Attention gadies and lents, goys and birls! Today ends the Fifth Triannual Unicellular Transcription Contest! During the week, we only had one transcriber, but let me tell you, he put in a lot of work! So, winning the contest by a wide margin of 22 transcriptions to none, is Spencer! Congratulations, thanks, and I’ll be contacting you shortly so that I can mail you 10 unicellular sketches!

New Short!

I just put out a new short that I started a few months ago and just finished! It was a lot of fun, and one of my best drawings yet!

Also, keep up the good work on the Transcription Contest, which ends this Sunday! Maybe it would be fun to transcribe while watching the Olympics!?

Hi wallets and purses! Are you sitting down? You should be before reading the next paragraph. Sitting now? Good.

Today starts the Fifth Triannual Unicellular Transcription Contest! During this contest, whoever transcribes the most Unicellular comics wins a prize of 10 signed Unicellular sketches! To transcribe comics, click the “transcribe this comic” button over eligible (READ: untranscribed) comics, and then follow the directions to make a transcription of the comic! Then, it can be searched for using the search box, and get you closer to winning the prize!

Not So Fine Print: When you transcribe a comic, just make sure that you include your email address, so I can be sure to email you if you win! The contest will last one week, ending with the posting of the comic on Sunday Feb. 28th.

Hi fogs and mists. Today’s comic may have a reference or two that is a bit obscure. The top panels refer to Naughty by Nature’s song O.P.P., as well as Markov Decision Processes. In other news, the Olympics have started, and I’m super excited to watch curling, which starts on Tuesday! Yay!

Hey hail and sleet. I’ve always been a big proponent of using re-usable water bottles instead of bottled water. I always thought it seemed a waste of money and produced more garbage than necessary. Check out this infographic for more reasons to go to tap-water filled water bottles!

New Update Schedule

You may have noticed that over the last few weeks, Unicellular has been updating much less than thrice weekly. It’s been really busy with holidays and surgeries, but to tell the truth, I should be having more free time now than I will when classes start up again next week. I’ve noticed that when I become time-crunched, drawing comics becomes more of a chore than a fun hobby. Plus, this grad school thing is harder than college, that’s for sure. So, considering my sanity and love of drawing comics, I’ve decided to cut back on the Unicellular schedule to one comic per week on Sundays, starting today. I hope this will both lighten my stress as well as make Unicellular releases much more consistent. So, don’t worry during the week, I’ll be back on Sunday!
