Aussie electropop duo Flight Facilities have a brand new single called ‘With You’, this time featuring the vocal work of Hot Chip drummer Grovesnor – something darker, something deeper and something more mature.

French electro duo The Shoes are part of a new wave of indie artists from the Northern city of Reims (think Yuksek, Brodinski or The Bewitched Hands). Their debut album Crack My Bones was released in March 2011 to rave reviews and features a number of guest appearances including Esser, CocknBullKid and Wave Machines. There’s dancefloor moments that will be familiar to those who have followed the duo since their debut back in 2009, but there’s also dark electronic pop songs that you’re going to fall in love with.

The Shoes’ last single is the unstoppable stomper “Time To Dance”, released last month and backed by remixes from SebastiAn, Esser, Rocky Piano and Dddxie. You can stream the whole EP on SoundCloud and watch the video for the song (featuring Jake Gyllenhaal) on Vimeo.

SF-based electropop duo Midi Matilda is the fruit of a long collaboration between Logan Grimé and Skyler Kilborn, two musicians who met at college in 2008 and have been making music ever since. They craft the kind of catchy indie-flavoured pop gems that worm their way into your brain and stay there for days on end. Filled with bubbly synths, careless falsetto vocals and punchy beats, the band’s debut EP, Red Light District, has been getting a lot of heat since its release last February.

Probably best known for his production work with Radiohead, Beck or Charlotte Gainsbourg, Nigel Godrich is also a respected musician that you’ve probably seen playing guitar and synths with Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Piece ensemble. Lately he’s been working with L.A. drummer/producer Joey Waronker and London artist Laura Bettinson on a new mysterious project called Ultraísta.

Their debut single is called “Smalltalk” and it’s currently streaming on SoundCloud and YouTube. The song is a sophisticated piece of electronica with intricate programmed beats, eerie synths and some beautifully spare vocals by Bettinson.

After the sweeping success of their Kitsune-backed single “Manners” and their critically acclaimed debut EP, Nights Like This, Stockholm electropop duo Icona Pop are finally back with the single “I Love It”, a fine slice of euphoric power pop with “summer hit” written all over it.

Driven by an infectious chanted chorus and a frantic Guetta-esque beat, this instant floorfiller is already out in Sweden and should get a worldwide release soon. Written by Charli XCX and co-produced by Patrick Berger (Tove Styrke, The Good Natured, Lana del Rey) and Style of Eye, the song comes with a cool video directed by Fredrik Etoall.

Robosonic aka Cord and Sacha have been building a reputation for producing multidimensional electronic music ever since the release of their highly acclaimed debut album Sturm und Drang in 2007 on their own label Diskomafia.

Currently based in Melbourne, Parachute Youth is the artistic pairing of Matt K Von And Jonny Castro, originally from Sydney and Adelaide respectively. Recently signed to Sweat It Out, the boys have crafted a wonderfully hypnotic big-room dance anthem, a song soaring with unbridled joy, dark melancholy and drama reverbed.

Remixes come from an all-star team of producers including Sam La More (best known for his production work with Gwen Stefani, Beni, Pnau…), 22-year-old Australian prodigy Benson and UK duo Just Kiddin.

The single was the most highly played and requested song on Triple J Radio in the first months of 2012 and the video for the song has already received over a million hits on YouTube. Quite a start for Parachute Youth!
