For the sixth year in a row, UNC Asheville was selected as one of the “Best Value” public colleges in the nation by The Princeton Review. “Best Value Colleges: 2012 Edition,” profiling the top 75 public colleges and top 75 private colleges, was published today; the rankings were also reported in today’s edition of USA Today.

Agreement Reached in Basketball Tourney Hosting

UNC Asheville, the Big South Conference and the Southern Conference have come to an agreement that will allow the Bulldog men's basketball team to play the BSC championship game in Kimmel Arena on the UNC Asheville campus at noon, Saturday, March 3, should they earn that opportunity. The Bulldogs would host the title game if they are the highest remaining seed.

Pianist Kimberly Cann will perform in a free concert at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18 in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. The concert will feature works by Debussy, Liszt, Beethoven and the 20th Century composer Margaret Bonds, one of the first black classical performers and composers to gain recognition in the U.S.
