Santorini Spiral

It had been a long vacation and my wife and I had just settled down in our small room overlooking the huge caldera that is Santorini Island.  I couldn’t sleep so I got up and walked to the window.  I had no idea of the time but it looked like the sun was just cresting on the rim of the island…..and to my amazement I witnessed a spiral of light in the sky in front of me. As quickly as it appeared it vanished without a trace but before it did I managed to have the presence of mind  to snap a picture with my digital camera.

Griffith Observatory UFO

I was driving up to Griffith Park for an afternoon hike after an over-caffinated day in a dark office when, staring at the the stoplight, waiting for it to change, I glanced towards the observatory and then, in the sky above the dome, a shiny, moving object cruised into view. My heart, already pounding from all the coffee in my system, kicked into another gear. My foot was stuck on the brake and even though the light had turned green, I couldn’t move. It was all I could do to pull out my phone and take one picture, and then, in the next instant, the object streaked off, disappearing from sight. I pulled over and stared at the image on my phone in disbelief. The hike would have to wait…
