago centered, Umphrey’s original was born. Next week the track officially hatches and we wanted you to be the first to know what’s coming.

Chicago is a little bit of everything you’ve come to expect from UM. A funky intro that pays homage to the Chicago’s early urban sound gives way to a feel great, head bobbin’ verse. The chorus warrants a gratuitous fist pumping as an anthemic tribute to Chitown ensues. It’s rooted in rock but laced with just enough pop to cast a wide net. (The heavy metal version may not have played as well).

We’re honored and elated to be part of a project that gives back to Chicago, a city that has given us so much. We hope the song will take on a life of its own and become something bigger than any of us. If we can help turn on even a handful of new peeps to the gem that is Chicago, it will be a success.

The official launch is April 26th but check back soon because we don’t think we can wait that long. Thanks for being the best fans around. Your support allows us to continue to look outside of the box for new & interesting ideas like this.

The Travel + UM Picnic package includes an intimate set of music on Saturday afternoon at the Three Sisters Church. Following the set, join the boys for a picnic to mingle with the band while enjoying complimentary food and beverage. Additional amenities included in the package feature a umVIP 2012 limited edition commemorative backpack, VIP viewing access throughout the festival each day, priority access to the UM Golden Ticket merch event, UMLive downloads of all Umphrey's 2012 Summer Camp performances, a commemorative event laminate and wristband, and a dedicated group coordinator on staff throughout the weekend.

The travel portion of this offering includes three or four nights at the Springhill Suites by Marriott Peoria, all-suite property, where breakfast, parking, and local airport shuttle are included in your hotel stay, plus round-trip festival shuttle service from the hotel to the festival grounds each day. Umphrey's McGee is excited to celebrate April 20th with you at one of our favorite venues, Stubb's BBQ, in Austin, Texas. We will keep the rock show rocking with a special late night featuring Brendan and Joel with special guest Andy on percussion and what not. Expect a slew of stripped down Umphrey's McGee original tunes along with a cover or two thrown in for good measure. Show will start at 12:30 am following Umphrey's full concert.

Only those who purchase tickets to the main show can attend the late night event. If you have already secured your tickets to the main event, you will have first chance to guarantee entry for $12.00. You'll receive an email with instructions on how to purchase. For those of you still planning to purchase tickets, a joint ticket for both shows will be available in advance for $30.00. 03.27.2012 Umphrey's Announces Summer Dates, Red Rocks & Boulder Theater, Pre-Sale this Friday March 30th

Umphrey's McGee is excited to announce a new batch of summer tour dates with very special guests G. Love & Special Sauce, including shows in Philadelphia, Boston, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Pre-sale through UMTicketing begins this Friday, March 30, at Noon (12:00 pm) CT.

Umphrey's McGee makes their return to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, where they will play a two-set show, co-headlining with Railroad Earth, on Friday September 14. The band has also added a show at the Boulder Theater on Saturday, September 15, following their Red Rocks performance. Pre-sale for Red Rocks & Boulder Theater combination tickets, Red Rocks GA tickets, and Red Rocks VIP packages will also begin this Friday, March 30 at Noon CT (11:00 am MT) through UMTicketing. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement that will detail a very special Red Rocks VIP experience – be sure to grab yours on March 30 before they sell out!

Adding to the list of this summer's festivals, Umphrey's will perform a two set show at STS9's Re:Generation Festival in North Plains, Oregon, marking our first time visiting Horning's Hideout. 03.27.2012 Stew Art Event Announced for April 13th in Athens, Georgia

The Stew Art Series (S²) continues to receive national acclaim and high praise from fans for its innovations in band/fan collaboration and use of interactive technology. We are happy to announce the next installment of our S² series on April 13th at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia.

Fans will submit ideas, themes, and concepts via text message which the band will use to improvise in real time. These events are truly a one of kind experience where the attendees dictate the show.

Doors for the Athens S² will open at 6:00 pm, with the S² to start at 6:30. A half-hour meet and greet will follow for you to mingle with the band, snap photos, grab autographs and enjoy some food and drink. The total event time will be about 90 minutes. Doors for the show will open immediately following at 8:00 pm and you will have the option to stay in the venue after the S² to lock down a great seat for the night.

Tickets are $99.00 and go on sale Friday March 30th at Noon ET via Ticketbiscuit. As with past S² events, you will need a separate ticket to attend the night's show,otherwise you will be asked to leave before doors open. There will be a strict two-ticket limit. No Will Call name changes will be allowed.

A portion of proceeds from the Athens S² will go to a local charity.

We are pleased to announce another unique event from your friends here at Umphrey's McGee.

On Friday, March 16th, we pull out the bar stools and acoustic guitars as we present Umphrey's McGee: True Hollywood Stories. Join us as we delve into the stories behind some of your favorite tunes (parental discretion advised). You'll hear details about the inspiration and creation of a smattering of songs, new and old alike. The band will also take a few minutes to field some of your song related questions. We're limiting the event to only 150 people to maintain a cozy intimacy. Additionally, Fankix will broadcast the show for free on Facebook in the weeks following the event. Cloud 9 Adventures today announces the event details of the always-epic Mayan Holidaze. Holidaze, in its 6th year, will be happening in breathtaking Tulum, Mexico.

For 2012, Mayan Holidaze holds special significance – with the move to Tulum coinciding with the height of a very mystic time in the Mayan Calendar. Guests can expect another all-inclusive musical adventure on the beautiful shores of Mexico’s Mayan Riviera but with a distinct twist – fans can either experience the all-inclusive luxury of staying on-site at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa, or stay offsite and purchase from a limited number of 4-Day Passes that provide all-inclusive access to the event (while making one’s own accommodations, allowing people to experience the “off-the-beaten-path” paradise of the Hotel Zone in Tulum).
